Why Lyme Disease Causes Mental Illness
According to an article by Global Mental Health Programs, Lyme causes inflammation. The inflammation that occurs can decrease serotonin levels, which helps protect brain cells. It is also known, that neurotoxins can increase when inflammation is present. Both of these factors can contribute to neurological and cognitive deficits in Lyme disease patients.
The hippocampal area of the brain can also experience damage from neurotoxins. Damage to the hippocampal region of the brain has been seen in those who have dementia and depression.
Take the proper measures to ensure that you do not get Lime disease. Simple steps including hiring  professional tick control companies keep you healthy.
