being depressed for a long time is wild because like years ago an episode would have brought me down so hard and I wouldn’t have been able to function for a few days but now I just like, throw myself into a physical task like cleaning until I pass out from exhaustion then I wake up the next day and feel fine and honestly??? that’s growth.

there are moments that I wish I could replay forever, moments that I want to capture in a roll of film and like a beloved VCR with home videos rewind and absorb all the wonder I felt when they occurred

one of these moments happened just now, at the end of this day, when I scored perfectly on my anxiety-inducing driving test

after a party full of friends who love me and who I love back, after poorly playing Mario Kart and equally poorly playing poker amongst my chosen family

a cool Texas autumn night driving down the road, windows down, good music playing

at the intersection where we must part, he signed I love you and my windblown hair and fell into my face as I signed it back

in the distance lightning struck but it couldn’t harm us, we were untouchable

it was the most perfect moment I’ve ever had and I never want to forget it

It has been almost half a year since I wrote this. You can't imagine what good things are coming. Kiddo, you make it. You're ending this school year strong. It's rough and there's a lot of hurt, but trust me, there's better things in store. I want to tell you that it's alright, and that you don't even know how good it gets. I'm happy right now, you will be soon. It doesn't last like that forever.
