I’m honestly flattered by the attention my posts got. I didn’t have tumblr but searching Dakota’s cannon age (which I later calculated in a post) I ended up seeing fanart here, and when a wave of inspiration and things to say rampaged my mind I thought it was a good place to pour it all. I genuinely thought no one was going to ever find it, even if it’s not much, and I’m glad to realise it has a solid comunity that could help to make a new season or at least some kind of follow-up. I still have no idea of how things are around here though, so a little help would be much appreciated xD

I had this in mind for a while so I finally decided to put it together! By the way, *WARNING* season two spoilers in this video! Also, this was made for fun, I don’t own the song or the footage used in this video. The song is It’s a Hard-Knock Life from Annie and the footage is from Milo Murphy’s Law.

I just realized that I made a good bunch of mistakes there. It was 6:00am and hadn’t slept thinking about all this, excuse me.
And I refuse to edit it basically cs I’m lazy
Maybe some other day
A Story of Dakota and Cavendish and the adulthood on Milo’s S2
They are the best part of the show and I have to admit, since I met them, Milo’s main adventures stepped aside in my brain.
So I watched Milo Murphy’s Law first episodes on Disney XD, and fell in love. The weirdness, the creativity, the unexpected, how things could always and would always get crazier, just like P&F but in it’s own, wholesome, chaotic way.
Then I recall meeting the best anacronical dynamic duo, and fell in love a little more.
But then… I saw the Dakota Island. And shit got serious.
I mean, I would have NEVER expected this kIDs sHoW to show (redundance) real, explicit deaths, no falling into the mist and assuming their demise but ACTUAL EXPLICITLY MENTIONED DEATHS
DUDE WHAT
Even if it was for laughs, they were there, and Dakota would hurt every time it happened. And they showed it to me, a show that untill then had been mumbling about random super charismatic craziness and some time travel here and there. It’s as if in Phineas and Ferb Buford’s family had economical problems and Balgeet used his genious to work extremely hard and send anonymous donations every time they were too desperate to not accept them.
AND GRIEVE. They showed me Dak’s pain, as much as he was used to it. He would be sad, he would go back in time, he would spend the rest of his life imprisoned in an island the next time Cav died, rather than trying to move on with a normal life after his death. Even if it’s played for laughs some times, shit were serious.
They became what my main motivation to keep watching the series, although Milo’s adventures would always charm me in the way.
Actually, it was Dakota plus time travel
I’ve got to say that most of the time I felt like Cavendish didn’t deserve him. I mean, he seemed to look down on him all the time, pretending to teach him lessons about the right way of doing things and calling him selfish, while Dak acted clearly much more maturely in critical situations and had more common sense, as seen with the Counter-Agent Milo situation and the first time Milo went missing.
But here’s the thing: it is more recyprocal than it seemed.
I realized it in S2. Which is surprising because it was especially during that season that Cav became obsessed with saving the world and Dak was at his peak of maturity and down-to-earthness (the I could fix things but not anymore conversation was so strong). Then Cav left, and we see a very depressed Dak who is restlessly trying to find Cavendish, hurt because of the abandonment but missing him so much.
There he explains why Cav is so precious to him: he is the one that takes him through “less self-destructive” ways, helps him take care of himself. Cav fixes his messes and has a lot of patience with him (dear vinni is not the easiest person to have around either) (the toddler incident for example). Cav is, above all, kind and considerate, being the well-being of others his top priority when the situation demands it (though less assertively than Dakota) and valuing and respecting those who do the same (which was actually why their friendship was born). In this line, he really respects Dakota.
All of this without mentioning the 7 years that they have been together (since when Milo and Melissa were 6 to the present, though I think it would depend on.. more things). They are so used to have each other around, and it works.
I just finished watching the second season. The show grew, grew a lot, maybe too much for it’s audience. The Doof’s situation, Dak&Cav’s friendship, men having men problems (as you could call them in that universe). And I have to say, despite the fact that Doof’s episodes could get a little boring or even annoying, I loved that. But this post is about the anachronical duo, Doof can come later.
*Just to clarify: by men I mean adults who all happen to be men.
Men having men problems:
Dak & Cav losing their job, starting to work on something that wouldn’t allow them to something that they were so used to already: the possibility of going back and fixing things. If one of them died or messed up, there was no going back.
Cavendish having a crisis, feeling he is not doing what he is capable to achieve, frustrated by the intranscendence of his current doings. Dakota seeing him like that, worried about risking their stability, since it was him the one that the lack of time travelling had hit the hardest (because of the island situation, and probably most of his recklessness when breaking regulations came from knowing that he or Cav could go back and fix things if he messed up too hard).
Cavendish frustration before possibility of a more transcendental path, the unsuccesful result of doing it by a safe way (through his boss, which would have guaranteed stability), his consequential and vehement desire for doing things outside the rules just like his partner used to enjoy, the renewed frustration before the reluctance of that very same partner to take the risk, and his putting Dakota’s safety and stability above all by not letting him know where he was going so Dak wouldn’t follow him and risk losing his job.
Dakota’s feeling of abandonment and lonliness
It was beautiful
I loved all of that, and as I said in another post, it saddened me that they didn’t try that kind of development with the 13yo. That is such a complicated age, growth guaranteed for everyone. I’m not asking for the series to become a teen drama, nor I’m asking anything at all. I would just have enjoyed a little more if the teens had had experiences like those, since we were doing it with the adults already. Maybe they wanted to keep it light for kids and heavy for grown-ups? I don’t know.
Let’s just pray and scream for a new season, and a new chance to see those teens grow (or not, no problem) and, of course, new crazy adventures of Milo and his people.

Sometimes I think about how desensitized Dakota must be to death just because of the sheer number of times he's had to send himself back to save Cavendish. This man has seen his partner die a couple hundred times, that can't be good on the mind.
And sometimes I think about how anxious he must have been throughout season two since they were no longer allowed to time travel. If Cavendish dies, that's it.
(Of course if that were the case, he probably just would've stolen Brick and Savanna's limo)

Vinnie Dakota is in his 20s and here’s why
Maybe everyone know about this but I’m saying it cus I can. Also I don’t know his real age I searched and didn’t find anything so thank me for the public service people. If anyone know his real age and could tell me and I would be really grateful but for the time being allow yourselves to be amused and informed by my analysis.
--
So as promised in a post published minutes ago that no one has read, here’s the explanation:
In the episode where Dakota and Milo’s, Melissa’s and Zack’s parents are turned into toddlers, Cavendish explicitly says that the machine removes 90% of your age and the trio says that their parents are 3 years old.
Considering their parents as 3yos can walk and talk perfectly, unlike Dakota, you could conclude that he is clearly younger and that he is 2, since if he was 1 year old he would look much more like a baby and if he was 1 then it would have meant that he is in his teens during the show which.. well which he’s not.... i think
So, math. if 2 is 10%, the 100% is 20. He could have been 2 and several months so he could be from 20 to 29.
Also the trio’s parents are in their 30 using the same logic
Cavendish is over 50 people hence that ship does not work for me, for more than this reason alone
But that shall come later

Aladis is my o p i n i o n (Milo Murfi)
alright I just finished Milo Murphy’s Law and have too mucho to say
I love what they did with Dr. Doof. They can’t create a crazy hyper-creative murphy’s law adventure fore 18 episodes (2 for the finale) without it getting monotonous. Or maybe they can (Phineas and Ferb), but it would have been the same (as Phineas and Ferb). Of course they wanted to do something new.
Of course writing about a divorced man who feels like a constant failure despite him knowing for a fact that he will create some day something that will completely change the course of humanity, who also lost almost everything he had including his best friend, is much more interesting than writing the typical Milo’s adventure. Yes, I would have wanted it to tangle with the typical Milo’s adventure, since I LOVE those and are half the reason why I fell in love with the show, because of the creativity and the cleverness, but I’m ok with how they did things.
Cavendish and Dakota. Yeah I love them and Dakota is basically the other half of why I fell in love with the show. When the lost dakotas happened shit got serious. I LOVE them (him) but that would take too many paragraphs to express. It was beautiful seing Dakota save Cavendish’s life in the first episodes way before the island.  There are many more foreshadowing things that I can’t remember right now but they were there. This show has a beautiful way of tying things up.
Loved Zack and Melissa, could feel the chemistry growing, and could feel Milo’s crush on Amanda from the very first day so people I’m sorry but that Milissa cave (Melilo? Milossa? wingardium¿) was never to be explored.
I am kinda sad that there were great opportunities to bring a little more imoutional complecsity to some situations, like how much Melissa and Zack sacrifice being Milo’s friend; how the Murphy men are rejected and being considered accounted for things that are not their fault (I wrote about this earlier today); how Elliot started considering Milo less of a threat and more of a trustable, kind human, maybe even a friend; Dakota is perfect but sometimes I feel Cavendish doesn’t deserve him they were developed just fine though; Milo’s and Amanda’s dynamic and relationship (I really hope they do this in the next season if there ever is let’s pray); I MEAN THE MURFIS LA IS SOME SERIUS SHIT IT AFFECTS THE WHOLE FAMILY AND EVERYONE NEAR THEM IN EXTREME WAYS HOW IS THAT NEVER TALKED ABOUT
Annnother thing that saddens me is that I could kinda feel the burnout in the last few episodes of season 2. Many 4th wall breaks, all of wich I loved, but made me sad. Can you love something that makes you sad? Have I said that right before MML I watched Steven Universe Future yet? Yeah there’s that
Maby I will talk about more specific things in the future, like how I calculated Dakota’s age despite Google’s reluctance to tell me and how him and Cavendish are, in my opinion, ultimately unshippable (dakota’s in his 20s)
Or maybe I can post this and make another post to talk about that right away
Who knows

why is this man so perfect
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today is the 15-year anniversary of the premier of Avatar the Last Airbender. It won't be the anniversary of the first episode I ever saw until tomorrow though.
I saw the second episode the 2nd day that it aired, and after that, I never missed the air date of a single episode. Not even when I was in the hospital and had to watch The Beach on my room TV and listen through the clunky bed speaker.
Have any of you guys been watching it from the beginning?
Anyway, thanks for 15 years, Fire Lord of My Heart. 🔥

The Murphy’s Curse
Has anyone thought how Milo and his father must feel guilty all the time, like a burden for their family and everyone surrounding them, causing constant fear, pain, death risk and expenses to all of them? Saying “I’m sorry” every time something happens even though everyone knows it’s not their fault. How people reject them, try to stay away from them. How Milo has the only two people that would dare to be near him often as friends.
-I don’t consider this a spoiler but just in case- Milo’s cheery attitud has never let show any sadness, but in season 2 episode 13 there are these two trucks carrying circus elephants that crush in the middle of the street, and as always someone says “what are the odds?” Then the police officer says “Yes, what are the odds? I smell a Murphy”. Then he turns around, exclaimed the name and there’s Milo’s father, reading newspaper. He runs away crying and saying “I just wanted a latte”
It actually hurt me. He just wanted to do something trivial, yet “he” caused all that damage. Murphy men (for some reason it doesn’t affect women) aren’t allowed to live a normal life just because they were born like that, and even though Milo seems to like it, it doesn’t avoid the discrimination and people blaming them directly for everything that happens and expecting them to fix it all since it was their fault, with very few people actually willing to help.
Baad idea watching Milo Murphy’s Law right after Steven Universe Future, people.
