Our experiences color everything. The events of the past can have a profound effect on how we see our lives now and what we choose to believe about our world. Our past experiences can also influence our emotional聽reactions聽and responses to present events. Each of us reacts to stimulus based on what we have learned in life. There is no right or wrong to it; it is simply the result of past experience. Later, when our strong feelings have passed, we may be surprised at our聽reactions. Yet when we face a similar situation, again our聽reactions聽may be the same. When we understand those experiences, we can come that much closer to understanding our聽reactions聽and consciously change them.
Between stimulus and聽reaction聽exists a fleeting moment of thought. Often, that thought is based on something that has happened to you in the past. When presented with a similar situation later on, your natural impulse is to unconsciously regard it in a similar light. For example, if you survived a traumatic automobile accident as a youngster, the first thing you might feel upon witnessing even a minor collision between vehicles may be intense panic. If you harbor unpleasant associations with death from a past experience, you may find yourself unable to think about death as a gentle release or the next step toward a new kind of existence. You can, however, minimize the intensity of your聽reactions聽by identifying the momentary thought that inspires your聽reaction. Then, next time, replace that thought with a more positive one.聽
Modifying your聽reaction聽by modifying your thoughts is difficult, but it can help you to see and experience formerly unpleasant situations in a whole new light. It allows you to stop reacting unconsciously. Learning the reason of your聽reactions聽may also help you put aside a negative聽reaction聽long enough to respond in more positive and empowered ways. Your聽reactions聽and responses then become about what's happening in the present moment rather than about the past. As time passes, your negative thoughts may lose strength, leaving only your positive thoughts to inform your healthy聽reactions.

I've never been so proud of my white hairs. It's a reminder that as we age we gain wisdom. And with wisdom comes our "wisdom whiskers." You can't gain wisdom through books alone - you gain it through experiences.
We start to see the world differently when we find our quiet space. My quiet space is nature. In the desert, in the forest, at the lake and on the beach.
My world has changed because I became uncomfortable, I experienced humility and learned to let go of things that didn't serve me mentally, physically and spiritually. I started to attract what does. With it comes new experiences and more learning. Life is about taking action, creating boundaries, while supporting others along the way.
Live life like its your last. Love you.

Our desires act as fuel, propelling us toward new horizons. Without something to strive for, we stagnate and become stuck in ruts of our own making because we are unsure of what to do next. Goals are the dreams that we are willing to work for. When we set goals, we take responsibility for our lives and choose to wholeheartedly devote ourselves to our aspirations. Even if we only take the smallest steps toward achieving our ambitions, it is vital that we actively pursue our goals rather than just daydreaming about them. Having goals makes us feel good because it adds a sense of purpose and direction to our lives.聽
When you endeavor to achieve clear and quantifiable goals, your choices and actions take on new significance. Consciously creating your goals can help ensure that the success you seek is attainable and serves you. Your plan must be conceivable, tangible, and measurable. If you cannot visualize your goal in great detail or believe that you can realize them, you may find it difficult to commit to your goals and take the necessary steps to achieve them. Make sure that your goals have the potential to be emotionally satisfying. You may even want to write them down. Putting your goals into words can keep your intention fresh in your mind and remind you of your purpose. As you make progress toward realizing your goals, give yourself a reward each time you take a step forward so that you have the incentive to keep going. If you find yourself stuck in a rut, examine ways in which you can revise your strategy so that your plan can work.聽聽
In creating goals, you create your future by outlining your destiny. When you choose your goals using your head and heart, you take the first step in manifesting what you want. You grant your own wishes every time you achieve another goal.
