I don’t know how “TERFs” feel, but I certainly am not celebrating the fact that Donald Trump was surrounded by a bunch of underaged girls in a photo opp signing a bill to make competitive school sports sex-based instead of identity-based.

I’m pretty pissed off that we got to this point.

I’m pissed off that so many people are refusing to acknowledge that men’s and women’s bodies are different - not better, not worse, just different - in a way that affects sport performance, and those differences could mean women losing out on scholarships and competitive opportunities if male athletes are allowed to start competing directly against us.

Sex and gender identity are different, remember?

So why wasn’t it enough to allow trans individuals to identify how they want and live their lives in peace to the fullest extant possible, while still leaving just a few things sex-based, like competitive sports?

Why didn’t female athletes deserve to have that one thing?

I think this discussion came about from a man advocating for a return to handwashing clothes for climate conservation purposes. This is where I get problematic because messages about how small I need to live my life and how much energy I should save the planet by exerting my own and doing things manually will forever fall flat for me.

Respectfully, I will be utilizing every convenience and purchasing every energy-saving machine, gadget and gizmo. I think I would need to live 3 lifetimes to approach the energy consumption of even a moderately rich North American. Therefore, I will be CONSUMING. I WANT TO EAT THE WORLD. And I love how I need to give up hot showers and handwash clothes but nobody can be arsed to stop wars where energy is being used to make trillions of weapons to be dropped on infants. And yes people with say "B-but you have a personal responsibility"- sorry idgaf. I will pick up litter and recycle and not buy stupid plastic shit on Amazon, use one water bottle at a time and buy well made designer clothes that last decades instead of fast fashion- that's me doing my part.

one thing i noticed immediately after becoming a radfem is how FUCKING ANNOYING and off-putting it is to hear "creative" men talk about women...i used to love so many musicians, artists, screenwriters etc that talked about "women" as a monolith, as a subject...as an "object" of desire. now it just gives me the fucking creeps. cool that you're making money off of singing about us while still exploiting us and missing us...ok

Like literally, any crime show: murder occurs. We have so many men who could have done this! And this one woman who’s just a bystander, it totally can’t be her!

This also applies to women who complain about feminism requiring them to work, rather than being ‘ladies of leisure’. Women equivalent to them in the past always worked - who do they think were the maids, housekeepers, cooks, nannies, wet nurses, governesses, washerwomen, spinners, weavers, seamstresses, nurses, midwives, etc - and today’s equivalent of the past’s ladies of leisure can afford to be ladies of leisure now. Feminism fought for women’s work to be acknowledged, valued, and fairly paid, and that fight is still ongoing.

There is no actual situation where a draft is justified, in my opinion. If it's important enough to enslave random citizens, it's important enough to raise taxes until you can afford to pay people what they demand to volunteer.

Especially embarrassing when your GDP per capita is in the top 25, Finland. Yeah, you're next to your historical colonizer, but if you're not willing to raise taxes slightly then I don't think you really want to be independent.

Everytime a woman dies due to pregnancy or PPD the partner should always be put under scrutiny and held accountable.

If more men were held accountable for their actions (or inactions) I’m pretty sure we’d see more support from them for abortion and PPD support access.

i read that propublica article about that woman who died in georgia because her chronic health conditions meant she wouldn’t survive another pregnancy, but she got pregnant anyway. self-managed abortion went very very badly.

i feel so bad for her grieving husband and surviving children, yes. but.

but.

if you know your partner likely cannot survive another pregnancy, what’s stopping you from insisting on a vasectomy?

does she have to take full responsibility for birth control measures, or beg you to get on board? what is stopping YOU from stepping up immediately to save your partner’s life?

I dunno. I’m like 90% with you but I was on some IVF forums and some of those people are so weird.

“My sister is pregnant even though she knows I’ve had three rounds of failed IVF. I need to go NC” “yes that makes sense!”

“My friends know I’m doing IVF and when I go over their houses I find out their kids are there- it’s like a slap in my face!” “You need new friends - the least they can do is hire a babysitter to take the kids to the park for a few days!”

Some women really tie up their entire identity to having/being able to have children, to the point of taking other women having kids as a personal attack.

….and of course, if anyone is thinking about this they’re not mature enough to have kids anyway….

….however the need to actually punish the woman (report to HR) does scream “male” to me

My pregnant coworker knows i cant have kids but (i want at least one) yet she keeps purposely coming over to my desk and screaming about how happy she is and how wonderful pregnancy is and telling me (and only me) about every little aspect of being pregnant. Its killing me inside every time i see her and i really wish stop purposely trying to make me feel like shit. Hr doesnt care because they dont want a lawsuit for repremanding a pregnant person so i just gotta listen to her make me feel worthless i guess.

I’m trying to catalyze a change in supervision at my work and a coworker I’m friendly with (but who’s better friends with the supervisor) was all like “but whyyyy?” And I’m trying to bite my tongue and I just give a few small reasons.

And then they’re like “just don’t email her about it today because she has a lot of stuff going on today”

And it’s like….THAT. THAT is why I want a change in supervision. Because the sky is always fucking falling with this person and even if they’re having a personal crisis they cannot focus on THAT for one day.

I wouldn’t care if she didn’t check her email or respond to me today. I don’t care about that. But it’s that I can’t email her today because despite having a shit ton on her plate she will check her emails off hours and fly off the handle about it.

And I’m trying to get the shit off her plate and she’s MAD at me for it. I don’t understand
