Carlton Cinema has a rich heritage and is often referred to as “The Carlton”. The cinema is the 3rd incarnation of the original single-screen Carlton which first opened in 1948. Carlton Cinema is a 9-screen complex and a favourite movie destination of Toronto cinephiles who enjoy movies ranging from first-run Hollywood, Canadian, international and film festivals. Horror Nights, and lots of Geeky Films from around the world and through out time.

The Royal Cinema - Toronto

Peepshow T.O.
PeepshowTO is an ongoing series of burlesque shows produced in Toronto, by a dedicated crew with a passion for creating their own unique brand of geek themed burlesque. Every signature show is completely customized to a specific theme and packed with never-before-seen acts. No matter the theme you can always expect to see a good mix of both sultry and comedic performance, all packed into an indulgent evening that is sure to satisfy the geeky appetite. Past shows include Hanna Barbera, Marvel vs DC, The Simpsons etc.
Rock, Paper, Cynic
Here’s the rundown: Rock, Paper, Cynic (http://www.rockpapercynic.com/) is a geek culture webcomic for people who think the world can do better than it’s currently doing. Sometimes the comics are thinky, but other times they’re just about awesome things like turtles, Mario Kart, or metaphysics.
The Sidekick
The Sidekick is a comic book cafe in Toronto’s East end, delivering high quality coffee, comics, and collectibles to the public every day! They also host events throughout the year for such groups as the Toronto Comics Anthology, or Comic Book Ladies night.
Silver Snail Comics
The most famous comic book store in Toronto. It is a landmark in geek culture in the city. They carry Comics, Toys, apparel, and even have a coffee shop. Also known for the annual infamous Silver Snail “Snailoween” Halloween party.
TCAF - The Toronto Comic Arts Festival
The Toronto Comic Arts Festival exists to promote the breadth and diversity of comics, and what is considered comics, as legitimate medium of literary and artistic worth. They seek to promote the creators of these works in their broad and diverse voices, for the betterment of the medium of comics and to reach as wide an audience as possible for them. This is an Annual independent comic event that takes place at the Metro Toronto Reference library one weekend a year.
Toons On Tap
Toons On Tap is an open, costumed life drawing event created with the animator in mind. Be amongst other artists, and draw from professional models best described as living cartoon characters. Bring your sketchbook to an upcoming session, and remind yourself why you love to draw. Past models have dressed as, Popeye, Captain Jack Sparrow, Harley Quinn Cat-woman.
The Toronto Comic Book Show
The Toronto Comic Book Show is Toronto based Comic Book Trade Show featuring the very best in Modern, Silver Age, and Golden Age Comics as well as related Toys and Movie Memorabilia. TCBS happens regularly in Toronto, at the Toronto Plaza Hotel. The Toronto Plaza Hotel.
Toronto Comics Anthology
The Toronto Comics Anthology is an annual showcase for the next generation of comic creators. Stay tuned for Volume 3 coming in May! All local artists and writers take part in the Anthology, and they also host many public events so you can actually meet the creators.

Who we are & what we do!
Geektropolis.ca was launched in July 2014.
For 3 years now, it has been the platform that keeps Toronto’s geeks in the loop about the events, people and places that they are passionate about, through social media and video.
Why did we do this?
There was no one place for Toronto geeks to congregate and find out about all the events related to the subjects that they love. Since July 2014, it has been validated that over 85% of our user base have this need. The 153% month-over-month social media growth indicates the same.
What is Geektropolis?
Geektropolis is Toronto’s Geek Culture Community, sharing and supporting geek happenings!
Vision:
Geektropolis is the guide to the crazy riotous variety of geek realms in Toronto. Ultimately, the Geektropolis project will bring together the Geeks of Toronto into an engaged community, where they can learn and play amongst people who are just like them.
Mission:
Geektropolis, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Geeks of the Greater Toronto Area. Our continuing mission: to explore strange new geekdoms, to seek out new geeks and new civilizations. To boldly chronicle where many geeks have gone before and to help other geeks get there too.
