SOMEONE HUG HER. SHE NEEDS A HUG. She blames herself for fainting and killing the kid now that she knows warmth. She didn't care much about it until Mahiru taught her what warmth was. I also feel that she blames herself for the, what, 0.1% failure rate of contraceptives. Her wheel of fate just happened to land on that. Ok. I'ma just list what she blames herself for.

The MV feels like her current self looking back on her past self, which I love. All of the imagery too. AND THE QUALITY! SHEEEEEESH! God, I love this MV so much.

Like Haruka, Yuno's birth year doesn't line up perfectly to 2020. If she was born in 2004, she would have been 16, which is also the age she was originally supposed to be. In her first VD, she said that she was 16, but Yamanaka tweeted that it was a mistake and that she was 18. So right now, it seems that MILGRAM takes place in 2022.

Pre-Release Trailer

I've started to work on the pre-release trailer. This is also for a class. This time, it's for my Commercial Production class. It's based off of the first PV that was released for MILGRAM. A lot of the information is just a placeholder until I have the correct information.

Other Stuff

The past month I've been sorta burnt out on and off. So I haven't done as much work as I wanted to. I've worked on some music and the poster a little. I recorded like, 10 lines of the voice over. The VO edit is progressing nicely. I've gotten the first 2 batches back from my guy.

Estimated Release Date Correction

In my last update, I said that I was pushing back the release date due to technical issues, and in the research doc, the release was set as summer 2025. What I forgot to mention in the last update was that I've decided to turn what was originally a project for my documentary class into my capstone because of its size. What that means is that it's pretty much going to be my final project now. So now I'm fixing the estimated release to the fall since that is what I meant for it to be. Sorry for any confusion!

I started to record the voiceover, and while I was doing that, I made a post on Reddit asking for a plugin that could remove my inhales to an extent so editing would be easier. Through that, a guy reached out to me and offered his services. So the VO will be edited by a professional!

Promo Cut

Since this is also for a class, I'm making a shorter version that I'm calling the "Promo Cut" because of how much is going to be missing from this version. It'll be uploaded as promotional material at most a month before the release and will also act like a reference edit if I decide to hire an assistant editor.

Some Changes w/ The Production Schedual

So, originally, I was planning for the Spring/Early Summer release. But with the amount of footage I have and the fact that there were a few small issues with the cameras, I'll be pushing the release back to the second half of the year. It would be cool if I could release this on August 13th, but I won't promise any date yet until this is about 90% done.

呆れた様子で見ながら、ため息をつくエス。

ムウ　「ぐす......っ......うう......」

エス　「おい、いつまで泣いている囚人番号4番ムウ。尋問が始められないだろう」

ムウ　「......尋問って何絶対ひどい目に合うんだ......やだ......」

エス　「そんなことはしない、と何度も言っているだろう。もう5分経っている、時間は有限なんだぞ」

ムウ　「ぐすっ、信じられるわけないもん......こんな変なところに連れてくる人が......変なことしないわけないもん」

頑として聞かないムウに頭を悩ますエス。

エス　「気持ちはわからんでもないが......話を聞くだけだ。お前の罪を判断するための参考にな」

ムウ　「......本当に話だけ？」

エス　「あぁ。それが僕の方針だ。暴力を用いての拷問や脅迫などはするつもりはない。僕なりにきちんとお前らのことを知りたいからな」

エスの瞳を見て、ゆっくりと口を開くムウ。

ムウ　「......楠:夢羽。15歳。あと何を言えばいいの......」

エス　「ふむ。......少し気になっていたんだが、その顔だち、ハーフというやつか？」

ムウ　「うん......ダブル。ママがフランスの人。日本生まれ日本育ちだけどね......」

エス　「ふむ。その容姿だと、さぞ目立ったことだろうな」

ムウ　「うん......そうだね......おうちもお金持ら、やっかみとか、たくさん......」

エス　「ふぅん......そういうものか」

ナチュラルに自慢を混ぜるムウ。興味なさげなエス。

エス　「ミルグラムの生活はどうだ？」

さみしげなムウ。再び涙ぐみはじめる。

ムウ　「だいたいなんなの、ここ。なんでムウがこんなとこに連れてこられなきゃいけないの......」

エス　「簡単な話だ。ヒトゴロシだからだろう」

涙まじりのムウを意に介さず続けるエス。

エス　「ミルグラムはヒトゴロシを集めてくる。そこは間違いないようだ」

ヒトゴロシの言葉に反応して前のめりになるムウ。

ムウ　「ヒトゴロシ、って......なんでそんなひどいこというの！ムウ悪くないもん！」

エス　「ふぅん......殺してない、とは言わないんだな」

ムウ　「そ、それは......」

エス　「それは？」

もじもじと言いよどむムウ。

ムウ　「......んん」

エス　「どうした？」

ムウ　「......殺したよ。でもあっちが悪いんだよ。殺さなきゃいけないくらい、ムウ辛かったんだもん」

下を向いたまま口をとがらせるムウ。

エス　「報復、ということか......」

ムウ　「たしかに殺したかもしれないけど、そうじゃなきゃ逃げられなかったんだし、ムにひどいことすほうが悪いもん......」

エス　「ふむ......続けろ」

ムウ　「殺しちゃ駄目って言うなら、ムウはずっとつらい思いをしとけばよかったってことなの？」

開き直るムウ。

エス　「ふむ。理由はどうあれ、お前は明確に殺意をもって人を　「殺しているな」

ムウ　「なに......それがどうしたの......？」

エス　「『うちへ帰して』と言っていたな。仮に......だが、ここを出られても、警察の世話になることになるだろう？」

エスのくちぶりに身体をこわばらせるムウ。

エウ　「......！」

エス　「そもそもムウが人を殺したことについて、警察は動いていないのか？」

ムウ　「知らないよ......やっちゃった後からしばらく記憶がハッキリしないもん。気付いたらここにいたし......」

エス　「そう、なのか......」

初めて知る事実に少し驚くエス。その様子に頬を膨らませるムウ。

ムウ　「自分たちが連れてきたくせに......」

エス　「ふむ......ミルグラムには10人の『ヒトゴロシ」が収監されている。どうもこれは日本の法律に照らした殺人犯や犯罪者に限った話ではないようだ。ミルグラム独自の広義のヒトゴロシのようだ。それは何人かに話を聞き、わかってきた」

ムウ　「そう......なの？」

エス　「ただ、ムウ。オマエは殺意も明確。シンプルだ。オマエたちがいうところの刑法119条殺人罪というものに当てはまるだろう」

ムウ　「知らないムウそんなの詳しくない......」

エス　「言っとくが僕も別に詳しくない。参考までに書庫にある資料で調べただけだ。••••••ここで重要なのはお前たちの法律に照らせばアウトだという事実だ」

バッサリ切り捨てるエスに不満げなムカ

ムウ　「しょ、少年法っていうのがあるんじゃないの......」

エス　「ある。だが、16歳以上であれ���刑事裁判を受け、懲役だ:死刑こそ免れるようだがな。ムウが望むようなマトモな生活は送れないだろう」

ムウ　「ちょ、懲役......やだ、そんなの......」

エス　「やだといって聞いてくれるものか」

ムウ　「やだなの！！」

子供のように駄々をこねるムウ。それを見て少しおかしくなるエス。

エス　「くっくっくミルグラムは僕の方針で囚人たちに相当自由を与えているが、実際の刑務所はそうはいかないだろうな。もちろんミルクレープもなしだ」

ムウ　「やだ、やだよ......おかしいよ、ムウ悪くないのに懲役なんて......そんなのおかしい」

エス　「そうだな......じゃあ、こう考えてみろ。..ミルグラムは法律からオマエを守っていると」

思いがけない言葉にきょとんとするムウ。

ムウ　「ま、守ってる？ムウを？」

エス　「そうだ。ミルグラムは現状、あくまで現状だが、法律を善悪の基準としていない。最終的に僕がどう思うかでしかない」

頬を膨らませるムウ。

ムウ　「看守さんの言ってること難しくてわからない......もっとわかりやすく言ってほしいよ」

エス　「『私は悪くない』ずっと、オマエはそう言っているだろう......そのとおりだ。殺人それ自体はミルグラムでは罪ではない」

ムウ　「......そうだよね？悪くないよね？」

エス　「そうだ。最終的に僕もお前は悪くないと思うかもしれない。僕がムウのことを知り、ムウと同じ感覚であれば、オマエは赦されるだろう」

ムウ　「......看守さん......」

言葉尻だけで、エスを味方だと感じ安堵するムウ。

意地悪そうに笑むニス。

エス　「赦されたければ......そこに賭けるしかないんだよ。オマエは」

ムウ　「ど、どうすればいいの？どうすれば看守さんは赦してくれるの？ムウ、なんでもするよ？あっ、痛いこととか恥ずかしいことはやだけど......あと、怖いのもやだ......」

エス　「お前な......」

ムウ　「だってそうでしょ？つまり看守さんに気に入られればいいんでしょ？ムウ言うこと聞く。何すればいいの？」

エス　「......さぁな。殊勝な態度だが、僕がどう考えるかは僕もわからない」

ムウ　「え......？」

エスの言葉に違和感を覚え、顔が険しくなるムウるエス。

エス　「ふふ。それこそ、オマエが美人だから赦す。美人だから赦さないもあり得るという話だ。それを決めるのがミルグラムだからな」

ムウ　「ちょ、ちょっと待って看守さん。......あの......」

エス　「なに、ちょっとしたジョークだ。僕次第ではそうなる可能性も......」

ムウ　「いや、そうじゃなくて......気になるんだけど......」

言いよどむムウ。その様子にようやく気づくエス。

エス　「......？どうした？言ってみろ」

ムウ　「看守さん。なんで全部他人事みたいなの？」

エス　「......え？」

ムウ　「どうなるかわからない........って。自分の話なのに......なんでそんな他人事みたいなの......」

エス　「何を......言っている......」

ムウ　「え？だって、お、おかしいよ。看守さんの意思で決めるんでしょ。看守さんが今どう思ってるのか聞いてるのに......」

ムウの言葉を頭が理解するのを拒み、言葉が出ない。

息が吸い込めないエス。

ムウ　「ねぇ」

エス　「......」

ムウ　「看守さんの言う僕って......誰？」

エス　「......ッ......ぁ......」

ムウ　「看守さん......？」

様子のおかしいエスに気づき、心配そうなムウ。

椅子を倒し、床に手をつくエス。

エス　「......ッ......ァ......ハァ！ハァ！ハァ！」

ムウ　「看守さん！どうしたの！！看守さん！！」

エスに駆け寄り、背中をさするムウ。

ムウ　「ねぇ、看守さん！！！」

エス　「うるさい！！さわるな！！」

ムウ　「ひっ！」

その手を思いっきり振り払うエス。

感情を爆発させたエスに、悲鳴をあげるムウ。

何が起きたかわからず、目を丸くするが、状況がわ

かり、徐々に目から涙が溢れ出す。

エス　「ハァ......ハァ......」

ムウ　「ひ......ひ............ひどいぃぃ......ムウ心配しただけなのにぃ......」

エス　「......」

ムウ　「ぐす......ぐす............もうやだぁ......看守さん嫌いぃ〜......」

突然どこからともなくドスッと机の上に乗っかってくるジャッカロープ。驚くムウ。

ムウ　「キャッ......ぐす......うさ、ジャッカロープ......どこから......？」

エス　「......ジャッカロープ......？」

ジャッカロープはエスに何かを話しかけている。ただその声はムウには聞こえない。そのため見てはいけないものを見るような表情のムウ。

エス　「あぁ......わかってる......わかってるよ......」

ムウ　「う、うさぎと喋ってる......？」

エス　「......言われるまでもない僕にもわからないが、もう大丈夫だ。行ってくれ。僕の仕事だから......ああもう......うるさいな。保護者じゃないんだから、小言はもういい......行け！」

満足気にジャッカロープが去っていく。見送るムウ。

ムウ　「......ジャッカロープ、行っちゃった......」

エス　「......はぁ、すまない、取り乱した」

ムウ　「......おかしくなっちゃったの......？看守さん......」

エス　「いや、ジャッカロープの声は僕にしか聞こえないんだ」

ムウ　「あぁ......完全におかしくなっちゃってるんだ......」

エス　「違う。憐れみの目で見るな」

憐れみの目で見ていたムウ。ぷっと吹き出す。

ムウ　「ぷっ......」

エス　「あん？」

ムウ　「ふっ......うふふふ、変なの......」

エス　「......なんだ。さっきまで泣いていたくせに」

ムウ　「なんかもう......ワケわからないことが続いて、一周回っちゃった......難しいこと言ってたと思ったら、うさぎと話しだすし......ふふふ」

にやけるのが止まらないムウ。少し馬鹿にされているようで不服なエス。

エス　「......」

ムウ　「なんだっけ......何を聞こうとしてたかも忘れちゃったいいや、怖くなくなったし......」

エス　「はぁ、それはなによりだ」

すべきことがわかり、声に明るさが出てくるムウ。

ムウ　「つまり、看守さん好みの人になればいいんだよね。そしたら赦してもらえるんだ......」

エス　「......そういうことになるか？」

ムウ　「そうだよ。看守さんも人間だし。ムウがんばる。看守さんの好みを知るよ......うさぎと話す可哀想な人だけど。ぶふつ......]

エス　「もうそれでいい。お前との話はテンポが悪くてかなわん」

ムウ　「ムウ、絶対帰るから......パパとママの元へ帰るんだもん......赦してもらえればきっと帰れるよね？」

エス　「......知らないけどな......」

ムウの希望的観測に対して、聞こえないように呟くエス。

聞こえないムウは笑顔を見せ始める。

ムウ　「うん、やっぱり......考えてみれば全然悪くないムウを捕まえようとする駄目な警察よりも、ミルグラムの方がいいかも」

エス　「はぁ......まぁ、それはそれでいいか......大人しく尋問を受けてくれるなら......」

突如部屋にある時計から鐘の音がなり、部屋の構造が変化していく。

ムウ　「きゃあ......何？壁が動いてる......何が起きてるの？」

エス　「はぁ......もう時間か···......あまり話せた気がしないが、まぁいい。お前の心の中、覗かせてもらう」

ムウ　「......歌にするってやつい、痛くない？」

エス　「多分な」

ムウ　「......痛いならやだ。やらない......」

エス　「駄目に決まっているだろう。痛くないから安心しろ！」

ムウ　「じゃあやってもいいよ......」

エス　「はぁ......そもそも選べるものじゃない」

ムウ　「看守さん、せっかくやるんだから、ちゃんと見ててね。ムウ、絶対悪くないか......仕方ないって思うはずだか......」

エス　「あぁ、見せてもらうとするよ」

妖しく笑うムウ。

ムウ　「......変な判断したら、赦さないからね」

エス　「......っ」

その雰囲気に一瞬気圧され、息を飲むエス。

エス　「僕を、馬鹿にするなよ」

ムウの肩に手を載せるエス。

FOOL's MATE Update Post #9

School Date: Winter, Term 10, Week 5

It has officially been over a year since I started this shit. The past month has been productive in a lot of ways (see reddit post history).

Filming & Recording

I got the intro/interum/outro filmed. My school has a courtroom for the criminal justice students, so I was originally going to film these parts there. But when me and Chris went there when we had the room booked, it was a ghost town and the door was locked when it wasn't supposed to be. So we decided to come back another day instead of dealing with the school's awful security, who only has an office on the main campus. I sat on it and decided to switch to the conference room on the main campus. It was the same sort of asthetic, just more corparate.

I'm still having issues finding someone for the tarot interview. So if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.

I also finaly filmed the main portion of the docu. I had to split the shoot into 2 parts and I also decided a lot of parts would be better as voiceovers. In total, I have 7-8 hours of footage and all of the footage and audio takes up 368GB.

I would like to give a massive shout-out to my classmates and coworkers, as well as my best friend, for helping with props and filming. I know it's cliché, but FOOL's MATE would not be of the quality that it is without them. Below is a full list of everyone who helped and what they did.

Promo

The Boston behind the scenes vlog was released as well as bloopers from that shoot.

I won't be publicly releasing the bloopers for the main portion for a bit because... I'M GOING TO BE DOING A PHYSICAL RELEASE! It will be limited and made to order. I'll have more details when I have them. But currently, some things I'm thinking of including with it are:

A DVD with bonus content like outtakes, cut content and more

A production handbook with all sorts of BTS content

Some small goods like button badges, stickers and/or acrylic charms

I've also thought of releasing the soundtrack physically as well in the same way, at the same time. I'm also planning on doing some bundles if I do this.

Filmed half of the main segment today. Went well. I am sore now. There's a lot of bits that I decided to skip because they'd be better as VOs.

I tried to brute force the capitals through a bunch of cyphers and decryptors and got nothing. There would be no way to decrypt it without a key and there's no way to know what the correct order of the letters is.

I honestly just think that it's a stylistic thing :/

School Date: Winter, Term 10, Week 2

A lot has happened in the past 2 weeks. FOOL's MATE has officially entered production, I finished my research and we are on the cusp of T3.

Research

I am finally done with my research. If anything else comes out this month, I'll add it though. That's essentially what already happened. I finished the day before Your Curtain Call came out. So then I had to add things from that.

I've also gone through and corrected any type of issue. Another thing I've done is make backups of my sources to have proof that all of my sources exist. Some of my sources have already been removed from whatever platform they were on. So there's nothing I can do about those.

Filming & Recording

I recently was reminded that my cousin was a criminal justice major, so I thought about interviewing her. So I did that as well as recording a voiceover for the beginning of that part.

This next week, I'm hoping to film the intro and outro as well as release the behind the scenes vlog from when we were filming in Boston last month. My set filming date for the main portion is on the 1st.

I'm STILL having issues finding someone to interview about the tarot spreads. I have emailed around 50 people and haven't gotten a single response. If you know any mediums or psychics in the Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts area that you know would say yes, please give me their contact info.

Props & Set

I'm finally done gathering all of the props and have started to put together the images for the corkboard. I basically have all of the images printed out. Then I'm glueing them to some thicker paper. So far, I've gone through 3 glue sticks and am about halfway done. I technically stayed at work late today to get a lot done because I don't wanna bring everything back to my dorm. I've also started to move all of my props to work so it'll be easier to set up the set later.

Poster

I finally finished the sketch for the poster. There might be a few small changes here and there, but this is pretty much how it will look. The colors are just place holders though. I might inch Mikoto's left shoulder closer to him. Feel free to critique it.

Also I'm starting to think of a tagline to put on the poster. So if you have any idea, share away!

Costume

I decided to just go with an "Es" costume. It's not exactly Es, but it does look like their uniform. Here's a WIP picture. I have all of the parts. I just need to make some modifications.

Kototo’s verdict would have been able to change some things, but I have a feeling that Yamanaka knew that she was going to be guilty. Kotoko was presented in an extremely poor light in T2 after all. Mahiru, maybe. Her health did not improve in T2 and it could have worsened during the intermission. If that did happen and she actually is dead, then that could have had a major negative impact on Shidou as it could have reminded him of what happened with his wife and/or kids.
