Karin is a central pillar for Naruto and Sasukes relationship.

Sasuke is much happier with Karin. They are both orphans, both were under Orochimaru, and both developed powers to save one another. They first met in the Forest of Death during the Chuunin Exams, and the only time Sasuke smiled then was at Karin. If this were a shoujo manga, the title would be “The Moment Sasuke Fell in Love with Karin.”

Karin matches Sasuke’s energy because she doesn’t pretend to be someone else in front of him. She speaks frankly without considering his feelings. That’s the kind of woman someone like Sasuke truly values. He doesn’t need those “incel-type” girls who just echo everything he says. Karin is a strong, confident woman who stands on her own and is fully aware of her sexy appearance.

No matter what others say, Kishimoto-sensei likes SasuKarin — that’s why Gaiden exists, and that’s why Sarada exists. And to this day, Kishimoto has never drawn anything for SasuSaku.

Also, the title of Gaiden, “The Scarlet Spring,” might be pointing to Karin. Japan is known for cherry blossom spring — a direct reference to Sakura — yet he chose “scarlet,” a deep red, not typically associated with Japanese spring. Scarlet implies red, and the only character that represents red is Karin. Maybe it’s just a conspiracy theory, but we all know — Kishimoto loves to leave hidden hints.

Also, the fact that Karin is Sasuke’s wife is actually very important to the story. Karin is an Uzumaki — just like Naruto, the main character. When Sasuke found out she was an Uzumaki, he clearly reacted to that. A union between the Uchiha and the Senju (through the Uzumaki) would finally bring peace to the longstanding conflict between their clans.

It’s a marriage built on love, but also one with deep political significance. And their children would undoubtedly be the strongest — basically Hagoromo 2.0. Totally overpowered.

That’s why it makes the most sense for Sasuke to end up with Karin. Through her, Sasuke and Naruto’s bond becomes more than symbolic — it becomes a true family bond. Karin is the one who connects them as family.
