A romantic gesture! …or so i think?

tw/cw: max being partly ooc (idc.), gn!reader, uhhhh idk. nobody dies in NPMD, human!max

a/n: this lowkey kinda reminds me of the window scene from scream… pls tell me you see my vision

a/n: kay so this is now based off of the window scene in scream and i will not be taking questions at this moment, please and thank you

[reader] laid within their bed, listening to their blaring music within their headphones. it was a quiet night, just a night alone with [readers] thoughts and emotions.

a quiet thud came from across the room, just loud enough to be heard from beyond [readers] headphones but quiet enough to not disturb anyone within the household.

[reader] perks up, glancing towards the window where the thud came from, pulling off their headphones while stopping their music. they hesitantly got off their bed, creeping towards the window with caution and stood just by it for a moment.

as they waited for another sound, the room silent with tension as another loud THUD was heard against the glass. [reader] quickly opened it, peeking out just a bit to be met with the face of their boyfriend.

“goddamn it max, you scared the shit out of me!” [reader] groaned, rolling their eyes as they gently smacked their hand against the boys chest.

they sighed, leaning against the sill of the now opened window for a moment as they spoke, “why are you creeping outside my bedroom window anyways?!”

“i thought it would be romantic if i climbed up here.” max shrugged, smiling smugly as he raised his eyebrows towards his partner and mocked their position against the window sill.

“you gave me a heart attack.” [reader] stated, rolling their eyes once more as they leaned out of the way, allowing the boy into their room.

max just laughed, climbing into his partners room with a drawn out whistle, “wow… this is where you live huh? thought it’d be more… dunno. bland.”

his tone was obviously filled with sarcasm, judging by his toothful grin and glint in his eyes as he flopped back against the cushioned bed with a quiet thump.

he was wearing the letterman jacket he wore almost everyday, a blank tee beneath that was slightly peeking out, and some random blue jeans. nothing out of the ordinary for him.

[reader] was of course in their pajamas, *insert your chosen pajamas here!*, nothing max hadn’t seen before but he always seemed like it was a new sight.

“babe, do i ever tell you how sexy you look in your pajamas? ‘cause you do…” max stated, smiling smugly towards his partner as i leaned on his side against their bed.

[reader] sighed, failing to hide their smile as they strutted over towards their bed and crawled in beside him, “you do every-time you see me, idiot…”

max turned to face them, humming quietly as he bit the inside of his cheek and moved over to slightly hover above [reader]. he kept his arrogant smile against his lips, leaning down to slightly pepper a kiss against their face.

between each kiss, he mumbled under his breath as he rested his elbows just next to [readers] head, “good, cause you are…”

after a moment, he fully connected their lips. one of his arms still holding him up, thank god for football, and the other moving into [readers] hair with a gentle grip.

max eventually trailed his lips away, moving from [readers] own lips and down towards their cheek and then to their jaw. as he left a trail of kisses, he moved down to their neck and slowly traveled down onto their chest.

every so often he would glance up through his eyelashes at his partner, silently enjoying the view before continuing down their body in a slow manner. his hands had traveled along with him, stopping at [readers] thighs and then trailing back up to the waist band of their pants.

[reader] felt his hands, bringing their own to push them away from their waistband with a quiet hum as max continued kissing down their shirt.

he stopped just before the waist of their pants once more, resting his chin there as he playfully pouted, “oh… cmon, we never get to do anything like this… just this once?”

[reader] sighed, shaking their head as they sat up from their spot on their bed and spoke, “nope, time to go stud bucket…”

max just sighed with annoyance, getting up from the bed as he began to walk towards the window he once entered through, “you see what you do to me? torture porn i say.”

[reader] smiles, watching as he climbed out the window and sat there for a moment as he leaned against the sill just like before, “i appreciate the romantic gesture.”

max tilts his head, smiling with that stupid smug smile once more as he chuckled lightly, and replied with a wink, “anytime babe, just call me if you wanna do this again.”

[reader] scoffed lightly, no real stab behind it as they mimicked his pose against the window sill, “of course.”

max kissed them once more, savoring it for a moment before pulling back with almost hesitation, “you know all that stuff about sex and shit? i’m not trying to rush you… i was only half serious.”

[reader] laughed, kissing him once more as he eases out the window. they replied softly, leaning against the sill in return, “i know, maybe one day.”

max just nods, giving them once more glance and smile before climbing down off their roof and heading home.

[reader] just watched for a moment, staring lovingly at the boy before leaning back into their room and shutting their window to head off to bed.
