We have always known the shady AF deal for 666 Fifth which was said to be “ worth a lot more if it was just dirt" had something to do with Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, the Qatar Investment Authority, and Jared Kushner’s work in the White House & many of his trips to the UAE

You didn't even have to be paying strict attention to know Jared pushed for closer ties with Saudi Arabia during a May 2017 visit to the Arab nation.

A month later, Saudi Arabia joined several countries in breaking relationships with Qatar and imposing a blockade

2 months later, Qatar’s leader visited the White House and Trump officials called for an end to the blockade.

In their letter, the committees said the Trump administration’s support for the blockade “evaporated shortly after Charles Kushner’s discussion with Brookfield,” but they did not supply evidence that the two events are linked.

The following month, Brookfield and the Kushner real estate company confirmed that they were negotiating a deal on the Fifth Avenue building.

In multiple communities all over the USA and Canada, every pediatric hospital bed is full, mostly with babies and toddlers who have severe respiratory infections. It seems to be a combination of flu, RSV and COVID, sometimes more than one at a time in the same child.

We can sort out why this happened later. Right now, there’s an emergency that should be front page news, and isn’t, and the best way to stop it is to reduce the circulation of all respiratory viruses in our communities by masking everyone who can mask, before babies start dying because there isn’t enough care to go around.

Get your current flu shot and bivalent COVID booster if you haven’t already, but also please mask now.

I found myself thinking, in the fifth decade of her career in public service, about what formed Pelosi into herself — her insistence on decorum and politeness on protocol even when it must have masked despair or frustration. The kind of woman who, in the middle of the chaotic and terrifying Jan. 6 riot, was captured on camera calmly strategizing how to conduct the business of Congress  despite the “poo-poo” that had befouled the Capitol.

She was a woman of a certain age who came into her political life at a certain time, a girl whose father was her introduction to elected office in a time of patriarchal politics, a mother with five grown children by the time she made her own first run for Congress.

The answer to why she couldn’t “read those GOP men to their faces” is that rules were different for women, then and to a lesser extent now. Donald Trump can take a paintball gun to government norms and protocols, but to combat him Nancy Pelosi could only color within the lines, neatly and carefully, always keeping the big picture in mind.

She shepherded through the Affordable Care Act, the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay act, the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. The more she accomplished, the more she was reviled by the right. If you can’t beat her, the thinking seemed to go, then make a bunch of sexist, ageist memes accusing her of witchcraft. A few days after her husband was attacked in their home by a man with a hammer, Trump told attendees at a rally, “I think she’s an animal.”

Pelosi would have never said such a thing from a podium. But last month, her daughter released private footage of her mother on the day of the Jan. 6 riots. In the video, shot before the invasion began, Pelosi was told that Trump was planning to come to the Capitol. “If he comes, I’m going to punch him out,” she said. “I’ve been waiting for this. For trespassing on the Capitol grounds, I’m going to punch him out.”

Listening to her say this gave you an inkling of how strenuously this woman, the vast majority of the time, must be French-pressing her rage.

It also gives you an inkling of how deeply she believes in good, orderly government. In this private moment, her rage toward Trump was not because he had offended her, but because he might offend the Capitol grounds.

Too many folks don’t know that Musk is not an engineer. He is not an inventor. He is not a creator. He is a person whose fortune began with enslaved human beings pulling emeralds out of a mine. He is a person who has literally bought everything, including his titles and status in every company all these dummies believe he founded.

He is NOT a good person. He is a rich person, and way too many people think they are the same thing.

If he had ANY seriousness about making a single thing better in this world for the uncountable number of human beings who are suffering right now, and not just getting attention or cosplaying as Tony Stark, he would have done it by now.

Way too many people admire the myth, while they ignore the truth of the shitty billionaire who smeared a literal hero who saved children’s lives as a “pedo”, because Musk’s ego got bent out of shape when he couldn’t make something the world cared about all about himself. He has numerous children, who he has just abandoned. His factories are consistently reported as being toxic, racist, environments. And all these folks are like, “yeah but rockets.” Do you even hear yourselves?

He’s awful. All these things y'all claim he’s “making” are coming from actual geniuses who do actual work. He could fund all their work, and really change the world in meaningful, tangible, immediate ways with his fortune, without being the poster child for fragile male egos. But he doesn’t. And way too many people are totally cool with that.

You view your economic stability as a blessing. You give to others like you were given to. I'm so angry that the media, not just the expected right wing hatemonger networks, but lefty media & the MSM keep trashing him over one stupid mistake that he apologized to all for, & had years of therapy to discover why he had an actual sex addiction & to make sure he would never do that again. Contrary to the bs you hear in MSM & lefty media, Bill was and is firmly left of center & was so as President. DADT was decidedly left of center in the 90's. He tried first to get the military to accept homosexuals to serve openly in the military. The military absolutely refused. He then offered them Don't Ask Don't Tell, & the military reluctantly accepted that. DOMA was a protective action to prevent Republicans & conservative Democrats from passing an amendment to the constitution that would ban same sex marriage. An Act has an ending date. Bill hoped, correctly that attitudes would become more accepting of homosexuality over time. Bill poured millions of federal funds into AIDS research. He got semi automatic weapons banned for the rest of his term. Economic disparity across all races and wage classes had it's biggest drop during Bill's administration. Everyone prospered during the 90's, crime dropped, women moved into careers formerly blocked to them, the environment improved, etc... This is why Republicans hate him & hate Hillary even more, because, they know Hillary is even more left of center than Bill. In fact on human rights issues Hillary has a more progressive record (both votes & accomplishments) than Biden, Obama, Bernie, the squad, etc... She had the most progressive voting record & accompliments of anyone that has run for President.
