♚ ▌█ THEY’D BEEN READING FOR HOURS, though he was uncertain of how many—time had grown nighirrelevant for the ancient king. It seemed both he and Merlin had grownaccustomed to one another’s company over the past few months.
Thoughthe Kingmaker had certainly grown bolder.
Theoffer hadn’t necessarily been expected, but Gil was hardly surprised at it allthe same. Merlin was a half-blood incubus after all and—much like his ancestors—hefed off the emotions and dreams of those around him. It was likely far moreefficient to do so while in physical contact with whomever happened to catch hiseye, if the Wise King of Uruk were to venture a guess.
Andto be honest, the blond was perhaps even more exhausted than usual—he’d felthimself beginning to drift in an out of an uneasy slumber as he attempted to readthe tome opened upon his lap. Perhaps that was part of what had prompted the ‘GrandCaster’ to so openly offer his own self as a pillow.
Anamused sound escaped the faux magus, ❝How bold of you, to think yourself worthyof having this king lay upon you.❞ Gilgamesh paused momentarily as heconsidered the offer. He had to admit he was tempted, despite knowing exactlywhat the other was. It would be mutually beneficial for them, as Merlin seemedto have been having difficulty sustaining himself since arriving on this mysteriousisland, and the other’s lap would likely serve as an adequate pillow for the ancient king. Perhaps he would have a decent night’s sleep for once...
❝Youmay rejoice, I’m feeling generous,❞ he replied at length before letting out a tiredsigh. Placing a bookmark between the pages, Gil closed the tome before setting itaside. Resituating himself, the male decided to sprawl out on the couch they’d beensharing. Head now resting upon the incubus’s lap.
Sharp, albeit weary, garneteyes opened and glanced up at the other’s face, monitoring his expression. ❝ You appear to be seeking out more reasons for physical contact lately. Howlong has it been since you last fed properly, Maker of Kings?❞ he inquired teasingly, lips quirked into a lazy smirk.

shutur-eli-sharri:
“There are two explanations, just like there are two of us.” Those eyes fell heavy, staring at him intently with those slit pupils. The dangerous closeness of lovers, that mortal distance no one could survive.
Fingers continued to slide down, a vertical line dividing that exquisite body.
“Summoned here to rule…,” Wipe out the civilization except for those willing to obey. “Or to reduce this whole place to cinders as the wisest judges.” He very well knew both ideas were unbearably cruel, and couldn’t wait to see the emotions painting that beautiful face.
Would it be a proud acceptance of their power as the one and only King? Or would there be a strange and inexplicable denial?
He was completely trespassing him, with the same dangerous confidence as a private reflection. How many times he had stood before mirrored gold, completely naked in his chambers as he planned the fate of Uruk?
“Someone like us will never exist like a mere pawn in a god’s game. We were summoned for a reason, or perhaps an inevitable variable of fate, a force of entropy in this artificial universe. Tell me, King of Uruk, what do you envision? Rows of slaves dressed in gold or a city reduced to ash?” His chin lifted, inches from the other, each word was a warm curse against his exposed neck.
♚ ▌█ AN EYEBROW ARCHED BRIEFLY AT HIS COUNTERPART’S CONCLUSIONS before his expression returned to that of an impartial king as he silently listened on. He remembered being a tyrant in his younger years—in many ways he still was—but to his recollection, never had he whittled down his options to only that of total destruction. It was true he ruled with a heavy hand, but civilization tended to collapse when faced with undue punishment. He was a harsh judge, yes, but he took pride in being a wise and lawful one.
Despite having been part of the Seventh Singularity, the Caster was still fully aware of how his life was meant to have panned out had the ‘King of Mages’ not provoked the awakening of Tiamat. That meant whatever had triggered this change in his Archer self had not happened in life, but rather during a summoning. Likely to a Holy Grail War.
But if that was true, what sort of trials had his counterpart undergone that had led to such an irregular state of mind? It was rare for gold to tarnish, and thus part of why he so adored and compared himself to the precious metal. Had someone or something caused his counterpart to lose some of that brilliant luster… it would have to be remedied. He would not tolerate any facet of himself to be tarnished in such a way. It seemed a polishing was in order.
❝ Only two? That’s surprisingly short-sighted of you, young king. Have you relied so heavily upon your clairvoyance that having it sealed has narrowed your mind? ❞ the faux magus questioned, grasping at the other’s wrist before his hand could continue its trek down the planes of his abdomen. Garnet gaze holding steady, he remained unperturbed by the Archer’s closeness. ❝ You are correct in assuming we are no pawns, but that does not mean others would not attempt such a heresy. ❞

When Gilgamesh wakes, there is a little package sitting outside of his door, his name scrawled across it in gold pen in a language no one has used in thousands of years. Inside is a gift certificate to a local massage parlor, and a copy of the Epic. The pages are dotted with commentary- some corrections, and others elaborations. The empty inside of the back cover simply says "Happy Valentines Day, Gil! -Enkidu"
♚ ▌█ A BLOND EYEBROW RAISED IN SUSPICION upon first glancing at the package, though garnet eyeswidened the slightest fraction upon recognizing the golden script. Suchpristine Sumerian could only have been written by one intimately familiar withthe ancient language, and that narrowed down the possible senders to only the smallesthandful. Amusement pulled at the corner of his lips as he retrieved the mysterygift.
Regalhands opened the package with ease, finding himself at a slight loss upon recognizingthe book: The Epic of Gilgamesh. He’d read a modern translation after arriving inChaldea, scoffing at the horrid mistranslations and missing texts. Flippingthrough this copy however, he found himself growing amused at the commentaryand corrections scrawled in the margins. It was akin to times long ago, as he’dlistened in as storytellers and bards sang praises of his adventures throughoutUruk.
Uponreaching the end, it came as no surprise to Gil that his suspicions regardingthe sender were correct. There were few others who knew the Epic so accurately—sointimately—but Enkidu had signed their name on the back all the same.
Valentine’sDay wasn’t something the King of Uruk had intended on celebrating, but… perhapshe would make an exception for the Chains of Heaven. ❝Only for you...❞ he remarked, laughing at himself inwardly. ❝I’llprocure a suitable gift in return, Enkidu, ❞ he murmured, despite knowing they were not there to hear him.
Hedidn’t suspect the other was looking to receive anything in return, but thatwas all the more reason he sought to bestow something worthy of their grandeur. For now however, he would enjoy the other’s offerings before bestowing a proper tribute in return.

﴾ ♚ ﴿ VALENTINE’S DAY? THAT’S WAS ALL THIS RUCKUS WAS ABOUT? The Caster barely refrained from rolling his eyes. Chaldea had gotten worked up over this holiday as well. Did mongrels really think they could convey an emotion such as love with a few chocolates and flowers? What a laugh. Love was far more complicated a thing than the span of twenty-four hours allowed one to convey.
On the other hand, it was only natural for humans to celebrate even the small victories and accomplishments—he knew as a king, it was often those little things that kept them pushing onward. Still...
❝ How utterly ridiculous… ❞ he murmured, watching as a stand capitalized on what some would argue was the most basic of human needs. Certainly it was fine to buy a gift for someone you were fond of, but to do so because a holiday dictated so was just idiocy.
Humans were such a beautifully hideous contradiction.

Enkidu had no idea who this ‘King of Mages’ was, but he must have been something to convince Gilgamesh to do something like this. They would have to ask around and see if anyone else had heard of him. They did not want to waste precious time with their friend asking questions about an unpleasant person.
“Regardless of the cause, I’m proud of you, Gil. It looks like you became a fine king.” They rocked back on their heels, abandoning their guard. He did seem settled. In some respects, they were disappointed. It seemed he’d reached his potential, which meant that he did not need them anymore. Surely, even as a weapon, they were obsolete. Kings on thrones did not need weapons. (But he still smiled for them. Warmth filled their chest.)
“I would not sacrifice our adventures for a thousand kingdoms,” they confessed, “Though do not tell Siduri or Shamhat that I’ve said so. They’d both scold me for it.”
﴾ ♚ ﴿ HEARING THE CHAINS OF HEAVEN give him words of praise made the king pause. They were proud of him? Those were… strange words to hear from the other’s lips, accustomed as he was to have them scold him in his younger years. ❝ Your praise is premature, Enkidu. By the time I returned from my journey mourning you, Siduri was the only citizen of Uruk who had stayed. And that was just so she could give me a severe tongue-lashing for having disappeared for so long, ❞ he couldn’t help but chuckle fondly at the memory.
❝ Thus you needn’t worry—I will keep your words for myself alone. I would hate to put you through that same sort of miserable tongue-lashing, ❞ the wise king teased with a slight smirk. Expression growing somewhat softer, he confessed ❝ Though I, too, would not trade our time or adventures together for anything. ❞ Enkidu’s friendship was, without question, the most precious gem he possessed. Nothing in his treasury could even hope to compare.
❝ Regardless, ❞ he proclaimed suddenly, his tone growing curious, ❝ this king grew tired upon his throne and wishes to hear of your adventures since we last saw one another. ❞ Though his expression remained calm, a spark in his eyes betrayed his excitement at longing to hear about their endeavors. Despite having settled onto his throne, Gil had never quite managed to rid himself of his wanderlust.

Poor image quality aside, can I just say that this was the single most anticipated conversation of Babylonia for me? Earlier, Caster Gil insists that he hasn’t changed at all since returning from his journey, but that’s incredibly hard to believe, especially after this conversation.
We know Kingu is a very unique case, but the fact that Gilgamesh is offering to protect the other and going so far as to offer his friendship of all things--something Archer Gil has proclaimed belongs solely to Enkidu--is HUGE.

shutur-eli-sharri:
The fathomless abyss stared right back at him, the spiraling darkness of oblivion it beckoned him to fall, promising the secrets of the universe unwoven.
Until that voice pierced his mind. That voice, his own voice. Gilgamesh turned back to see the striking beauty of a living mirror. It was him and it wasn’t. the unmistakable aura of a king but also a sage. Even his eyes seemed brighter than rubies, freed of the embittering darkness of defeat.
His mind slowly overcoming the wordless fascination. He couldn’t allow himself completely vulnerable and exposed. If they were the same, then they would both expect the best of each other. Like a beautiful golden blade kissing his neck.
“Hours ago the gods dared to challenge me. And challenge you…, do I stand before the darkness and light of mankind? The one whose fate wasn’t immortality but to be remembered longer than any other man?”
He slowly sashayed towards him, like a cat walking on sand, both stood at the verge of the abyss. A hand rose, shimmering with gold as it tried to press against the other’s chest. His red eyes narrowing, inspecting him, appreciating every detail almost with thirst.
﴾ ♚ ﴿ THE CASTER REMAINED IN PLACE, watching with mild amusement as the other withdrew from the edge of the abyss in favor of approaching him with a catlike gait. As the fellow KING stood but a few feet from him, he allowed his counterpart to press a hand upon his chest. There were few he would allow such an HONOR, but he was willing to make an exception for his own self. It was peculiar, seeing one’s own self in such a manner.
Sharp, serpentine eyes observed the other carefully, making note of the minute differences in their appearances. This variation appeared a few years younger—before his fabled JOURNEY, perhaps? Or a brief time after? It was difficult to determine the exact point at which he’d been summoned, but Gil felt he’d narrowed down the range accurately, at least.
In answer to his question, the ANCIENT KING declared, his garnet gaze nearly glowing, ❝ You stand before the one who defied the will of the heavens and ended the Age of Gods, ushering forth in its stead the Era of Humanity. There is no other I could be, ❞ he continued, lips quirking into a slight smirk, ❝ but the True King, Gilgamesh. ❞
❝ And you are, undoubtedly, the King of Heroes, ❞ he proclaimed, inspecting the NOBLE features of the other’s face. There was no mistaking those eyes—even with that unfamiliar spark within them. He’d always been a prideful, egotistic man, but to have that NIGH HUNGRY look aimed at himself was new.
❝ They are quite bold, the gods that rule this island, ❞ he couldn’t help but comment. ❝ To have summoned forth one Golden King is audacious enough. But two? I have to wonder if they’re just being foolish, or if they have some other grand scheme they’re devising. ❞

I know this is super late, but I just posted my drabble for part two of Subversion, which more or less concludes Subversion Casgil’s role for this event. However, if anyone would like to interact with Subversion Casgil, it’ll be before the events of the drabble in which Caster Gilgamesh tracks him down. subversion — pt. ii
﴾ ♚ ﴿ There was something calming about staring at the waves crashing repeatedly upon the shore, the rhythmic sound nearly lulling the man into a hypnotic trance. How many times had he appreciated this very sight from the comfort of the casino he’d built? As he was now though…
❝ You’ve chosen not to retreat? That’s quite bold of you, little fragment. ❞
Scarlet eyes reluctantly tore away from the sight of the serene ocean, choosing instead to study the mirrored existence—though in reality, he himself was the mirrored image. A strange truth to swallow, but one he had already come to terms with. After all, it was nigh impossible to deny that reality upon seeing the King of Men standing before him, clad in the majestic garments of a bygone era.
❛ How strange. I’ve shared a face with my brother my whole life and yet… Gazing upon you feels intrinsically different, ❜ the clone murmured, serpentine eyes lingering on his regal features. There was a wisdom there he had never seen reflected in his brother’s eyes. A certain understanding of the world that they both shared…
❝ Your ‘brother’ was likely borne from my Archer self. There are few differences between us, but they are there all the same. It seems this island has further complicated the already complex matters of the Throne with your existence. ❞
A dry laugh left his lips then, ❛ Is that right? Well, I certainly won’t say I’m sorry. ❜
❝ If you had tried, I would have liberated your head from your shoulders before the words had left your lips. ❞ The Caster’s eyes closed then, ❝ A king does not apologize, and nor does he regret. So, tell me, ❞ he paused briefly before reopening his piercing ruby gaze, ❝ are you satisfied with the illusion of a life you lived? ❞
For a moment, the replica could only stare as those sharp eyes locked with his own, feeling as though the other sought to penetrate and dissect his very soul. ❛ Do you not also possess those memories? ❜ he inquired, somewhat doubtful. ❛ Can you not answer that question yourself? ❜
❝ I see your memories as I am, not as you are, ❞ the King of Uruk explained, crossing his arms as he approached. ❝ I do not possess the same perspective as you, little remnant, and it is that perspective I am interested in. ❞
❛ Is that right… ❜ he muttered.
❝ Do yourself the honor and regale me your tale. I’d like to hear it from your own lips, how a young man builds a kingdom in this modern world. ❞
❛ You enjoy hearing yourself talk, ❜ the replica couldn’t help but laugh, amused at the prospect. ❛ Not that I wasn’t already privy to that information. I suppose I have little else to do with the remainder of my time. ❜
The king’s lips pulled into a small smirk, ❝ Your accomplishments, your hardships, your sorrows, and your joys—I will do you the honor of listening to the words that spill from your tongue. ❞
It wasn’t quite cruel, that curve upon the other’s lips, but it certainly wasn’t pity either. The casino owner couldn’t help but let out a short laugh, ❛ Very well. I suspect this will not change the ending one way or another. ❜
❝ It seems you possess both my wisdom and perceptiveness, ❞ the ancient king seemed almost pleased. ❝ You are correct, ❞ he affirmed with a nod, a stoic expression falling back into place. ❝ I have no way to confirm nor refute the information relayed to me regarding your situation. And though I do not fear death as I am, there is still much to discover on this strange island. I have not time to waste on something so trivial as death. ❞
❛ Then I shall ease your boredom for a time, Golden King, ❜ he declared, an amused curve pulling at the corner of his lips. ❛ After that… well, you may do as you will. ❜ It wasn’t as though he had the strength to resist the other’s verdict. Even as a mere human he could sense the difference in their power, and if judgement was going to be passed either way, he would face it with both dignity and pride.
❝ I will commit your words to memory before I send you on your way. Do not disappoint me, bold, little replica. ❞
A brief, bark of a laugh escaped the clone then, ❛ Hah! This is not for your sake, True King. Whatever fate awaits me, I will confront it as I always have. ❜
At the other’s words the King of Uruk allowed a near face-splitting grin to grace his lips, ❝ Very good! Show me the limits of that lustrous, polished shine! For however short it may be, this king will be your audience. ❞

@flodeuyn | continued from ❁
﴾ ♚ ﴿ THE ANCIENT KING HAD FOUND HIMSELF SPENDING MORE TIME with the Magus of Flowers as of late. Despite the other’s antics posing an annoyance from time to time, he still found the other’s company agreeable, especially when compared to many of the other residents of this strange city. The two of them had formed… something akin to an alliance? Having ‘summoned’ Merlin once before, the King of Men occasionally found himself considering the mage a vassal of sorts. Or perhaps even something like an advisor…
Not that he required the other’s help, of course. It was likely he’d merely grown accustomed to having Siduri around back in Uruk and Merlin was acting as a reasonable substitute.
At least, that was the reasoning he provided for himself.
Though there was a chill in the air, Gilgamesh noted absentmindedly, after having sent the other off to fetch him something to drink. Glancing around the small room—( honestly, who designed these bedchambers? They were entirely inadequate! )—serpentine eyes spotted the signature cloak worn by the infamous mage. The colors weren’t so much to his tastes, but it would likely prove acceptable for the time being.
Draping the fabric over his shoulders, the king pulled the hood over his head as to help keep himself warm. As he did, the distinct smell that was undoubtedly Merlin washed over him. Floral, unsurprisingly, and Gilgamesh found himself wondering if this was the scent of Avalon’s unique blooms. Beyond that however, there was a hint of something more exotic and alluring—due to his half-breed blood, perhaps? Everything about an incubus was meant to entice their prey and lull them into a daze. It made sense that even their scent was another weapon in their arsenal.
When the Caster in question returned with a bottle of wine, Gilgamesh couldn’t help but be inwardly amused at the other’s expression upon seeing the King of Uruk draped in his cape and hood. The half-breed was quick to recover however, offering an earnest compliment accompanied by an amused spark in his own eyes. The contemplative expression on Merlin’s face had the faux magus wondering if the other was appraising him—not that Gil could fault him for it. He was the epitome of both human and godly beauty, having been designed as such.
And that brief, almost hungry glint in the other’s gemlike eyes did not go unnoticed.
As Merlin hurriedly moved away to pour each of them a glass of wine, the regal man felt his lips twitch in amusement. How long had it been since the other had last ‘fed?’ Or was it this scenario that had the half-breed’s incubus instincts acting up?
Deciding to grace the mage’s question with an answer, he explained nonchalantly, ❝ There’s a chill in the air today. I used your cloak to amend the problem. ❞ Though the cold was likely due to both the time of year and that he hadn’t bothered to switch into his modern clothing. Excessive amounts of heat tended to make him drowsy, thus why his usual garments of choice displayed… more than he generally allowed most mongrels to see.
Still, Merlin’s offer to allow him to borrow the mantle took him slightly by surprise. ❝ Is that right? ❞ he inquired with an almost playful lilt in his voice. ❝ Would that bring you some amount of satisfaction, Kingmaker? ❞ he teased. ❝ Seeing this King of Men don your cloak whensoever he visits? ❞

shutur-eli-sharri:
He reveled in those eyes, so similar to his own. The same deep red color, the same sharp pupils, yet, there was indescribable wisdom in his gaze. Something he lacked, something he still had to claim, something his whole treasury couldn’t provide him. It made him jealous. Perhaps it was the moment the other had claimed as his own when that changed him in ways he could not understand
“That’s always the problem, isn’t it?” He protested, taking a step back, his gaze cast to the nearest relic mutely standing under the lights.
“Your…obligations.” His eyes narrowed, glaring at that treasure. A dagger with a zoomorphic hilt, a ruby-studded dragon, a tail wrapped around the grip attacking a lion which in return attacked a deer, all standing on a floral scroll neatly engraved in bronze.
“You should abandon them.” He sentenced. “Allow lesser beings to manage the Casino.”
“You are a King, this is your place, surrounded by these treasures. You belong to the heavens, just like me. They are unworthy of your presence. Those gamblers, those harlots you call entertainers… Though the bartender is fine, he has done a proper job.”
﴾ ♚ ﴿ IT WASN’T SURPRISING THAT HIS BROTHER IGNORED HIS ATTEMPT at swiftly changing the focus of their conversation. In fact, he had somewhat expected it. It seemed whenever Gil’s absence regarding the museum was mentioned, they fell into this UNPLEASANT discussion. And here he’d been hoping to avoid it this time…
As the other stepped back, gaze falling to one of his many intricate TREASURES, the elder brother sighed inwardly. It seemed Gilgamesh remained as stubborn in his views regarding Gil’s endeavors as he had always been. Though it was amusing to note that he apparently approved of Merlin as a bartender. He’d have to remember to find a suitable REWARD for the man later for having garnered even his brother’s APPROVAL…
❝ A KING I might be, ❞ he began, his voice steady and sharp, ❝ but a rather poor one I would make were I to abandon the very kingdom I founded. Do you not agree? ❞ he questioned rhetorically before continuing. ❝ Mongrels or not, they are mine to maintain and to manage. I do what I do because I find value in it—not unlike how you gather your treasures. However, ❞ he began to elaborate, that hard-earned WISDOM SPILLING from his tongue, ❝ you have yet to comprehend that not every treasure you seek to possess can be contained, let alone flourish, within these walls. ❞
The elder sibling allowed his voice to grow SOFTER then, ❝ I am your brother, Gilgamesh. I come here because I enjoy your presence and revel in your company. I may have other commitments, but I will always make time to return here for you. Is that unsatisfactory? ❞

Enkidu cocked their head in amusement. It was true. They’d sensed his presence the moment he’d arrived, and they had not sought him out. He had every right to scold them in turn. Perhaps they’d been nervous that he wouldn’t want to see them. They’d never been happier to be wrong.

“Perhaps I was not sure that it was really you. After all, you look so mature. I could hardly recognize you!” The tilt of their smile and tone of their voice belied their amusement.
They stepped closer, weight balanced on their toes. It wouldn’t do to be caught off guard. “Did you finally settle into your throne? I thought I’d never see the day!”
﴾ ♚ ﴿ THE KING’S SLIGHT SMIRK REMAINED IN PLACE, even as the other teased him for his change in appearance. With a quiet scoff he commented, ❝ You exaggerate, Enkidu. My form has shifted merely to mock the one who named himself the ‘King of Mages.’ I remain as glorious as ever. ❞ Different as he was, some things would never change…
Gilgamesh welcomed their approach, amused though he was at seeing them remain on guard, balanced almost like a CAT ready to PLAY. At their words, the king barely restrained himself from rolling his eyes. ❝ Unfortunately, ❞ he answered with a wry smile. ❝ I spent far more time on that throne than I would have liked. ❞ With Uruk facing one of the largest CRISES the world had ever seen, it was hardly surprising that even the KING had been worked to the bone.
❝ You should be happy I didn’t settle into it sooner, ❞ he continued, GARNET eyes sliding closed as he replayed the events of that singularity in his mind. ❝ To journey alongside you would have been a freedom lost to me the moment I sat upon the throne. ❞ In that sense he was grateful it had taken him so long to rule as something more than just a tyrant.

@gcldenking | continued from ➢
It was always a surprise to meet those that were involved in the Singularity under his care, always a blind guess regarding what they remembered and how they’d react to his presence. It isn’t the first time, it will not be last, and yet the sight of a certain King shook him more than the rest. So he’d simply observed and waited for a reaction he could read. A moment of surprise, a look of recognition. “Gilgamesh.”
And the response he gets is almost enough to make him scoff. How insufferably bold of this King to greet him with amusement, of all things. “It has been too long if you think me the type that’d care about something like that.” Despite himself, he returns the words in kind. There’s an inner pull towards that familiarity, one he had never indulged nor acknowledged.
And it still feels wrong, just as it had back on that hill, but he lets his feet carry him closer to the Caster. “I can’t say I’m surprised to find you here.” He can’t quite make out what he feels at the moment.
﴾ ♚ ﴿ ❝ NO, I’D IMAGINE HUMAN CUSTOMS AREN’T SOMETHING you’d put too much thought into, ❞ the king replied with a quiet chuckle, satisfied the other hadn’t lost that plucky SPIRIT of his. He would have been sorely disappointed otherwise.
Kingu certainly wasn’t Enkidu, but neither could he deny the almost gravitational pull he felt regarding the other due to their peculiar connection. It was that near MAGNETIC FORCE that had pushed Gilgamesh into readily offering his own HOLY GRAIL as the clay creature lay dying. It was natural to feel drawn to the other, the wise king knew, and thus it had felt natural to offer even that small kindness—that FRIENDSHIP—to Kingu in turn. And Gil must have struck some CHORD within the other, as with his remaining moments, the incarnated Noble Phantasm had joined in his battle against the primordial goddess.
As the AVENGER approached, the faux magus did similar, closing the distance between them until there were perhaps three paces between them. ❝ This island seems to have a penchant for Heroic Spirits, amongst various other peculiarities, ❞ Gilgamesh agreed, scarlet gaze LINGERING upon the other’s familiar features. ❝ Though I’ll admit to being somewhat astonished at finding you here, albeit... not unpleasantly so. ❞
