Friends: The One Where Rachel Tells...
Friends is a sitcom that aired from 1994 to 2004, having 10 seasons with more than 20 episodes each. With that in mind, the show has many inconsistencies due to possible time constraints in the production schedule, and considering the participation of the live audience, having the perfect retake isn't the highest priority.
This is from Season 8 Episode 3 wherein Joey and Phoebe call Monica and Chandler, lying to them about a gas leak in their apartment. The props on the table differ from a casserole platter and water bottle to a plate of veggies. I would guess there are different production design choices per take. The switches could be due to different takes being Frankensteined together to make the process quicker.
This is the easier way to produce an episode and given the season, it is a detail to be overlooked. But as future directors, consistency and minding the production design is important because of how much storytelling it shares. In addition, the audiences are smart so we shouldn't underestimate the attention to detail each audience member has.
