      He glanced down at his tea, then back up at the man. “I do hope you’re not suggesting I LEAVE this...?” Then he glanced at the dogs, who had not destroyed one another so much as all of the chairs and dishes around the tables they’d been tied to, and he sipped his tea quietly. “Besides, don’t you want to watch it all UNRAVEL?”

DELIRIUM.

     “My BIg brOTHER went to the bAD PLace once. He outsmARTed a deMON.” She remembered the fear of him being stuck there, especially after the seventy years he’d been trapped. Humans not dreaming sent everything into disarray on the earth for a lot of them. Some of them had ended up visiting her realm. She still remembered the ones that demons had influenced coming to her, asking for help, but she couldn’t manage it. Her voice turned an angry, bruised purple as she pointed at him. “…you’re onE OF The ONes that pushes PEoPle in bAd DIREctionS, aren’t you?”

      He frowned a little, almost OFFENDED at her accusatory demeanor. “Well, YES,” he began slowly, suddenly a bit more AWARE of how far south things could turn. “That is a PRIMARY part of the job description. As a DEMON and all...” Clearly she---whoever SHE was---had a problem with that, though. “I do occasionally push them in the GOOD directions, too, and an argument COULD be made that the humans would go in that direction ANYWAY. I simply help them along...?”
