Shopping with a Screen Shot
There are two kinds of girls in this world; one that likes to shop in the physical store and the one that likes online shopping. I am one to be guilty of being an online shopper. To make my online shopping experience a little easier, I use an app called LiketoKnow.it. Thus far, this app is my holy grail and I plan to stay fully committed to it but to assure my thoughts on this app, I decided to test out another clothing app called The Hunt. Here are my thoughts about both platforms.
The Hunt - The new app I used
Price: Free
Compatible with: Android and iPhone
What is it?: The Hunt is a community that tracks down the items you covet. Snap a picture of what you're looking for and get personalized shopping suggestions.
Content: Fashion
Evaluation: Although The Hunt seems like a useful app, it consumes a lot of time asking and searching for the clothes you like. Step one of The Hunt is finding any piece of clothing you like and taking a screen shot of it. Once you have your screen shot, you post that picture of your clothing item on The Hunt's app and write a short caption asking anyone has seen this particular clothing in the store or if they know which brand it is. Seems to me that if nobody has seen this piece of clothing, that you would be out of luck. The Hunt appears to be helpful but a quick as I would like.
LiketoKnow.it
Price: Free
Compatible with: Android and iPhone
What is it?: It’s a service that allows you to shop products you see in your Instagram feed
Content: Fashion
Evaluation: Liketoknow.it, is my go to app and will be for a while. This app is very simple to use and does not consume a lot of your time. The first step is to find a LiketoKnow.it influencer you want to follow or just use the #liketkit on Instagram. Once you have found clothes/house decoration or makeup you like, all you have to do is take a screen shot of it and it will open in your LiketoKnow.it app. Once you see the screen shot appear on your app, each item will have a description of where the item is sold and for how much. If by any chance the store is sold out of that particular item, sometimes the influencer will link a similar product.
Overall, I will still be using LiketoKnow.it instead of The Hunt. As soon as I see something I like, I take a screen shot and order it right then and there. I am not a fan of the whole you have to wait for people to respond to your post on The Hunt.
