Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship. Baizhu & Annie hc, héh.

Annie's true nature, as an otherworldly traveler from outside the borders of Teyvat, remains a mystery to Baizhu. Medicinal herbs, that he sneaks into her bag from time to time, seem to have the same soothing effects as on the usual patient and chances of giving her a full medical check-up are slim on their own, they hardly present themselves, but it is not as if Baizhu would prefer otherwise. It's a good thing, after all, that Annie doesn't require (or request) much of his attention; that means she's healthy and can safely continue her travels, no?

He has commissioned Annie to gather herbs for him. Violetgrass, specifically, which grows on the cliffsides of the high mountains of Liyue. He tends to wait for her at the foot of these mountains, looking up, along with Changsheng, payment in hand. It is precisely Changsheng who shares with Annie how worried Baizhu was. At this, Baizhu sighs. But he has nothing to hide, it's true…, he cares for her as much as for others. Hence the refreshing water, the special ointments for her skin and the bandages in his bag.

Some of what he bakes on a quiet day he has shared with Annie, in exchange for her honest opinion. As Qiqi hangs out with Yaoyao, in the vicinity of Qingce Village, and Gui sorts all kinds of dried flowers behind the reception counter. When the opportunity has presented itself, he has asked her to join him in the kitchen, to prepare something for another seasoned traveler (like herself).

Annie is a traveler, right, and a convenient source of ingredients from other nations. To find and manufacture affordable medicines for his patients, Baizhu knows he can turn to her. And in Liyue, the land of contracts, there is nothing more valuable than a reliable contact and a friend.
