does anyone else remember when 19-year-old musician Lil Nas X released a single about riding horses and having fun. Became a wildly popular song. And then he was forcibly outted to the public and now every fucking day he’s fighting for his life against white supremacists and the Christian church. He’s only 22. Can you even imagine the immense pressure? The hurt you’d be experiencing in his shoes? At twenty fucking two? His music is amazing and his replies on Twitter are spot-on, but how are so many of you not enraged at what he’s being forced to endure?

There is this very strange and depressing dichotomy within me right now, where I realize that I am an oppressed person within my country, as a black Woman in the United States, with an Asian Muslim partner.
I’m in constant fear for my life and the life of the people I love but I also recognize that I have the good fortune to be in a relatively safe neighborhood, and live in a nice house and have a good education.
But the generational and mental trauma is still so palpable, that I deliberately have to look away from situations like what’s going on in Cuba, Palestine, and most recently Haiti and Afghanistan so that I don’t go fucking insane.
Which makes me feel really bad, because I know that those situations deserve attention and your thoughts and publicity and support.
It is so strange being an oppressed minority in one country and then having to see a constant barrage of images and media surrounding even more oppressed minorities in other countries and constantly see people beg you to do something about it
I feel guilty that I can’t help people who are even more worse off than me, but I also feel so terrible that I have the obligation to do so despite wading through my own crises.
Someone please tell me I’m not the only one.

BLM is not a trend
One year ago today, George Floyd was murdered.
Although his killer was found guilty, centuries-old racism and hate still stands. Black Lives Matter is not just a hashtag. It is finally giving voice to the marginalized groups who live in constant fear of bastard police and the system, among others. Do not let it fade into oblivion like a silly trend. BLM represents lives and a movement to improve the quality of those lives and prevent deaths. George Floyd will not be forgotten.

COVID is slowly becoming a "third world" disease. While first world countries are hoarding vaccines, having doses for populations many times their size, third world countries can't get any because pharma companies want to sell to the first world countries first. Even then, first world countries will receive them first. While rich countries recover from COVID, they will forget about the pandemic while many other countries live the absolute worst moment of the pandemic without being able to vaccinate their population.

I just want my OTP to derrive meaning from each other in a way that would be incredibly unhealthy and codependent if two people did that in real life but is profoundly poetic and romantic within the context of a fictional piece of media in consuming.

what I really like about all these vintage couple’s portraits is that there is a very certain romatic decorum kept up – certain themes and poses – which, while of course being the mainstream preferred view of couples repeated throughout many studios, are just… so nice to look at.
this staged affection, a mix of theatricality and intimacy, the couple holding still for a couple of moments and now immortalised in a very set sequence of embraces and kisses. there is a charm to it even when I can’t tell whether this was a genuine couple portait or just actors hired by the photographer.
the kiss on the bare shoulder (eyes perfectly averted), the cheek caress, the piano and the violin, the interrupted embrace, the woman tilted back as in a half-stopped dance…

Texas Republicans are now trying to pass Bill SB1646, which would remove transgender minors from parents who affirm their gender and support them getting proper transition care.
I repeat, they are trying to criminalize parents supporting their trans children and make it legally child abuse, and a removable offense
