Once the dead man is revived, we can ask him five questions, at which point he will die again, never to be re-revived.

Mushrooms are objectively the funniest thing on gods green earth like this one destroys your liver and kidneys and kills you this one makes a fine cooking oil this one introduces you to the machine elves this one grows in your shower and slowly destroys your lungs this one is delicious in a stir fry. For those not in the know, this is one of the Amanita mushrooms referred to as a Destroying Angel. Never, ever, ever, ever forage with an app. Especially for mushrooms.

I love that I share my house with one of the most efficient apex predators millions of years of evolution could produce. I love that two of nature’s most prolific machines met and were like “hmmm. We should lay around and do nothing together”. Now we’re both fat and happy and full of meat. The hedonism of it all

I feel like some people need to relearn Genre Expectations... "Man, this tragedy sucks!!! Why didn't they just do XYZ, then everything could have ended happily!!" well, then it wouldn't be a tragedy, would it. "Man, this lighthearted teen romcom is terrible, it's so sappy and unrealistic!!" Well, yeah. If it had been gritty and dark, it wouldn't have been a lighthearted romcom, would it. Is the writing actually bad or are you just trying to order a milkshake from a Home Depot

schrodinger's chekhov's gun. a detail in a story that looks like it should have some big payoff but it's too early to tell if that's relevant or if the author just has a passion for lovingly describing guns.

"College is a place of liberal indoctrination."
And what possible motive would liberals have to put their indoctrination behind one of the biggest paywalls to have ever existed?
College is often the first time that someone regularly interacts with a diverse crowd. College is often the first time that someone is encouraged to think for themselves instead of blindly trusting their parents.
They're not being indoctrinated to be liberal. They were previously indoctrinated to be conservative and are now being freed from that.

Libraries continue to be subject to hatred for simply existing in the community and for choosing to meet the needs of that whole community, rather than its loudest and angriest parts. Now, in addition to having to play the role of social support provider in an era where cities continue to cut back on such resources, libraries get to add “bomb threats” to the hazards of the job.
