Pairing: Tech x F!Reader

Prompt: Mostly fluff, a teensy sprinkle of angst. No use of Y/n

Warnings: typical canon violence, smooching, slightly awkward situation

a/n: i just started the bad batch a few weeks ago and while i haven't finished season 3 yet, i have unfortunately recently became a victim to plan 99. needless to say, i took that personally, considering i haven't written something in years. tech took a minute to grow on me, but when i fell for him i fell harder than he did (i'm so sorry i'm trying to cope ok i'm still recovering) - i'll stop rambling now, but basically this probably sucks as i'm super rusty so i do apologize! look at this as a way of me getting back on my feet and potentially dipping my toes into writing more wooo! (btw this fic was supposed to be a flashback in a different fic i was writing. i ended up liking this as a standalone and trashing the other one) *not proof read!*

"I've always wanted to visit Alderaan. I would've preferred to see it with its endless blue sky and warm sun, though, not during the rainiest time of the year." You frowned a little, stepping out of the Maurauder with Omega, Tech, and Echo while Hunter & Wrecker stayed on the ship.

"Y'know, as much as it rained on Kamino, I still love it!" Omega chirped, smiling up at the sky and allowing the water to fall onto her face.

That was enough to make you smile. You made your way over to her and pulled up the hood of her cloak so far up that it covered her face. "Hey!" She griped, reaching up to move the hood to rest atop her head. You smirked, a small chuckle passing your lips as she lightly bumped a closed fist into your side.

"You'll catch a cold if you're not careful with your admiraiton for the rain." You commented, your left hand coming to land softly on her shoulder.

"You'll catch my wrath!" She giggled, raising her fists in a fighting manner.

"Ooooh I'm so scared" You teased, hands over your heart in false fear.

Tech had his nose in his datapad as per usual, but he kept at least one eye the two of you as the banter continued.

"You should be!" She went to tackle you (All 60 some-odd pounds of her), when Echo held her back by her wrist.

"Alright, that's enough, children." He shook his head, a small smile on his lips. Not that he minded the sibling-like banter, he was just more focused on the mission.

"Right... We're stealing fancy clothing from a corrupt businessman?" You recalled, pulling the hood of your well-worn cloak up onto your head.

"That is one way to put it, yes. Cid has instructed us to steal a singular container filled to the brim with items of clothing that someone on her endless list of clientele is paying good credits to get their hands on. Or paws, whichever species this client is, I am unsure." Tech had put his datapad away now, attention on the three in front of him.

"Didn't exactly see myself visiting Alderaan for the first time for illegal purposes... Hopefully its as easy as she made it sound." You sighed, pulling your scarf up to serve as a mask to cover below your eyes. You'd rather not be caught stealing with your face on display. Ideally, you'd like to return here in the future simply on a mission to enjoy the planet.

"When is it ever as easy as she makes it sound?" Tech returned your sigh with a sigh of his own, his eyes meeting yours.

"Fair point. Let's get this over with."

The trek to the village was a rather long one.

A quiet cuss slipped past your lips as the rain soaked through your old cloak, making its way to your clothes - which were quickly becoming damp, and likely soon to be drenched considering the rain wasn't letting up any time soon.

You hadn't noticed Tech glance back at you until his pace slowed to meet yours, Echo and Omega now leading the group. "It appears that your old reliable cloak isn't quite as reliable as you've claimed it to be." Behind his goggles, his eyes searched for yours, which were trained on the path until he spoke up.

"Well, did I mention I picked it up on Tatooine?"

"A planet that never rains?"

"That's the one."

"That was hardly a wise choice, considering the terrible business-folk scattered all over that planet. Not to mention the fact that they were selling you a cloak that I presume was labeled as rain resistant?"

"It wasn't for sale." You bumped shoulders with him. With your scarf pulled over your mouth, he was unable to see the small mischievous smile forming on your lips, but your eyes told the same story of mischief.

His steps stuttered for half a second as he processed your words. "Allow me to get this straight - you stole a cloak off of a desert planet and assumed it could protect you against all weather?"

"I never claimed it was the wisest decision I've ever made." You shrugged, fingers pulling the cloak as close to you as possible.

"It wasn't an entirely horrible decision if you were planning to use it for certain desert purposes, such as easing the rays of the sun or breaking the harshness of the wind. The horrible decision was keeping the cloak and using it for rain." He stated, poking the sopping material covering your body.

"I'm well aware of this, thank you, Tech." You mumbled, sounding a bit defeated as you returned your gaze to the path ahead.

Tech decided against speaking on his thoughts. Instead, he chose to let his actions speak for him later.

The mission was going well thus far. The four of you were in a storage room connected to the clothing store. Unfortunately for all of you, Cid's client had a list of everything that was supposed to be in the container. Omega and Echo were sorting through the clothing while Tech was checking off each item on his datapad. You were standing guard by the door that connected to the store, just in case the storeowner entered the room. Your cloak was discarded in a corner of the room, not planning on putting that thing back on.

"Everything alright? Do I need to fly overhead for a quick escape?" Hunter's voice sounded over the comms, probably wondering why no one's checked in for a while.

"Quite alright, Hunter, it's taking a hair longer than previously anticipated to make sure all the contents are in this container." Tech responded.

A moment or so goes by when you hear Omega gasp. You turned in their direction, and Echo was blocking your view. "We're ready to go." He said, something off in his voice. You squinted your eyes up at him before nudging him out of your original line of sight.

"You good?" You asked Omega, who was making her way over to you.

"Yep! I uh- almost got my finger stuck in the container, is all."

Hardly believable, so you shift your gaze to Tech, who had his nose buried in his datapad for a moment before he looked up at you. "All set."

Beyond confused but ready to return to your warm blankets on the Maurauder, you pushed your suspicions to the back of your mind and shrugged, heading towards the exit when the door you had just walked away from slid open, revealing the unsuspecting storeowner, a rather high-class looking woman behind him.

"Shit." All of you, including Omega, cursed.

"What the blazes is going on here?!" The storeowner roared, blaster raised, to which you raised your blaster in his direction.

The woman behind the man turned around and ran out of the store, more than likely to find local authorities, or even more likely, her personal bodyguards.

The storeowner wasted no time shooting a blaster bolt in you direction, which you narrowly dodged, but not narrowly enough. The smell of something burning quickly reached your nostrils and the slight burn in your right shoulder following made you groan. Tech noticed this immediately and wasted no time sending a stun bolt into the man's chest, sending him backwards and onto the floor with a loud thud.

"Hunter, we may need that pick-me-up." Echo tapped into his comm as the four of you slipped out the back door, the container of clothes in his arms. Omega followed Echo, and you followed Omega, Tech bringing up the rear. Your brain barely had time to register the faint presence of his hand on your lower back before blaster fire erupted on your right. Both you and Tech put yourselves in front of Omega & Echo, Tech close at your side you as you each sent stun bolts in the direction of the blaster fire.

"Sooner better than later, Hunter!" Echo griped, trying not to drop the container as you all continued forward, finding cover in the trees. You'd expected a snippy response from the sergeant over the comms; instead the response was the sound of the Maurauder flying overhead, cables quickly dropping down to where the four of you were.

"What happened to quick and easy stealth mission?" Hunter grumbled over the comms, holding the ship steady as Echo hooked the cable to the container.

Rolling your eyes, you focused your blaster fire, trying to cover Omega as she made her way to the cables. She ended up slipping in the mud, letting out a squeak as she did so. Concern and adrenaline rushed through you. You threw a glance at Tech, silently asking him to cover you as you ran to Omega's side, picking her up and handing her to Echo on top of the container. "Go!" You shouted at them, returning some more blaster fire.

The cable pulled the container with Echo & Omega atop up to the ship, to safety, as you turned on your heel to aid Tech in your escape, but you hadn't noticed that Tech made it to the second cable until you felt his arm wrap around your waist and pull your body close to his. He immediately recognized he had startled you. "Apologies, but we must hurry. Hang on." His hold on your waist tightened as the cable pulled the both of you to safety, your back pressed into his broad chest and both your hands holding onto his arm around your middle for dear life. Similar to Wrecker, you weren't too entirely keen on heights.

When you finally reached the ramp of the Maurauder, you and Tech separated, but only slightly. As you both rushed inside, his hand had remained on your lower back yet again, making sure you made it inside safely.

"Hang onto something." Hunter shouted, and the ship jerked seconds after. You would have fallen over if Tech hadn't grabbed your hand and practically dragged you to the seats. Once secure, you relaxed just a hair. You almost wondered how you were able to keep calm as Hunter was moving the ship around so frantically, when you realized your hand was tightly gripping Tech's. You almost let go, but his eyes were already gazing into yours. "I've got you."

Once the ship finally entered hyperspace, you felt like you could breathe a little better, your hand going limp in Tech's hand and head lowering a little in exhaustion. "Let us have a look at your shoulder." He waisted no time making sure you were okay, already on his feet in front of you, slowly allowing your hand to drop so that you could release the safety bar.

Grumbling something under your breath, you reluctantly stood. "It's quite literally just a scratch, Tech... We don't need to waste supplies on something so small."

"Would you like for it to become infected and turn into something far worse than its current state?" Tech quickly replied. He hadn't removed his helmet yet, but you didn't need to see his face to know that his face was in a pinch

Holding his gaze for a moment, you debated on what to say, but you were too tired to argue. Wordlessly, you turned, making your way ahead of him to the bunks. You took a seat on the edge of one of the bottom bunks, looking up at him expectantly. "What do you need from me, Doc?" You teased, folding your arms over your chest.

Tech removed his helmet, gently setting it beside you before focusing his eyes on your shoulder. He removed his battle-worn gloves, trying to be as sterile as possible. Gently, he moved some fabric of your top around, trying to get a better look at the wound. A sigh passed his lips. Sure, the blaster bolt hadn't made a significant impact, but for just a graze, it wasn't pretty. "This is not simply a scratch, Cyar'ika."

His choice of words caused your heart to stutter, and you felt like a handful of butterflies stirred in your stomach, even if you didn't understand what it meant. You were suddenly aware of every slight touch of his, feeling like your skin was on fire from such a small touch on your shoulder.

As he stood straight, Tech hesitantly spoke up. "I need you to remove your top."

You blankly stared at him, still adjusting to his nickname for you only a moment ago. Taking a moment to gather your senses, you muttered "At least take me to dinner first." Your hands dropped to the hem of your shirt, beginning to remove your shirt when you felt Tech's hands cover your own, a hint of... was that concern in his eyes? You couldn't tell.

"While I hardly see how me taking you out to dinner has any impact on mending to your injury, I-"

"Oh my stars, Tech-" You let out a laugh, gently taking his hands into your own for a moment. "I was joking... We... Can discuss dinner another time." Giving him a warm smile, you released his hands, returning to the task of removing your shirt. You discarded your shirt onto the floor, doing your best to relax as you sat in front of Tech, now only wearing a bra from the waist up.

Unsurprisingly, Tech was a complete and utter gentleman. He only took half a second to regain composure before he returned to the task at hand: Your shoulder.

As his fingers began working at dressing your wound, he could almost sense the tension beneath your skin since you removed your top. "Do try and relax," His voice was just as soft as the occasional dance of his fingers along your skin. "I've got you."

You could've melted in that very moment, but if you had, Tech would've more than likely scolded you for not holding still. Admittedly, you wanted nothing more than for his touch to never leave your skin.

"What does that word mean? Cyar'ika?"

Silence and stillness met your question, causing you to look up at Tech. Not often was he silent when asked a question, normally he'd flow into a long, more often than not, complicated, answer. It only took a few seconds before he cleared his throat and spoke up, but it was noticable to you.

"Cyar'ika originates from the Mandalorian language, Mando'a. It translates to terms of endearment," The lighting on the Maurauder was horrible, but you could make out the faintest touch of pink on his cheeks as he continued. "such as darling or sweetheart." He finished laying the bacta over your wound, almost hesitant to meet your gaze.

All you could hear was the distant hum of the Maurauder in hyperspace and the relatively fast beat of your heart against your chest.

"I... got you something."

"What?" You blinked. When the kriff did he have time to get you something recently?

As Tech stepped away, you leaned down to grab your previously discarded shirt, pulling it over your head. He removed his pack from his back and set it on the floor to rummage through it. At the top of the pack was a green cloak, which he tugged out. He took a seat beside you on your right, the material resting in his hands. "I would not recommend wearing it around Ord Mantell any time soon, you may run into a very unhappy client of Cid's."

Before your fingers reached the cloak, you froze, trying to read his face. "What do you mean? Wha-" Realization dawned on you. That's why Omega was acting so odd and why Echo had not so subtly tried to block your view of Tech earlier. "You did not!"

"Steal from a client of Cid's and completely erase it off of the list of items that the client requested?" He looked proud of himself. "I did."

"You-" Your hands covered your mouth as you stifled a laugh. "I cannot believe you did that!"

"Well it seemed reasonable, considering how horrible the promised payment was, and I simply could not allow you to keep wearing that awful cloak from Tatooine." All he did was shrug before he lifted it a bit, giving you a better look at it. It had more material to cover the chest than your previous one had, which would give much better guarantee of not getting drenched in the rain. "I scanned the material of each item in that container, and this one seemed the best fit for what you need. May I?" He ebbed it towards you, hinting to helping you adorn it.

You nodded, a smile seeming to take permanent residence on your lips for the time being. He lifted it above your head before lowering it onto your shoulders, the hood resting weightlessly atop your head. Tech quietly reached into your space, adjusting your hair as needed, seemingly knowing that the cloak had trapped your hair uncomfortably beneath its material. Finally, he adjusted a few stray hairs along your face by tucking them behind your ears, and leaned back a little, admiring his work and allowing his hands to settle on his thighs.

"The material is Gabal wool. Gabals are a furry creature native to and often discovered on Rhinnal, particularly the Zirfan Glacier. According to my research, Rhinnal is quite an extraordinary planet. Located in the Darpa sector of the core worlds, there seemed to be incredible medicinal breakthroughs- Are you alright?"

Busted. You couldn't help but adore him more than ever in this very moment. The break of his tangent brought you back to reality, blinking a few times before responding. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make you stop. I just-" Words were difficult right now as you practically choked down the feelings that were bubbling to the surface. "I appreciate you." Horrible choice of words. Obviously you loved the entire crew, including Tech, and you were pretty certain he was aware of this, but saying it directly to his face while you were juggling the feelings in your heart just didn't seem possible. "I love it when you explain things in great detail." That wasn't a lie, you definitely enjoyed listening to him talk.

"You do?" His voice was quieter now.

Nodding and your heart quickening, you spoke up once more. "What was that Mando'a word? Cyar'ika?" It was his turn to nod. "Can I call you that?"

Tech actually looked confused for a brief moment before speaking. "Of course... It's a term of endearment." He reminded you, that faint pink hitting his cheeks once again.

"I know. Thank you... Cyar'ika."

A number of heartbeats passed before his right hand found your left that was resting quietly on your thigh, lacing his fingers through your own. With his left hand, cupped your cheek. His honeyed eyes searched yours for consent, and you gave the faintest of nods before he leaned in to press his forehead against your own, dropping his gaze to take a moment to reminisce in your touch.

Like the waves on Kamino, Tech's lips crashed into your own. While you had been expecting it, it still caught you a little off guard. His left hand trailed from your cheek to the side of your neck, his thumb resting on your cheek, as your right hand traveled from his wrist to land on his chestpiece.

Too soon, he broke the kiss, his breathing heavy, matching your own. Your foreheads remained against each other, and when he went to sit up, you grabbed the upper edge of his chest piece and pulled him forward, accidentally bumping noses together as it was your turn to kiss him first. This urged a small gasp to escape him, not expecting the sudden contact. A small smile crossed your lips as you noticed his surprise, your right hand moving upward to the side of his neck as your lips parted, his own lips following in suit shortly.

You leaned into him, and his right hand released your left, and found your thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze, which earned a small noise of pleasure to escape you. Your left hand dragged up his arm from his hand, and landed on his shoulder, which you used to help pull yourself into his lap. He helped, of course, the hand on your thigh making its way to your hip for a moment.

Tech's left hand made its way to the base of your skull, finding your hair, which only encouraged another noise of pleasure from you. You felt his lips shift into a smirk before breaking the kiss, his eyes meeting yours immediately. "Do not allow me to forget to note your sensitive areas."

That earned him a smack on the chest, and a laugh from you. "You're a smug little shit. I know you, you wouldn't forget the galaxy's most difficult mathematical equation."

He returned your laugh with a soft chuckle, and reached up to cup your cheek again with his left hand. "You cannot imagine how long I have wanted to do that."

You leaned in for another kiss when knock at the door interrupted the two of you, both of your bodies tensing for a moment.

"A ridiculously long time. It's about time. Come on, you two, we need you out here." Hunter. Of course it was Hunter. Hunter and his stupid heightened senses.

I do read some krs!Cale-centric fanfiction but when it come to LCF 'canon'-verse, I avoided E-rated and shippy ones and I don't usually bookmarked them

It's hard to find one to my liking because most M-rated and T-rated ones still with ships and s3xual content while there are few with those rates because of the theme or gore or language but most are not, so...

I like the light read ones, but most of the times I just want to read the heavy ones that without ships but those are so rare...

Idk whether you, @grumpywiltedlettuce, already read them or not but these are the one I like the most!!

Yes, I'll forever believe this was the reason why he gave us a cousin reveal (after 20+ yrs!!).... and also cuz kaishin was taking over his canon couple,,, no matter what other reason might be there or what he may give.

You wanted them to be cousins from the beginning? Then why the hell did you wait for over 20 yrs to reveal that??? Yeah no, I am not believing in any of the reasons Gosho gives for "revealing" them as cousins after over two decades.

Canon can go into the trash can and fuck itself (and f u too Gosho).

If they were going to be cousins from the beginning, they should have never given us the kaishin food for all these yrs. Neither in the manga, nor in the movies.

All that poetry Shinichi spouts everytime he is describing Kaito? That one time Shinichi held his dick? Those kissing noises in M 3? That trust they show in each other M 8 (and that train arc??)?? And I can go on and on and on about all the times they added flame to the fire and made kaishin shippers grow into what it is today.

And then suddenly they drop "cousins" on us

And you want me to accept that?? Yeah, no. Not gonna happen.

Kaishin has helped me cope with so many things, I am not gonna drop it, I am not accepting this canon.

If people want to, they are free to do so. If they want to purge their kaishin fanworks, you can do that (tho it would be incredibly sad to loose the fanworks. This fandom has some of the best fics and fanworks i've come across), if you want to leave the ship, you can do that too (which, again, would be very sad, cuz I've met some of the nicest people in this fandom, and it's one of the few fandom ship spaces that is not so tixic... as compared to many other fandom ship groups)

And that's all from me for now over this reveal. I just had to get this out of the system y'know? This reveal sucks. They are giving kaishin akai/akemi treatment, dammit.

Dude, Marika x Rennala situation is real and deadly, but as for your second example there is only ONE person who is notorious for giving Rellana no personality or acknowledgement beyond being braindead Marika's simp while also trashing on Rellana x Messmer over "misogyny and lesbophobia". No, spamming "misogyny" accusations in Elden Ring fandom like they're in a DPS check situation in general. And with all due respect to them pumping out fanart like assembly line, they and a group of their passionate fans is not "Er fandom". Or course both ships are absolutely alright! Rellana believes that Fire and Moon should be together as they always have as stated in the description of her blades in Japanese (something localisation team distorted into near-opposite direction)! You know, like they always have since the times of Fire Giants and Astrologers, a bond also treasured in Caria Manor with keeping Sword of Night and Flame! If anything, he is her love interest as he was worth abandoning the birth right as a princess in her eyes! Though one might argue it is ideological and Rellana is idealising, but standing for her beliefs despite the consequences is strong! Messmer has a TON lot to work through with Rellana, seeing a person that loves his curse, when this very thing ruined his life and has been scaring his own mother, and you can see in what good outcomes it can bring both!

Radagon and Rennala, on the other hand, are literally canon. Fromsoft were the ones who """reduced Rennala to just a simp""" by making her go insane from heartbreak, yet even then, she had a backstory as a Moonlight Witch who took over the Academy, and had tender bond with both Rellana and Ranni. Something was whack here, but nothing says Radagon didn't even try to love her or had life with her worthy of shippy fluff. He is just heavily compromised as a person because he is literally a sentient law of nature (he is Golden Order), that depends on how Marika shaped it. Of course he would reforge her wedding gift into a golden sword, it is literally what Golden Order DOES with cultures and the world! This guy was NOT kicking and resisting when he got called to marry Marika instead, but even then who can tell he didn't feel bitter that he had to hurt everyone by his very being and duties? Marika proclaimed to "study the depths of the Golden Order" as transition ( 🥁 ) into a new, more civilized and informed era! You'd think keeping Radagon close 24/7 would prevent him from visiting his divorce family more often? This stuff and this pair is still in the source material, and it isn't anyone's business to claim superior interpretation across the fandom unless female character is literally just a plot decide which Rennala doesn't magically become only because we find her at her lowest point (so... like we find most of the "legendary" characters in every Soulsborne game already....).

This was just me musing about the ships, but yes, again: literally nothing is wrong with these ships! It is when fans do reduce Rennala and Rellana to just simps what's frustrating, but shallow takes on female characters is problem of fandoms and interacting with media in general, and can't be blamed on concrete ships!

I have deep loathing for fans who complain about this issue yet themselves write female characters in a very shallow way but NOW it's okay because it's yuri and not MxF! Vocal Mariadeline fans did that in Bloodborne, vocal shippers of Rellana or Rennala with Marika do that in Elden Ring... 🤦‍♂️ They claim to be super feminist, yet are sending opposite message by having high quality requirements for MxF ships while celebrating cottagecore mediocrity and shallow portrayals for yuri ships. So, the elite yuri ships are already good by definition and don't need depth, thought and drama, unlike them peasant MxF ships that MUST be well-written and respect characters involved? Is this what they're saying? You either despise ANY reduction (?) of female character or accept any of them, no double standards. Okay, after having a few days to process, I am allowing myself one vent post to get it out of my system and then it’s back to ✨positive vibes✨ only

If I see one more goddamn smarmy post about how “the writing was on the wall the whole time” (with the undercurrent of “you were too stupid to see it, I have the only valid interpretation”) I’m going to lose it

Had we not had 8x05, the breakup still would have bummed me out, but I would have said, you know what, fair, we didn’t see a whole lot of their relationship, a lot of it was fanon and headcanons. We had a good run. But we did get 8x05, apparently some of it filmed out of order knowing a breakup was coming, and what was the point? To be cruel? It felt like a slap in the face to people who liked that relationship.

They could have laid some groundwork to show some cracks in the relationship, but no. Ignoring disingenuous interpretations from people who have been rooting for the ship to crash and burn since day one, 8x05 established Buck & Tommy as a solid couple. Tommy gets along with Eddie, the three of them had great chemistry together. Tommy takes care of Buck when he’s hurt. Tommy thinks the curse is a bunch of bs (as does Eddie) but still went with Buck to have a funeral for a mummy. It’s like I watched someone cook an elaborate, delicious dinner for me and then they immediately threw it in the trash, and other people around me made fun of me for being blindsided and upset because I should have seen that coming.

I won’t pretend the general audience is a monolith who all have the same opinions. I’m sure there are people who don’t care and just shrugged their shoulders that another relationship of Buck’s fizzled out. But I have 2 friends who watch the show and aren’t Fandom Fans, and they are always my barometer for how people who don’t have brain rot (affectionate) feel about the show. One really liked the relationship, the other was neutral to mildly negative on it, and both of them agreed that it felt like the breakup came out of nowhere and made no sense given the context of the previous episode. So please stop pretending that it’s only BT fandom fans who have their knickers in a twist about how it played out.

If this isn’t leading to buddie, then I don’t want to see another love interest for either Buck or Eddie for the rest of the show. Tommy had so much potential to break the cycle of Buck’s love interests (and interviews from last season seem to support that they were aware of this and planning on utilizing that) and throwing it away feels like such a waste.

So yeah, instead of being just bummed, I’m pissed. I do not know if there was BTS drama or if Tim got some other grand idea for Buck’s storyline this season — but given how plots are adopted and dropped at rapid fire pace this season (something I was willing to forgive last season because of the shortened production timeline and fewer episodes), I’m highly skeptical that there’s any sort of overarching plan here.

I’ve never thought buddie would actually happen on the show, but I also never thought either Buck or Eddie would ever be anything other than straight, so I’d be happy to be proven wrong. I’m just a little jaded by seeing people doing a victory lap convinced that buddie canon is imminent when I think that they are giving the writers a lot more credit than they deserve for supposedly crafting this epic love story for the last five or so years when a lot of that is also just generous fanon interpretation. I need explicit confirmation within the show by the end of this season that at least one of them has caught feelings or I’m over entertaining the possibility it will actually happen.

I know the joy will come back. But I really hope the same plot lines playing out ad nauseam for every character stops because I’m getting a little tired.

So I got a bit caught up with the Transformers Tabletop RPG game and the NPC/player characters, especially Breakout because her name is Breakout and she's a red sports car.

And since she had no canon design, I had to give her one. Designing what I think a canon character looks like was a lot of fun, though.

So like, of course in my head she's Breakdown and Knock Out's kid just like Wildbreak. Breakdown did not expect the sparkling he was carrying to be as tiny as she ended up being, but she takes after Knock Out a lot more with a few hints in there of Breakdown. In my head, she's the older sibling, even though Wildbreak is bigger (and takes after Breakdown's OG frame, because I am a Breakdown-got-the-big-frame-remod truther). They're different kinds of cars. She's a sports car, he's more of a muscle car. I fashioned her design after the Acura NSX.

She doesn't have a visible bot badge because her parents stressed to her that it's better to keep that hidden rather than making it obvious. Doesn't matter which side you're on. She is cautious and plans things out, tries to be friendly/good teammate even though she lacks her creators' more natural charisma, and really looks up to Bumblebee. Her parents were very supportive, even if they were concerned when she wanted to side with the Bots instead of the Cons. She has a very strong sense of justice and right and wrong and Doing The Right Thing Even When It's Hard and her creators have no idea where that came from haha.

I ship her with the other TFRPG character Chemtrail, because of course I'm shipping her with the impulsive, reckless, baby seeker who is always trying to showboat and trash talks all the time (it just hit me that she's basically like ES Nova Storm but hates bots more damn).

Um, idk it's because it's her fucking book? It's not Lucien's book. It's not Azriel's book. It's Elain's book, first and foremost. SJM has always talked about stories spotlighting strong female main characters.

Saying we want what Elain wants is not a bad thing?? If it's her book that's next, then yes. What she wants is the most important thing.

We are not SJM. We don't get to decide "what is best for her". In fact, acting like you ship Elucien because you "want what's best for her" is acting morally superior and condescending.

You are actually just assuming you know what is best for her. Especially when Elain acts like a ghost and loses her boldness around Lucien canonically right now. We don't get to just act like we know the character better than the writer herself. SJM will write what she wants. Elain will desire whomever she wants.

And I will goddamn support whoever Elain wants. Because SJM will write it so whoever Elain wants and ends up with IS THE CORRECT, BEST choice.

When Elain wanted Greyson, I wanted her to be happy and get Greyson. When he rejected her so cruelly, I was angry. I wouldn't have wanted her to end up with Greyson after that but if Elain had continued to want Greyson, I'm sure SJM would have written it so I would've rooted for that as well.

Elain now wants Azriel. That is not something Elriels made up. It is on the page. She is the one initiating every step of their late night encounter in the BC. She is the one who wants Azriel to kiss her. She is the one who gets aroused just when Azriel touches her neck.

If we want Azriel, it's because Elain wants Azriel.

That being said, if I were to open the next ACOTAR book and I see Elain is so hurt by the misunderstanding in the BC that she spends more time with Lucien (somehow...lmao) and starts to grow feelings for him ... I WOULD ALSO SUPPORT THAT!

I have said it time and time again, and so have many, many other Elriels. If Elain had wanted Lucien from the get go, we would've also supported Elucien. Hell, I did support Elucien, until I saw how uncomfortable and resentful Elain was of that bond in ACOWAR.

And honestly, I might've even been of the opinion that "eh SJM might have them makeup and it'll be her usual reluctant mates plot" IF SJM hadn't then brought in Azriel and shown me how Elain acts and behaves differently with someone she actually wants.

It is wildly different. If you cannot see that and acknowledge that, then it's your fault, not SJM's writing.

If I open up the next ACOTAR book, and Elain suddenly wants fucking Tarquin or Helion.... then I would root for Tarquin or Helion. Whether it's Azriel or Lucien or anyone else doesn't matter. What Elain wants is what SJM will write as her endgame. And true, Elain could grow to like someone else.... but right now, she likes Azriel. So right now, I am supporting Azriel.

It's not that fucking hard to understand.

Elain is an Archeron sister. The sisters are the focus of this book, SJM has said that time and time again. Yes there will likely be books beyond JUST the sisters, but not UNTIL the sisters' stories have been told.

AKA it's not gonna be Feyre, Nesta, Gwyn/Vassa/Mor/Amren, then Elain.

Elain's story does matter more than Gwyn's or Emerie's or Vassa's or Mor or Amren. I would say Feyre's matters the most, and Nesta and Elain are equal in terms of importance. That's how the series has been set up.

I don't know why people keep thinking this is Throne of Glass or CC. It's not. The setup and pattern has been made very clear. People are choosing not to see it, and then coming up with every single reason under the sun for trashing the people who read what was written and are rooting for Elriel accordingly.

I am a self proclaimed multishipper. I have my otp’s with characters, sure, but I don’t mind exploring another ship with one of those characters in it or mind when others ship it!

And obviously there are ships i simply don’t like, that’s very normal! But again, I’m not saying you aren’t allowed to have your own opinions on a ship or that you have to like every ship, I’m just saying please don’t trash other people’s ships.

I see this very commonly where a story centers around a ship, and anytime one of those characters are shipped with someone else there’s a lot of “ew” and “I didn’t realize people actually shipped that” or “I just thought that was a crack ship” or “I just thought people did that for fun”

I’m so sorry but to me this just comes across as so rude to people who do yes, actually like alternative ships!

People should be able to ship in a different way than the popular/canon ship(s). Whether someone is shipping another character with the ship to make them polyamorous, or if it’s a monogamous different ship. Whether it makes the ship a friendship or even a qpr. Whether it ships two characters who don’t like each other in the media their from, or characters who have hardly interacted, or characters from the same media who haven’t interacted at all. Whether it’s characters who aren’t even from the same media.

People should be able to ship how they want

What made you first ship them?

For reasons beyond human understanding have I latched onto Octavian, dragged him outta the trash and decided "That one's mine!".

I also really loved playing with the rebel side of things, I think that is sooo underdeveloped in canon, even more so after the Romans were introduced, like, what were there TWO separate rebel fractions? Or did Luke know about Romans? Were the rebels actually Romans and Greeks? That would mean Luke must have had an in with Romans and Octavian always loved power, wanted to rule, what if he worked with the Greek rebels together under the promise that he could lead the Roman side of things one day? Mmmh maybe Luke and Octavian developed feelings for each other, leader of the Greeks, leader of the Romans. What if that's the real reason he hates the Greeks, because the Greek good guys are why their plans for world domination fell through?

That was basically the thought process that led me to this ship :3

izuocha and bakudeku (Ch. 428)

So at this point I do not want Izuocha nor Bakudeku to be canon

Thanks to the latest chapter it ended with Uraraka crying and Izuku coming to her aid. And a portion of the fandom were instantly happy that Katsuki and Izuku (bakudeku) was officially out of the picture

But the thing about it is that there’s no way that Izuku would confess to her, that is of course, if Izuku had romantic feelings for her. Not after such a big war in all of history

Their relationship was never developed in such a way unlike Katsuki’s and Izuku’s. Maybe in the beginning sure I could see it but as time went by they slowly went their separate ways focusing on different people and their own personal goals. Uraraka’s main villain became Toga thus their relationship was developed and Izuku’s main villain became Shigaraki, but in turn this also started to include Katsuki in the mix

So to say that izuocha is going to be end game, it’s going to be canon is just as much as a dream as bakudeku is

It would be better if Izuku and Uraraka simply have a heart felt conversation just like they did when they were on the cliff. To speak to one another and say what’s on their mind

And I am hoping that that is going to happen. Because it would be very awkward to simply have a heart felt conversation about what they went through and then for Izuku to finish the conversation with ‘hey by the way I like you, I’ve had a crush on you for quite some time’ that would be extremely awkward and it just doesn’t fit Izuku’s character

But if, and this is a very big IF, if it did happen then why make them separate in the first place? Why develop a relationship between with Uraraka and Toga / Izuku and Katsuki. Why create two different relationships when at the end it was going to be Izuku and Uraraka

It makes no sense at the end. If Horikoshi is going to make Izuku and Uraraka canon at the end then why would he decide to separate them when a relationship, not a friendship relationship, but a romantic relationship could have happened. Why would he decide to focus on a relationship between Uraraka and Toga as well as Izuku and Katsuki when instead he could have focused on Izuku and Uraraka developing together creating more feelings to a point where it was possible for both of them to confess to one another

However if Horikoshi does decide to make Izuku and Uraraka canon, if they both confess and they end up as a couple then it would be horrible writing, or at least that’s how I view it and how I feel about it

I won’t be mad nor pissed that Katsuki and Izuku (bakudeku) did not end up becoming canon if anything I would simply be upset and sad for the sole purpose that so much development not just by themselves but as well as the development they had both created between Toga and Katsuki was a waste of time and it was all for nothing

Which is why I would rather not see izuocha nor bakudeku become canon because so much development would have been viewed as trash and a waste of time if Izuocha was going to be end game

It would be better for it to be a heart felt conversation rather than a heart felt conversation + a love confession. But hey, this is how I view it and would rather have neither ship become canon

I remember when I was a teenager (range from 14 to like 16), I've had unhealthy "friendship" with a girl one year older I admired a lot for artistic talent and larde influence. My self-esteem was even lower than it is now (somehow it is possible lol), so a popular and skilled artist clinging to me to the point of regularly messaging me was like.. something else okay?

The thing is, I don't have good memories about her besides initial shock of her wanting to be my friend. But I remember the highlights. When she learned that I watched an anime we both liked with a localized voice over rather than subtitles, she trashed me and told me that I did not "truly" experience these characters then because "character is this way because they were voiced this way" (in original). When she learned that Britney Spears was my favourite singer, she had a full ass performative disgusted fit at how cringe it was, and how she had actual music taste because she's been listening to Beatles since childhood and it just kept going. She also based a lot of her identity as a fanartist on how she was waaaaay better and above shipping OCs with canon and how "forcing your mary sue on the character you like" was disrespectful to the author and the character. Also I remember that I felt very happy that my fanfic got 30 likes, and when she heard that she basically bawled from laugher at how pathetic I was and how 30 people meant absolutely nothing.

Now, to think of it... I always seek subtitles versions and refuse to acknowledge localizations of animes as a concept and don't understand why people consider local country voice actors as legit and credit them, when they are just noncanon placeholders. Any question with the "what song you associate with this character?" gives me such crippling, paralyzing anxiety that I can spend hours looking for a "right" song all over Youtube, to make sure that as I've put it once, "my choice of a song is tasteful and not just some fanmade vocaloid shit". (when "some fanmade vocaloid shit" is like half of my playlist) I am so, so, SO reluctant to ship a character I like with an OC or self-ship that I scan the source material for an obscure and underwritten character that might fit the type of a personality I seek instead with some headcanons. Also I will hunt for every single hint of the "canon John Soulsborne", seeking to generalize the character as much as possible, and avoid using a character I myself play as. And to think back on it, when I've been a microcelebrity in two other fandoms, I kept feeling like I was nothing and no one liked me, even though I got like x20 more attention and engagement than I do these days. 🙃

I don't really know what happened to her besides her popularity skyrocketing to absolutely absurd and unthinkable amounts. I remember though that she has been drawing many characters way more diverse and interesting than they were in any given fandom, but in a few years she obliterated any and all identity in her artstyle and made it look like every single Twitter anime artist, to the point you can never tell it is HER fanart without her signature. 🤔 I always thought it was a huge L even despite the fact that the change made her shovel money. The only thing that didn't effect me was when she smugly showed a close-up of how messy and careless ruffles on the dress she drew were, saying that there was no point in putting attention to little details in art because no one would look for them and only things that immediately capture the eye require care. -_- I just went "hmph" and still like to detalise to this day gchghjvb

But yeah, it is just. Odd. How contagious someone's insecurities can be. It was so clearly projection in retrospective, yet it shaped me as a person in some ways, probably shaped her other friends too. To think of it, overcoming your insecurities and learning to love yourself IS not just about yourself. Self-hatred and profound insecurities can seem like "innocent" flaw that you can afford because it only hurts you and not others. But it literally can and will hurt others dgdhcfhbx 🤡 So yeah, guys, just try to go easy on yourself, okay? In late 2022, the QZGS fandom had a rec event. I posted each rec in its own post, and now two years later, I finally have a masterlist.

I added some new recs in addition to the original set. These were in my notes at the time, but I didn't get myself in order in time for posting. I'm very glad to be able to include them now.

Author’s summary: Huang Shaotian’s retirement is announced to the world at the last moment, right at the end of the season, but Blue Rain know about it a long time before that. Huang Shaotian retires, everyone expects him to stick around Blue Rain, but he doesn't. And then it's sad. Rec notes: Sad retirement fic 😭😭😭. My favorite thing about this fic (besides all the feelings and character stuff and friendships and OCs and everything else) is the very realistic look it takes about what happens when people move away. One of my favorite parts of this is that Su Mucheng and Ye Xiu are in this together, and there’s such a heavy weight to their history that comes across in the fic. A non-english work or translation - 夜莺 by 青山为雪 (Verdancia)

Author’s Summary: L向群星致意。(t/l: Greetings to the stars) Rec notes: i have sadly only read this via machine translation, but even with the clunky “translation” this fic is gorgeous and I love it deeply. A lot of the story is told in flashback,and follows Astronaut/explorer Huang Shaotian and his relationship with Yu Wenzhou over the years. A series of partings and reunions set against the backdrop of a mystery in the current day. There’s some cool funky stuff the author does with time and perception that eventually rips your heart out in the end, but it’s worth it. Adaptation: Novel Pairing: Yu Wenzhou/Huang Shaotian Contains: There is major character death involved but it’s a bit of a twist that unfolds as the fic progresses. If I were to tag it as if it were my own fic, I would use “Choose Not To Warn.”

OMGGGG LETS FUCKING GOOOOO. ok so. i am such a jungbae/inho fan on the quiet. idk how it happened it just Did. i think it started from seeing how genuinely friendly jungbae was to "youngil" and how he'd touch him, hug him etc so often. it was rlly sweet. ppl talk a lot abt inho glaring at jungbae but i wish they'd talk more abt the flip side of it which was that jungbae genuinely liked him and saw him as his friend :( yeah he was suspicious of him after mingle but tbh if i saw a guy expertly snap someone's neck and show 0 remorse or distress abt it yeah i would be suspicious too LOL. i don't think it's the "killing someone" part that would bother jungbae, after all he's not an idiot and he knows he would've died if inho hadn't killed that guy...... i think it's more the way that inho was so cold and unbothered abt it yknow? ANYWAYS IM GETTING KINDA OFF TRACK. the point is that jungbae genuinely liked him and cared abt him for the most part imo

with inho, unpopular opinion but i don't think he hated jungbae. it's funny to make memes abt it but i don't think he did. the real tragedy of it is that i'm not sure he felt much of anything abt jungbae at all? he was irritated by his presence bc he kinda was a barrier to him being able to manipulate gihun bc he provided gihun with a close support person he could confide in outside of inho. but i don't think inho hated him. i don't think he rlly cared enough abt him to hate him. jungbae was another pawn in the game and once he needed to be sacrificed, inho did it. i don't think he enjoyed killing jungbae though, and i think he probably felt somewhat guilty abt it. it's my belief that he didn't set out with the intent to kill jungbae in the rebellion, hence why he offered to go with gihun instead of jungbae at first. if the plan had always been for him to kill jungbae, he would've never asked to go with gihun himself yknow?

ig it's one of those ships where i can't imagine it working in canon but it's soooo fun to imagine how it might work in an au/outside of canon. i wanna see jungbae's kindness slowly wear down inho's apathy. i wanna see inho falling for him and hating himself for it. and i want to see jungbae utterly confused abt the whole situation, lol. ig i just love the idea of inho slowly realising that he cares a lot abt and might even be in love with this guy who he viewed as just a pawn/tried to kill in the past. there's something very powerful abt it to me, that perspective shift happening from inho viewing him as a tool/human trash to being like wait. hang on. that is a whole human being with thoughts and feelings and beliefs. and then accidentally falling in love with him lol. it's like 457 but even messier
