Freakshow remained focused upon his movements. A leg lifted and swung, causing his body to twirl on one foot upon the narrow beam. It landed softly in front of the other. Body arched back slightly before the man jumped in order to perform a back flip upon the beam. In an instant, it was followed by another.

Freakshow paused for a split second; leg lifting up and against his body as arms moved to his side to offer himself support while balancing. Leg moved down as his body shifted forward; one hand caught the surface of the beam. With a gentle push, he lifted his body upwards with one hand. The other moved to out as his back remained as straight as possible.

As if frozen, he stayed still like this for a couple of seconds before his body shifted once more. His body changed from upside down to a sitting position upon the beam.

He just needed a small moment as a break before using all of his strength to continue his act.

Freakshow made sure his jacket was away tucked safely away. Though nobody here had yet made him distrust them more than he already distrusted strangers, he could never be too carefree about his belongings. Especially when it came to the contents of his jacket.

Of course, now wasn’t the time to worry about that. That was for another day; one when he would head back to Amity Park. For now; he had to focus on his act. Show off how great he was at balancing; perhaps persuade a few watchers to later visit his circus.

Upon hearing the voice, the man - now in an outfit perfect for his act yet so alien for others to see him wear if they knew him - whipped around to face the stranger.

Another creature others would class as a freak.

“You’re not too late. You’re just a little early,” grin grew from ear to ear, “though, I’m glad someone wants to see me perform,” he twisted around, moving towards some chalk to use on his hands. He motioned towards the beam, “it won’t be as impressive as what my old Reaper act could do but I do hope you’ll be entertained.”

He began to move closer to the beam before pausing, looking at other once more. “Perhaps you’d be entertained enough to visit my circus at some point, too.”

Up In the Fair

Cross Bones strolled across the fair grounds, looking at all the attractions that were on display. Food stalls, dunking booths, a bomb diffusing a bomb game, all were well in good but he was in the mood for something different.

That’s when he saw it.  A balancing act. Something he could just sit down and relax and enjoy. Sounded like a good deal to him. So he entered toward it, and looked around.

“Hullo! I’m not too late for the act am I?” The ink creature inquired.

so I heard there was a balance act going on here?

“I can confirm that there is indeed a balancing act here. A beam balancing act!” A simple one unlike those he forced made his minions ghosts performers at Circus Gothica do. Why risk his life when he was highly important at his circus?

“All is welcome to see me, Freakshow, perform!”

Did you have hair once? If so what color was it?

“Yes, I used to have hair once. It used to be a dark brown. Of course, I used to dye it a lot when younger. I mostly went for black but I did go for other dark colours as well.”

This might be a bit unusual for this blog, but I am going to do an analysis…of an object. That staff is one of the most interesting tools/weapons in the entire show, and they didn’t even bother to give it a name. I’ll just call it “the staff,” since that’s all Freakshow calls it, but yeah.

Like I said, this is out of the ordinary, so it might get messy, but I’ll do my best.

What kinds of punishment do you give to the stronger minions?

“Nothing too bad,” the man started, leaning on his staff, “just something to help get them back in line. Like using whips or a bit of a beating with hands. My dear Lydia also helps out. You should see what kind of damage her tattoos can do.”

He’s just going to stop what he’s doing for a moment. “Should I ask if you’re okay or?”

What do you do if your minions disobey you?

“Punish them,” a small pause, “it really depends on which one disobey me. The weaker ones I don’t need anymore are punished and sometimes killed while the more stronger and important ones are punished enough to make them understand that they should never do that again.”
