Monthly reminder that making Alex bi, pan, polysexual, or omni is homophobic. Shipping Alex with girls is homophobic. Saying Alex is your husband is homophobic if you're a girl. Making Willie non-binary isn't homophobic but it is kinda missing the point. Alex is a gay male and will only date other guys (Also in an interview, it was confirmed that Willie is gay mlm so yeah)

Imagine Julie finding out and all but kicking their door down because Alex didn't deserve what they did to him. Alex shouldn't have to be constantly anxious because of them (It may not all be because of them but they can't be helping). Imagine Julie screeching the song in their faces while Alex duets and they can see him. They can see the hurt they caused. By the end of the song, they're both hoarse and they don't say anything else at that time. They storm out of the house and slam the door shut, and when they get back to the studio, they sit in silence until Alex breaks down sobbing because he knows it's a terrible thing to think but he hates them. He hates them and anything they stand for and more than anything, he hates himself for feeling how he does about his parents because he's been taught to believe that family is born and you're supposed to love them. Imagine Julie or someone else helping him learn that that's not necessarily true. Family is chosen and he knew it but what he didn't know was your chosen family doesn't have to include anyone who birthed you. His parents were bad people and don't deserve his love.

Bonus: Imagine Willie finding out and haunting the hell out of them, leaving Alex's name in mirrors, recently taken pictures, and bad omens around the house. He haunts their cars and their house and anywhere else he can find out they go. They're gonna regret hurting his hotdog and if Caleb finds out, he won't stop because at this point, he'll disappear for Alex. He'd do anything for Alex.

petition to let alex sing a painful, angry song about his parents, where he doesn’t forgive them or express regrets, he’s just rightfully mad and hurt and going ham on the drums and singing with his entire body because they just dropped him. he needed love and support and they abandoned him and turned him away like he was nothing. and he’s fucking furious. that is all.

Okay, so up until the end, JD is trying to manipulate Veronica. She knows that he doesn't have to trade his life for hers, they can both walk away from the bomb. This is also where the song switches from a reprise of Seventeen, a song where he promises to be better, to Our Love is God, a song where he kills two people for Veronica. He sees this as a sort of redemption because he thinks by blowing himself up, he'll get Veronica to say she loves him while also supposedly being a better person, though this isn't the case. In the end, he's just a manipulator who'll go to any lengths to prove his obsession to Veronica.

Shipping Alex with any girl is homophobic. He's gay. Mlm. Boyxboy. Into guys. However you wanna say it, Alex is a gay male. He will never, ever date a girl and wishing it on him is frankly, kind of gross. A lot of people say "Well people ship straight characters in gay relationships" but the thing is that straight people haven't been oppressed for nearly all of major history. They don't need the representation, they've had representation.

okay so with the increasing amount of willie antis i see on the daily, i figured it was time to make this post that i have been nonstop thinking about: the way willie is treated in comparison to luke

what i’m gonna say may be a hot take (although it shouldn’t be), but i’m highkey very over all of the willie hate!!! anyways, willie and luke are very similar characters. i feel like we’ve been knew, but they are not treated the same. what i love about willex and juke is that they mirror each other, willie and luke and julie and alex. because of this, willie and luke have a lot of similar traits!!! they both have their one passion in life (skateboarding and music), they’re both head over heels in love and they love hard, they would do ANYTHING for the ones they love, they live life on the edge a bit, they have a strained relationship with the “parental” figure in their life (lowkey we can’t really call caleb that, but for sake of comparison purposes i am), and they have both made mistakes.

willie antis like to get so mad about the stamp and think that willie knew, when willie had NO IDEA about the stamp. they blame him and use it as a reason to hate on him or not ship willex, but at the same time they defend the white boy for missing julie’s school dance when luke KNEW about that. a lot of people say that it was a time warp situation and the guys forgot, but it still doesn’t excuse the fact that they went to the hgc when they knew they had a gig later. these same people also get mad at julie for standing up to them when she had every right to, which is also not okay. if you’re going to defend the guys in that situation, then you can at least acknowledge that julie had a right to be mad. long story short, people blame willie for the stamp but do not blame luke for missing julie’s dance, then proceed to blame that on julie. willie and julie didn’t do anything wrong and the guys did, yet who gets blamed?

now you may say “well that doesn’t mean everyone that thinks that is racist” or “some people are willie antis and do not defend the guys for that” and maybe you’re right (although it looks a lot like racism to me). but then i offer you the question of what about the people who are willie antis and also get mad at flynn for wanting to egg julie’s house? or get mad and call julie a bad friend for lying to flynn? the people that want to recast madison so “juke can kiss” AND are willie antis? coming up with excuses to hate on 3 people of color who are complete angels among us and have done nothing wrong? that is racism.

TLDR; the willie hate needs to stop. the flynn hate needs to stop. the julie hate needs to stop. stop defending the white boys. i am tired.

"If you ship Lalex over Juke, you're racist" first of all, I'm poc, gay, and can't process heterosexuality.

Where they're right: A lot of people (Lookin at you jatp tik tok) ship Lalex over Juke/Willex because they are racist. They don't want the interracial couples to be together so they took the himbos (exclusively himbos) with the most chemistry and decided they'd be a couple. In addition, they like to demonize Willie and Julie saying Willie's evil, or Julie has no heart or whateverthefuck. Willie literally couldn't be manipulating Alex, he called Caleb on the stamps when Alex wasn't there. Julie isn't heartless, even when she didn't like the boys, she gave them a place to stay. And her Stand Tall monologue? Unsaid Emily wishes it could (Just my opinion and parental trauma). Honestly, jatp tik tok tends to look for any excuse to justify their overt racism and it's sickening.

Where they're wrong: I'll just say it, I project onto Alex Mercer a lot. That's fine, I'm okay with it (Although I see a lot of myself in all the characters, Alex is the lucky winner). Willie and Luke are both my type. I ship them in equal amounts with Alex (polyamory gang, rise up) so I'd be fine if he ended up with either of them. For some reason, I can see Juke objectively as a good couple but I'm not really feeling it (I do this with a lot of straight couples). I hope Luke and Julie end up together, they make one another happy. That being said, I just ship Lalex more. Not a race thing, just a "comfort character + my type" thing.

Anyway all this to say that people who ship Lalex over Juke aren't inheritly racist, so just kinda be careful when using that word.

Alright, so here, JD is using a common manipulation tactic so Veronica will stay with him. He’s going, “I should kill you like I planned, but I’m nice enough that I won’t, and instead I’ll blow up the school.” The three “buts” show how rushed he is, like how you stutter and can’t put words together if you try to talk too fast. All of JD’s songs get faster or start fast depending on where his mental stability is and where it may go. In Freeze Your Brain, as the song starts to devolve, the lyrics get more gruesome and the song speeds up until he centers himself with the slushie and the song slows down again. Dead Girl Walking isn’t his song, but it shows how he already has that control over Veronica, to the point that his style can bleed into hers, and hinting at his future manipulation. “Me Inside of Me” and “Our Love is God” are both slow while he sings because at this point, he’s cool and calculating, though definitely not stable. Everything is planned and he knows how it’s going to play out. The fastest part in “Our Love is God” is when Kurt runs, because his plan fell apart for just a second, seeing as he expected Veronica to take a fatal shot. Seventeen displays Veronica’s ability to affect his music too because though he’s not stable at all at this point, he still slows down, only when singing with Veronica, all of it leading up to this song, when she breaks up with him, and he breaks into her house with the intention to kill her.
