Has it always been so cold?
Shivering alone in your bed despite the thick blanket over your body, clutching onto the sheets. The same sheets he used to lay in right beside you, holding you close to his chest as he whispered sweet nothing into your ear, his soft lips often finding yours or any spot on your face, the same face he loved to compliment along with everything else about you, Suguru Geto, a name you will never forget for as long as you live in this hell hole your life has turned into.
"I love you," Suguru used to whisper, his breath warm against your ear as his large hands held you close, rubbing your back gently and so soothingly it always made you sleepy, his presence calmed you down as no other could, Suguru was the only steady thing in the storm you're so used to, the only one who can keep you on you're own two feet.
You loved Suguru, perhaps too much at some point, maybe you still love him too much which would explain the hot tears running down your cheeks as you hugged the pillow that still held a bit of the cologne he used to wear, holding it so close to your body, trying to imagine that it was him.
But he was gone, off on his own path for a dream that seemed impossible to achieve, but Suguru was always determined once he set his mind to something, even if it could kill him.
I love you. I love you, I love you so much.
Your mind was a mess, with thoughts flooding it seemingly with no end to it, he was such a liar "I would never leave you" Suguru said once after cuddling with you as he did each night, but he did, didn't he? He left to fulfill his new goal, a new future for sorcerers, a world where normal humans didn't exist, gone from this earth. Such a stupid goal.
"Hm? It's okay, sweetheart, I already ate this morning" Suguru would brush you off with an easy smile on his lips, God, how did you never notice? His tired eyes, his posture dropping, his smile never reaching his eyes, and how he pulled away from everyone, even you. The nightly cuddles became less before Suguru would only sleep in his dorm, texting became less and so did speaking to one another.
And before you knew it, Suguru became a stranger to you, a stranger you knew like the back of your hand, a stranger that held your heart so tightly in his clutches. The day Suguru left, a part of you left with him, something you will never get back.
A choked sob escaped you, trying to pull the pillow impossibly closer to your body but it could never replace him or the warmth his frame radiated.
"I want to get married someday," "Oh yeah?" Suguru chuckled. "Yeah, I want to marry you!" You replied with a warm smile as you played with a few strands of his long hair, the hair tie on the bedside table "Quite forward of you, don't you think honey?" Suguru teased with a grin on his soft lips before he stole a kiss from you "Alright then, how about this... I'll marry you once we graduate" Suguru spoke, his sharp eyes holding nothing but utter love, he meant every word, he'd marry you one day.
Such a sweet yet painful memory, but that's all you lived off the past months as you slept in this cold bed.
(I wrote this at midnight and English isn't my first language so I'm sorry if there are any mistakes)
