🌸 G R O W T H 🌺 @that_slug_life has been through some hair journeys. When I first started doing her hair she had removed dreads that she had for years to start a curl journey. Now we are growing out years of red dye, and what a time we are having! In this photo we did a smooth blow out but she actually has very curly hair, and we want to maintain the integrity of the curls. Ive learned her previously colored hair cannot handle lightener or color remover without impacting her curls, so what do we do? Let those grow out, safely bleach her regrowth, and dye it all neon pink! I am OBSESSED with the outcome! What’s the difference between a camera and your phone? I suck at editing photos. The only things I ever really do are crop, add a vignette, and sometimes change the background if Im feeling wild. (And honestly Ill text @row_house_hair and ask her nicely to help me 🤣🤣🤣) I have to rely on taking nice photos and hoping they work for instagram. My iPhone is convenient. I always have it and it takes really great photos and videos. I do struggle sometimes with capturing movement and detail, and on days when my lighting is not ideal I really struggle with taking photos. That’s where my camera comes in (on days I actually remember it!) Cameras have a higher amount of pixels so it will show color and detail much better than a phone will. It also has an incredible amount of settings to play with. I learned from @_photo_tino to play with lighting and aperture to best capture movement, and that’s been really fun to do! My downside is sometimes my photos come out super fuzzy or blown out because I didn’t have the right settings. Do these photos look wildly different? Raise your hand if you love peacock colors 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🦚🦚🦚 One of my favorite spots in Austin is @mayfieldpark where there are dozens of peacocks wandering around. When you roll Lisa Frank, you get all the neon magic 🌈✨ Okay funny thing: @austinpetpunk had to re-roll multiple times because she kept landing on a option she already had! Did you even do a rose gold balayage if you didn’t say “rose all day” at least 10 times during the service?!? I looooove rose golds on brunettes. Its the warmth we love to embrace and the hue of our rosy dreams! After her foil service, I toned her with a mix of @pulpriothair rose gold, violet, and 12-5 with 6 vol for her toner. After that fully processed, I went over it with @megix10 Pure Shades in Rose Quartz, Sugalite, and a little Amethyst mixed with the Deep hydrating Mousse (we love to treat and condition while we color!) My client just had her first baby! And oh my godddd is he a cutie! I was so excited for her balayage appointment, not just to give her hot mom hair, but to get to meet the baby and hear how everything had been going.
