So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

When I was a kid, playing WoW, Deathwing was my favorite character, and I read Beyond the Dark Portal all the time. It has some of my favorite Deathwing moments.

I think this question is best answered as attached to the first--Nightlight v1 was from before I decided that a big thing in this AU is that Dukat dies during Indiscretion. Rip my boy, he probably deserved it but I love him anyway

Whew. Okay. Where do I begin...

Nightlight v2 takes place in a fun, wildly self indulgent (this information is important and informs everything I'm about to say) DS9 AU that amounts to "what if everything was okay actually, and also as a bonus I got to write Tora Ziyal instead?"

Nightlight v2 is essentially a oneshot inspired by me watching the first two ds9 mirror episodes and wondering "so what if, in this AU of mine, Kira and Ziyal get sucked into the mirror universe for an episode. and also mirror version of Ziyal's father (who, in this AU, Kira killed during the events of Indescretion before Dukat could reach and try to kill Ziyal. The episode is one of my favorites and I wouldn't change a thing in canon, but as an AU premise, it's a very fun one--and your idea, thank you autumn!) who sucks slightly less. Which I believe was actually inspired by this post:

Because like. That's interesting to ME at least. Watch Kira visibly short-circuit at the idea of a version of the fucker who's not completely evil as Ziyal loses her mind getting the good dad she deserved. There's a real possibility Tora Naprem is here too, I just need to work her in.

Yes I write in comic sans don't look at me. And yes my only goal here is to amuse myself. Still trying to figure out how to write all these characters accurately, so I imagine this'll take awhile and some edits to finish.

"Dead Men Walking" sounds interesting

Thank you! It's a Mass Effect 2 fanfiction I'd like to write. It refers to four main characters in different ways, though the most obvious is Commander Harriet Shepard--literally brought back to life after being dead for two years.

Here's a snippet from a WIP I've written within the larger fanfic!

The ride up the elevator to her cabin is agonizing. Slow as a slug crawling across sunny pavement, hoping for rain. Slow as paint drying, slow as nails growing. Like the nails that Harriet digs into her arm as she shifts in the elevator. Waiting to reach her cabin. No way in hell she's making this call anywhere else on the ship. Damnit, doesn't this thing go any faster?

Slowly, slowly, the elevator screen shows it's climb up to her cabin, until finally, finally, the door opens.

            Harriet immediately runs again, slamming into her cabin door. "Shit—" she hisses, clutching her shoulder as the automatic door slides opens at a snail's pace.

            Despite her hurry, Harriet dreads the last few steps to her private terminal. A giant pit opens in her stomach as she sits down at her desk. What do you even say? Hi, Mom! Sorry I died!
