CATIE WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME ten first chapters of fics I've recently posted.

So I got nominated by @catiecat1320 and now I must suffer. Sharing 10 latest first lines to fics (in my case chapters) that I've written.

10. 'It turns out that investigating your teachers murder is easier said than done.' Nicky thought to herself fuzzily.

Originally the first line of Good Luck, Babe! chapter 3, changed that a little but this is still the first line to me.

9. A bright lamp was pointed directly onto Nicky's face. Squinting she tried to pull away from the light but the guy holding it to her face followed her, giving her no reprieve.

Good Luck, Babe! chapter 2 opener and YES I am going backwards. On my ao3.

8. Nicky adjusted her glasses, taking another glance in the little mirror she'd hung in her locker in junior year, she couldn't help but huff as she adjusted her quills for the millionth time.

The start to Good Luck, Babe! most basic opener, but the lazy ones are the classics (lie)

7. And then everything went wrong.

From the last chapter of my big bang fic, Stone's Pocketlint Spells, you will need to read chapter 4 to understand what's going on.

6. It was a stormy night, the sun had gone down hours ago to harsh winds and beating rain.

Not that suspenseful, but I promy it funny or smt.

5. Stone wakes up and immediately knows that today is wrong.

Me when I wrote this: I should whammy people.

4. Stone woke up slowly, opening his eyes he was slightly confused as to why his entire room was dark until he remembered the day before.

I can promise you, this wasn't a hook-up.

3. Stone's never had much in life.

And we're at the beginning of Stone's Pocketlint Spells! What a reverse rollercoaster.

2. Blaze thought this was an idiotic idea at best and fun at worst.

Fire vs Speed was a short and fun thing to write, I don't exactly ship Sonic and Blaze but they got a fun dynamic imo and I get why people would ship them! Great taste Sonaze shippers (I wrote this for a friend!)

Maria still can't believe that Rouge managed to get them cruise tickets to Soleanna.

The name was based on something something someone sent me when I asked for a random title on discord, I promise they didn't know that they'd be naming my Blaze x Sonic fic 'Jar of Juice'. That friend being @d4nger-d4ze cus this was based on his black arms Maria AU!

little scrapped snippet from chapter 3 (I switched around the costumes)

Amy had actually dressed up as Sabeena Carpenter for last years Halloween, she still had the costume and in Nicky's mind it almost wasn't fair how good Shadow pulled it off. Her quills were tied back and her ears pinned using a bandana for her antenna's, the ends were heart shaped like the pop singer often styled them. The bee pattern was sewn onto a dress and the white shorts under them were laced. The only thing that Shadow still wore from her actual outfit were her shoes, socks and bows. The white ribbons replacing the belt that Amy had lost over the year.

Fun fact: Chapter 3 was actually supposed to be longer (by quite a bit now that I'm thinking about it) but I decided to change it up a little when I was in the middle of writing the last scene cus I thought bursting through a wall made for a better cliffhanger than the original one I thought of.

It's still gonna be there, but it'll be the first moments of Chapter 4 instead of Chapter 3's ending lol.

Dearly beloved, thank you for gathering here today. Today we mourn a great loss, our beloved AO3 has passed (gone down) and today we mourn that loss (cry into the ether) together.

It's been a wild ride (still not over, ao3 is coming back later) and one we would do well to remember. Like Tumblr, AO3's spouse and their 8 million children (users).

We all knew AO3 as a cornerstone of our community, their contributions will live one through us and what we carry forth. And now we sob into our pillows until AO3 comes back.
