First day + some one-on-one experience + creation of a nickname
Notes: Sorry for not updating this at all. School got me swamped. I have some time now, though. I wrote the majority like last season, so I don't have Kimi or Oli.
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
Being on the new team, a rookie, a faceless, and the first female F1 driver is insanely stressful. This is why meeting new people was so scary. Not saying that the other drivers are mean but they are intimidating. They all knew each other and it was hard integrating into the grid. Hence, Liam, who already knows the drivers, is dragging Snow around like an older brother introducing his kid sister to his friends. “Come on Snow. It'll be fine. You already know Oscar and Logan.” “It won't Liam! It won't be fine! What if they think I'm weird for always wearing a helmet? That my face is constantly concealed? What if they think I'm creepy? Or rude? What if they hate me? What if-" “Snow, mate, chill out. They are nice, they will understand when you explain it to them. And I think they will take a liking to you once they get to know you. Plus all of us are going to be together for a good chunk of the year, it’s best if everyone is friends. Speaking of which there they are!” He spots, jogging towards them while Snow trails behind. “Let's go greet them, yeah?.” “No, wait- I’m not rea-” Snow shook. “HEY GUYS!” The entire group stopped their conversation and looked at the two approaching them. Various ‘hi’s and hello’s grated them. Daniel greeted them with a 1000-watt smile. “How’s it goin’? It's been a while since we last caught up.” Liam smiled back. “Oh, things have been pretty good. The other day, I went to this bakery, and they have amazing pastries.”
As the grid was catching up with each other. Snow settled behind Liam, attempting to hide and figure out how to sneak away. Until she heard someone say, “How’s your teammate by the way?” Now she knows there's no way for her to escape. “Oh, Snow? She's right here.” Snow can practically hear Liam smirk as he pulls her away from where she is hiding and shoves her into the center of the group. She stands like a living embodiment of the standing man emoji and waves. “Uh, hi? I’m Snow.” Silence and staring eyes met Snow and she wanted to simply poof out of the situation. Many screams filled the air.“You’re so tiny!'' “How tall even are you?” “Are you even old enough to drive?” “HAHA YES SOMEONE SHORTER THAN ME!” Snow decided that she should answer at least one of the questions and murmured “I’m 155 cm…and yeah im old enough I was born in ‘04.”
There was some more silence until she felt her feet leaving the ground. “Oh, she's just a baby!” Daniel exclaimed while holding her up like Simba. She tried struggling to get out of his grip, but ultimately failed, so she just dangled until she was put down. She, of course, was internally fangirling because ‘Oh my god I’m going to be racing with people I saw on TV when I was a kid!’ So she just continued to stand there spacing out until everyone was directed to take the F1 grid photos. Everyone continued to chatter with each other while she just stood there out of place and alone. When someone did talk to her, she only gave short answers or nods, it was very awkward but she was glad that no one made a big deal out of her helmet. After the photos were done she exited quietly and quickly, but not unnoticed.
“Hey, Liam? Did we make her uncomfortable?” Lando couldn’t help but ask, Snow was so tense the entire time. “Nah, she’s just shy. Just wait till she warms up, she’ll chatter your ears off!” Liam explained with a smile. Oscar and Logan joined with a chuckle, “He's right you know. She's also very kind, but super chaotic. Like a crow, or a cat, giving you random things at random times. Shows up randomly and suddenly and leaving just as fast."Logan stated. “In all honesty, I don't even know how she's alive,” Oscar said shaking his head. “She's got no brain cells, just ‘drive fast car.’ on repeat. ” With that information, many of the drivers were determined to get the shy child to open up.
The next time they meet, Snow is in and around the paddock, and Charles has the first one-on-one encounter.
Walking towards the Ferrari garage Charles stops to take a photo with a fan thinking it was just a normal photo. What he didn’t see coming was that they leaned in to try to kiss his cheek. With his reflexes, he starts to flinch away from the fan. That’s when a book suddenly shows up blocking their face from him. Shocked, he looks for the owner of said book, and there stands a recognizable motorcycle helmet, his face staring back at him. “Snow? Where did you come from?” Charles asked bewildered, yet he was met with silence. Stunned at the unexpected driver; everyone stood there in silence, like statues.
After what felt like forever, the faceless driver is the first to move. She faces the fan, reflecting their shocked face in her helmet. “Please, respect the drivers.” Trying to use a calm voice. But it just comes across as cold and harsh. Before the fan could process what was happening she used the book as a physical barrier to separate them; gently pushing their arm away from him. And her free gentle hand on his shoulder, almost like it was hovering above it, leading him to walk away. “You’ll have better luck with a cardboard cutout.” She spat out, turning away to escort Charles to the Ferrari garage.
Fan raging while you wave with the hand holding the book, almost like telling them to go away.
When they were further away from the fan she pulled her hand away from the older. “Are you okay?” she asks softly, a complete 180 of what just happened moments before. “Yes, I’ll live,” he replied, sounding a little tired. Arriving at the Monegasque’s garage he turns to the girl. “Hey uh... Thanks, Snow, I appreciate what you did.” She only gave a curt nod and disappeared into the crowd.
(She was mad that someone tried to kiss Charles without consent, so she vented to Sebastian about it to see what action could be taken. The fan ended up banned, and she asked security to give them a small cardboard cut out of Charles, with a note, ‘This is more your level.’)
The second encounter was with Alex and George. Liam was the one to ask them to help him look for his tiny teammate. Alex and George arrived at the paddock together, invested in their conversation when Liam ran up to them in a mild panic. “Hey, you guys wouldn’t mind helping me find Snow, would you? We were filming a hide-and-seek video but I genuinely can’t find her and Seb wants us back in the garage.” Both of them looked at Liam like he grew a third head. “Have you called her?” Alex asked. Liam rolled his eyes “I have Alex, she didn’t pick up. If she did I wouldn't be panicking!” Liam cringed slightly, “Sorry…I’m just stressed, I lost a whole person!” Liam gave an apologetic sigh. “I’m going to keep looking, but just so you guys know. She can be anywhere, she can climb.” and with that, he booked it in a random direction, in hopes of finding his teammate. Leaving Alex and George behind, they looked at each other and silently agreed to keep an extra eye out for Snow.
While walking towards some trees, George happened to look up into one of the trees, and lo and behold there she was sleeping in the tree. He made a full stop and smacked Alex's arm to get his attention. “Hey Alex? I think I found her.” He said with bewilderment. Then Alex looked up and just stood there questioning how Snow got up there. “How did she get up there? Can she get down?” Alex whispered. “Well Alex, we are about to find out. HEY, SNOW! SNOW! WAKE UP!” Snow stirred awake and looked to where the yelling was. “What?” she asked, voice a little groggy. “Liam is looking for you! He said Seb wanted you back in the garage!” Logan explained. Snow just stared blankly at them for a few seconds then started to move.
She was hanging off the branch she was just resting on and simply let go and landed with a barrel roll on a grassy patch. Both George and Alex freaked out because she just jumped from fairly high up, but she just stood up and brushed off excess dirt from her team kit. “Holy shit Snow, are you okay?” Alex asked. Snow just looks up at him, like he asked how her morning was, “Yeah, I’m fine.” “Snow,” George started, hand on his chest trying to steady his heart, “How are you still alive?” She simply shrugged, “I don’t know. It’s a mystery for me too dude.” and walked off into the distance. “Call Liam so he isn’t running around like a maniac!” Alex called after her. She didn’t even turn around but she gave him a thumbs up. Then a trolly full of tires passed by, blocking Snow from their vision when the tolly passed she was gone, vanished without a trace like a ghost.
(She ended up sulking because Liam scolded her for not answering his calls and jumping out of a tree.)
The third time was with Lando, Carlos, and Daniel. A wasp had appeared on the crowded track while they were talking. Lando was of course screaming, and running around. Daniel was freaking out and hiding behind Carlos. Carlos had the don’t move and it will go away strategy. They all saw Snow walk out from the crowd, oblivious to the flying threat she was going to stumble upon. “Snow! Careful there's a wasp somewhere!” Daniel warned. Carlos was trying to calm everyone, “As long as we stay still and calm- “ but was interrupted by Lando screaming. “I SEE HER! SHE’S FOLLOWING ME! WHY DO WASPS DO THIS TO ME!” Lando ran around some more, then hid behind Snow out of sheer panic. Snow, seemingly placid, saw the wasp grab and crushed it immediately. Fist still clenched tightly, she looked at them. And the other three looked between her helmet and fist in shocked silence.
Daniel was the first to break the silence with a whistle “Nice! That's some top-notch reflexes, Snow!” Lando was next, lifting her from behind and spinning around. “My hero! You’ve saved me from the murderous bug!” When she was finally put down she stumbled a bit, dizzy from being spun. Carlos steadied her until she recovered, while lightly scolding Lando for spinning too much. “Are you okay?” Carlos asked, gesturing to the still-closed fist. Snow nodded, “Yeah I’m fine. Please excuse me.” she said before she vanished into the crowd as fast as she showed up.
(She was panicking the entire time, she hates bugs and doesn't know why she just did that. Now she is looking for a bathroom to scrub the bug guts off her hands, and maybe do an extra wash with bleach or something.)
The fourth time was with Max and Lewis in the media pen. Sky Sports was asking Max and Lewis about their non-existent rivalry for the nth time, and everyone was getting tired of the repetitive questions. “So Lewis after Max’s aggressive overtakes to your races, do you think he crossed the line, or is that just the kind of racing you expect from someone like him?” the interviewer asked a question that was the same as the last 3 races. Lewis raised an eyebrow, while Max just stared blankly at them. As Lewis was about to answer that this is how racing is, someone else chimed in. “Do you guys have some memory issues or comprehension issues? Because you guys are asking the same fucking questions but with different words. It’s going to get you the same damn answer, maybe go back to school to remember how to ask questions.” They turned to see who was talking, and there Snow was arms crossed staring at the interviewer, with a glare (can helmets even glare?). She then looked at the two drivers, “And you guys entertain this?” both gave her a hesitant shrug. She rolled her eyes(?) and faced the interviewer, “I suggest asking better questions. Because if you're going to ask questions that have been repeated like a child, that tells everyone what kind of journalist you are.” She then turned sharply and walked to an interviewer calling for her.
Lewis and Max watched her walk away, then back at the interviewer. “You were saying?” Max asked with a mildly smug and proud tone. “I- um. H-how was the car today? Did you have any issues?” the interviewer stuttered out.
(The interview went smoothly after that, but Snow got reprimanded by her PR manager. The poor manager is going to go full grey at this rate.)
The rest of the grid had their encounters through the media pin, interviews, or just slowly bonding during the drivers' parade. Slowly but surely, Snow began to warm up to the grid. The grid is now exasperated with the chaos that Snow brings, but no one has any regrets.

General info
Finnaly got around to writing this thing lol. Feel free to switch out oc's name for your name if you want it to be a self insert. This whole thing is definitely self-indulgent, but feel free to leave suggestions.
She'll be driving for Porsche, their car is mainly yellow and black like a bee with minimal white accents. The suits are yellow with black from the palm of the gloves down the sides. Think Miles Morales spider suit from across the spider-verse but the second color going all the way down to the boots. With a white collar and shoulders.
The main character is a faceless, 20 year old female driver named Snow. She got her driver number with a random number generator.
Sebastian Vettel is a team principal for the new team and adamantly wanted Snow to be one of his drivers. In all honesty he’s still a grid dad/mom/parent.
She wears a motorbike helmet when she has to do anything that relates to f1, partying with the rest of the grid? Helmet. In public with someone from the grid? Helmet or a mask + sunglasses + hat combo.
She trains in the helmet as well to get used to wearing it all the time.
Might upgrade to an LED one that shows facial expressions later on.
She collects mostly motorcycles rather than cars. Her favorite is a custom black Kawasaki Ninja 400 with changeable LED underglow.
She's shy with new people and on camera (in the beginning) but becomes a menace. She is considerate but a feral gremlin nonetheless.
Definitely a yapper of given the chance.
She's shorter than Yuki by 6 cm and he reminds her every time they meet.
She has 0 self-preservation skills, not a single brain cell in that helmet.
When she wants to nap she hides in the weirdest places. She has been found asleep in a tree more than once.
Likes to munch, and is often seen munching on carrots, cucumbers or dried fruits before races. She's not a picky eater, and would try exotic fruits for fun.
Has a sibling relationship with most of the grid, a dad relationship with Sebastion, and an uncle with Lewis, Valtteri, Sergio, and Fernando.
Dark Gen Z humor and energy to the max.
Trauma? Yes.
Self-deprecation? Master class.
Secret emotional support stuffed animal? Yes.
Where are her parents? She doesn't have any. She just materialized into existence. At least, that's what she says.
Her warm-ups are balance exercises with juggling.
Before races, she gives everyone in her team helmet kisses/headbutts as an endearing ‘thanks in advance’ or a ‘let’s do well, good luck’.
Afterward, she will full on headbutt drivers if they have their helmets on or a helmet kiss if they don't, as a ‘congratulations you did it’ or ‘a you did well’.

I've been seeing a lot of f1 fics n' what not. I'm not like insanely into f1 or motorsports. But I love the fics of fem gen z being an f1 driver! So I present my gen z driver hc! It's all going to be platonic. (P.S.A, it's not accurate at all like I don't think some parts are even allowed, but I think it's funny)
She's on the shorter side, a little shorter than Yuki. She has facial dysmorphia and really likes to separate her public and personal life. So she wears a motorcycle helmet when she's not wearing her racing helmet. Does not give a flying fuck what other people think about her helmet (it helps with camra shyness and eye contact). She also rides motorcycles on her off time. 1000% sleeps hugging a stuffed animal (it's very comfortable).
She's feral, on crack if you will, but once the race starts, she switches a flip and instantly zones in. Her warm-up is using those balance boards for surfing and juggling small bean bags. Naps or stretches during red flag calls (if she wasn't the one that crashed). Very open on mental health and dark jokes thrown everywhere. Cold and not very social first, but once she's comfortable, she won't stop talking if given the chance.
That's all I got for now... might come up with some scenarios later :3
