ok folks final page count is 86 and we're about 60% done. and I am jumping off walls with what I'm cooking

so far at about 34 pages on the carmilla comic done. out of what I'm starting to think are going to be around 80. smiles and does a peace sign

oh yeah and I forgot to mention I've been watching a silent hill 2 remake playthrough as I work as well which i think has influenced a small part of the visuals

Aside from the obvious (the og book) do you use any music or other media for inspo while panelling it all?

yes!! Laura is inspired by the og Carmilla but other media that have had its influence on it are "We have always lived in the castle" by Shirley Jackson, the short horror story "The yellow wallpaper", A few of EM Carrol's comics especially "A guest in the house", and believe it or not Twilight new moon. you'll see what I mean.

Other than that I have a personally curated playlist I might post once the comic is out in October. And I've been listening to a LOT of Ethel Cain while thumbnailing/inking.

You talking abt your Laura comic pushed me to buy and read In A Glass Darkly (including Carmilla) for the first time! I’m so excited for your comic!! Do you have thoughts on the other short stories in the book? I liked how concise Carmilla was, but the slow feed of info in the others, like The Room in Le Dragon Volant, was suspenseful for sure

I've been obsessed with Carmilla for years but I have to confess I haven't checked out the rest of Le Fanu's work yet though I do plan to do it sometime soon

thank you to every single commissioner for their patience this round btw - I'm tackling this batch a bit slower than I'm used to cause I'm also working on a pretty sizable comic but I promise every single comm will be done by the end of august deadline 🙏
