Rita clenched her fists tightly. Why was he apologizing to her? She didn’t remember anything he did that would call for an apology… Sure, he was a pervert every so often, but she was used to that by now. In fact, she expected so much she would worry if he didn’t say something here or there. 

She hung her head, trying to figure out what he meant but even with her vasts amounts of knowledge she couldn’t come to any conclusions.

"Why……?" she asked slowly, relaxing her hands at her sides. "Why are you telling me this…?"

She had never known how much Alexei had did for him. With a sigh, she stood up and approached him. "I can teach you the basics of cleaning it, although I guess it would be better for me to do it myself. I'm sure soon enough that's something you'd be able to do on your own though."

Tapping her chin softly, she sighed. "I'm going to need you to let me see it. I can't do much if I don't know what I'm working with. Then we can determine what maintenance needs to be done." 

She wasn't going to say it out loud, but deep down, she felt a bit scared. She had never had to take care of a blastia that kept someone alive before. She looked away. "I'm... glad you asked for my help..."

"You wouldn’t know just by looking at him, but he really knew his way around Blastia. I never found anyone else who could make heads nor tails of it…" Not that he ever tried very hard, having done his best to keep his heart a secret.

Raven stayed standing by Rita, casting his gaze around the room and hoping that Rita of all people would be able to figure it out. Nothing ever seems beyond her when it came to things involving Blastia.

"Well, there’s not much maintenance I do myself. I always needed Alexei ta clean it and update the formula. I just monitor it, and I know how ta adjust the heart rate if it goes off but that’s about it." It’s a little embarrassing about how little he knew about something that’s been an integral part of him for ten years.

"It’s been runnin’ fine since Tarquaron, but I’d just feel better lettin’ an expert double-check it, ya know?"

"Hey, Rita." There's really no point in beating around the bush, so he grins, bending down to level with the mage and brushing his lips past hers. He then proceeds to back away given that he knows what's gonna come next. "See you later." And he runs.

She was shocked to say the least. Covering her mouth, she had no time even think of casting anything as he ran. “Why would he-? I’ll end him.”

Rita took a seat where she had been sitting before, flipping the page of the closest book. "Doing as well as ever. Lots of late nights just doing research. The same as usual." She looked up as he kept speaking, her eyes growing a bit more wide.

"Don't you have someo-" She stopped mid-sentence, understanding his situation. "I see. Alexei was the one who took care of it, didn't he?" She leaned back, deep in thought. "I.... I can do it for you..." she responded after a few moments of silence. 

"But you need to tell me everything about how you've been taking care of it on your own. You know, just cleaning, general maintenance and whatnot. I figure Alexei did any major repairs but if I understand how you take care of it, I can fix anything you're doing wrong. This way, we can prevent anything that could be caused by mistreatment." Looking back towards him, she stifled a yawn. 

It took a little while before the door opened and Raven was greeted with a familiar face he hasn’t seen in what felt like a very long time. Rita looked well, if sleepy and he didn’t doubt that she likely got little sleep in light of recent events.

"You’re doin’ well," Raven commented as he followed her inside, careful not to knock over any of the piles of books and documents that seemed to be spread out in a haphazard manner. How she could keep anything organized like this was beyond him.

"I’m here ta ask for a favor. See, I need someone ta take a look at my Blastia every once in a while and keep it goin’." With Alexei gone there was only one other person he could trust with such a task. "Do ya think ya might be able ta help?"
