genuine question — how is donating money going to help Palestinians if no food is going in? What is the money for?

Medicine, water, supplies, food, fuel (much of it black market being upsold at egregious prices) — these all cost money and pretty much all Palestinians in Gaza have no source of income now. It’s drops in the bucket compared to ending the siege and occupation but it’s one way to do at least something small to help. Others are in need of money to evacuate when the border opens again (which hopefully is asap…), tuition and supplies for school to continue studies despite it all. Another fund is focused on trying to rebuild farmlands in Gaza to get food again that way.

I can’t tell anyone what to do with their money but I don’t think this mindset of “well nothings going in so we can’t help” is helpful for people on the ground who are the ones saying that donations can and do help them survive.

Hey also we should care very much about what's happening with Lil Nas X btw. According to LA law, what he did (takin a walk in undies and cowboy boots) does not meet the requirements for indecent exposure and therefore does not warrant arrest. The claims that he charged officers were made without proper evidence such as body cam footage. If there is evidence, it has not been released to the public. Either way, his actions do not warrant four fuckin felonies including three counts of battery on an officer and one count of resisting an executive officer, especially considering that he was clearly having a mental episode (a fact which is also supported by his dad). Benefit of the doubt to the charges, an unarmed man is being wrongfully charged more than he should for alleged crimes committed in response to a non-crime. Realistically, he is facing these charges because he is a black queer man experiencing a crisis.

im really scared when i think about the long term consequences of the current famine in gaza. children are not eating enough. they cannot afford to eat enough. it's terrible how there's food rotting on the other side of the border in aid trucks while children are dying of malnutrition.

im especially scared about the infants and the disabled. children born in this genocide only know the constant sound of bombing. it's very terrible.

does anyone else think i saw the tv glow lowkey wanted radio silence's nachos.... character who is AFAB and character who is AMAB slowly come out of their shells once meeting each other, finding comfort in each other's queerness and the way they are both designated as "queer" by society...... unified by their love for and devotion to a fictional world with abstract and paranormal elements, which also serves as a metaphor for the trapping reality they are both trying to escape (a metaphor easily applicable to both the transgender and neurodivergent experience)..... throughout the story that fictional world is warped and changed until it is unrecognisable and no longer provides the comfort it used to......... the characters separate in a sudden and hurtful way but then one character goes out of their way to attempt to save the other from the trappings of their reality (the metaphor of the fictional world being something they now fully understand)...... like how did alice oseman make the prototype for the best film on the transgender experience in recent years without actually exploring transness explicitly😭
