Rusty Thimble Dance performance Wednesday!!

Hey everyone!  Come take a break from 5.5 Wednesday April 14th  night to join us for an awesome performance.  The Rusty Thimble has not one but two events this month as we welcome a handful of new dancers and singers to our group.  The doors open at 9 pm EST and the songs start at 9:30pm EST.  So grab your dancing shoes and come join us for two hours of dancing, cheering, and an amazing time.  Our regulars keep coming back and we know you will have a fun night you won't forget. Rusty Thimble March Performance

The Rusty Thimble's march performance is this Wednesday March 24th.  Doors open around 9 pm EST and the performance will start around 9:30 pm EST.  Join us on Goblin, Goblet, Ward 24 plot 43.

The Rusty Thimble is a performance company that started 6 months ago.  We have grown to 8 singers and dancers that love to put on an amazing show.  You won't be disappointed, as we have started seeing regulars come back again and again to our monthly performances.

The first half is dedicated to the theme and holidays of March:  sea shanties and drinking songs.  From there our performers will dance and sing to some of their favorite songs.  So grab your dancing shoes and glow sticks and dance the night away in a one of a kind theater.    You don't want to miss this! I have had so much fun growing with this group.  At some point I will make posts about it here and get back into the RP blog.  If you have missed these muscles then please come visit and see us! Rusty Thimble event tomorrow night!

TOMORROW NIGHT! Monday February 1st 9pm EST - midnight The Rusty Thimble will be hosting our Palentine event!  We will have an open bar, a giant dance floor, sweet tunes played by DJ Limitbreak, and social games for people that want to mingle and meet new friends (or more.).   Wear red if you are taken, yellow if you are open, and green if you are available.  So come dance the night away and have fun meeting new people.  Located at Goblin, Goblet W24 P43.

Our Grand opening! Tonight!

Cross World Linkshell Promotion

Hey everyone, I know I haven’t posted in a very long time, and I will change that.  So much has happened in the past couple of months and I need to get it down.  However, I am helping to run a cross server linkshell that features performers at a steampunk tavern.  Like to perform or want to bartend at a cool place a couple times a month?  Message me here or in game!

🍻 9PM - 10PM: [Dolston Everett] “The Hawk House��- Lavender Beds, Ward 21 Plot 29 Old fashioned speakeasy with loft area for dining, and a stage for entertainment.

🍻 10PM - 11PM: [Sjlfe Odiv] “Topsy~Turvy”- Mists W20, P6 Tavern, Boutique and Cafe

🍻 11PM - 12AM: [Damian Vandrake] “Dragon Tear” - Mist, Ward 13, Plot 17 Ishgardian cafe & bar area with an open venue often used for different events in the downstairs!

🍻 12AM+ (for our night owls): [Hokusai Ashikaga] “Suiren Temple” -  Shirogane, Ward 6, Plot 43 Eastern Temple / Will provide temple-brewed sake and snacks

Frustration.

Garinn wasn’t a puncher.  He was a Dragoon.  But sometimes.  Sometimes.  You needed to hit something with your fist.  Hard.  Right now was one of those times.  With light padded gloves and in nothing more then his shorts he attacked the training dummy with vigor.

“Get.....her.....out.....of....your....head....”  Each thought rang out in his head as each fist collided with the wooden statue, thunks filling the courtyard as he slammed into it over and over.

“She’s...with...him..” He hissed out each word with gritted teeth, his fists flying harder as the rage built inside him.  Were anyone there they would see something move behind those hazel eyes as his aggression and anger was transferred into the blows.

“IT....WON”T....HAPPEN!  AHHHHHHHH” 

Garinn roared out, his dragoon power flaring, causing his next punch to fly into the dummy.  It rocked it backwards and caused the ground to lift around them.  He screamed out again, hurling a flurry of blows to the thing as sweat beaded around his chiseled frame.   Finally, he was done, breathing heavily as his head rested against the statue.  The sweaty highlander grabbed his towel before heading inside to find a large bottle of something strong and a hot tub.

I dug this up from yesterday because I want to play devils advocate. Yes, this is a game and RP is just for fun. However, it's social interaction. It takes multiple people to roleplay, and it takes some commitment to write out some deep amazing story archs. If this is just some side game you play every now and again you aren't going to get those quality archs.

Im not saying you need to RP every day with everyone. But if you want to develop something with someone you need to set time aside for it. Once a week. 2-4 times a month. Some sort of schedule so they can count on you. And trust me, if you do this you will get amazing stories your character can talk about in taverns.

Also I did date vicariously through Garinn. I never thought there was ooc love. But I did enjoy those romantic dates that I couldn't find IRL. I think that's a separate topic entirely about IC/OOC bleed.

So yeah. You can do this randomly in your spare time. But if you want to get the most out of RP then make it a hobby you commit to if you love it.

Don’t let roleplay take over your life!

Roleplay is fiction. It’s not real. You are not your character. Real life always, always, always comes before roleplay no matter what.

Roleplay isn’t a priority for everyone. Many roleplayers work full time, have families, go to school, etc. They don’t have time to sit in front of a computer all day writing. Stop “keeping tabs” on your partners like you own them because you don’t. It’s invasive and creepy. Not everyone has the time to constantly answer DMs and threads all day long.

“If roleplay isn’t a priority then you shouldn’t do it.” Fuck off with that. It is a hobby. AKA something done for entertainment that takes a backseat to real life. If your entire existence revolves so much around a fictional world and make believe characters that it starts to affect interactions with others then you need to get professional help.

Expecting constant roleplay from people is unfair and unrealistic. Guilting, inducing anxiety or upsetting people over roleplay is extremely unhealthy behavior. Grow up.

Yeah if they know they won’t be on for a while then it’s good to get a heads up. But it’s not required. Sometimes people need a break or life becomes stressful and they forget or don’t have time. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get that communication. Of course it sucks and sometimes it will hurt but don’t let it consume you.

People drift apart. Life happens. It really is just a hobby. It doesn’t pay your bills. Chill out life does go on.
