In all fairness, he seemingly had problems with most places in town due to his resentment at being back there in the first place. "I don't know, but if anyone ever wants to make one, they should film it here. Then at least something good could come out of this town for a change."

"Is it just me, or does this place feel kind of haunted in the off season?" Halen murmured. He wasn't really sure if they were even supposed to be in the park, but in his defense, nothing was locked (he was pretty sure anyway). "Is there horror movies in amusement parks? Zombieland doesn't count."

At first, Isaiah wondered if she was asking because she thought he worked there, but then he realized that she was probably just asking because he was the nearest person. "What, is it that obvious that I work at a bar? Guess I'll just hafta start moonlightin' at all of 'em if people are gonna ask me for recommendations. But sure, ok. I prefer gin myself, but you can't go wrong with a Jack and Coke either."

"I don't usually drink" Tommie admitted as she stood at the bar. If anything it was usually just some wine here and there at home. "What do you recommend?"

At the sound of Axel's voice, Rance glanced up from the tools he had been sorting through and gave an exaggerated sigh. "Ah, jus' in time! Wasn't sure how I was gonna go on wit'out some coffee. Thanks much." As he headed over to grab the coffee, he asked, "An' how're you doin' on this fine mornin'?"

he was fortunate to have a good set of mechanics working in the garage with him, and it did help that they knew one anothers dynamics. since he was the owner, it was only fair that he would do the coffee runs in the morning and bring in snacks for all the staff "morning rance, your coffee is on the kitchen counter and the kitchens been restocked"

Even though Etienne was not expecting a warm welcome from Helena, that was decidedly more vehement than he thought she would be. Maybe he should have thought twice about approaching her, but then, when did he ever really use caution? If anything, her having given him such a harsh reception only made him want to push on with interacting even more.

"Well zut, dat's hardly de reception t' give an ol' friend, is it?" he remarked, seating himself down across from her, "I jus' wanted t' stop by an' say hi. Why you assumin' I got an ulterior motive?

She'd spotted him across the street as she watched the world pass by the window seat she'd settled in. Laptop out in front of her, her latest chapters half written and in need of inspiration, she'd foolishly let her gaze linger a little. Before long Helena was lost in her own thoughts, no longer really watching out of the window or aware of the world around her. She was deep within her creation, mind whirling through possibility as her fingers casually traced the outline of the keys on the keyboard.

A familiar voice reached her ears and Helena jumped, reaching out to slam her laptop shut so he couldn't read the words on the page. "What do you want?" She snapped viciously. Looking up only to glare at Etienne before she turned back and reached for her tea.

Background:

Isaiah was born in Baltimore, and grew up on the rough and tumble streets. His father left when he was very young, leaving his mother to raise him alone. She tried her hardest to raise him well, and while Isaiah loved her and cared for her as much as she did for him, he still ended up joining a street gang.

His mother did not like his being in a gang, but Isaiah felt it was the only way he could make something of himself. Then one day, one of his fellow gang members came to him in need of help. He had killed someone during a botched robbery, and needed a place to hide. Isaiah helped him out, but it was not until later after the other man was gone that he found out the truth: his own mother had been the one killed in the robbery attempt.

Isaiah was devastated, and blamed himself for letting the murderer go, but at the same time, he also vowed revenge, and did not stop until he managed to track the man down. Once he was dead, Isaiah had to escape, lest he be caught and tried for murder. So he went on the run, and tried to head somewhere he thought would be a safe hideout. Greenview seemed as good a place as any, and so he came to town.

Background:

Cyrus was born and raised in Greenview, but always felt the small town life was not for him. He had big dreams of getting out of town and heading to a big city. His parents wanted to support their son, but they did not want him to go so far, and tried to persuade him to stay any way they could. But he just could not see himself being a small town boy forever, and so after high school, he finally left, with no word to his parents beyond a note.

He should have felt bad for leaving in such a way, but Cyrus was much too excited to finally be able to live his dreams. He headed south and eventually ended up in Miami. Immediately he was swept up by the glamor of the city, and while it took a while for him to get his footing, he finally did. He worked a series of odd jobs for years, never really finding anything that stuck. But then eventually he came upon the world of professional video gaming. Having always been an avid video gamer, he set out to make a name for himself, streaming games and creating a decent online presence. During this time, he also met a man who came from a rich family, and despite their differing background, the two of them became fast, inseparable friends.

But this friendship was threatened when Cyrus began to have an affair with his best friend's wife. When their affair eventually came to light, instead of owning up to his mistake, he left Miami, and though he was not keen on the idea of going home to Greenview, he felt it was safer for him to head somewhere that he could keep a low profile, and thus he returned.

Background:

Etienne was born in New Orleans and had a happy childhood with his parents, until they were sadly killed in a car crash when he was seven. Afterwards, an older uncle took him in and raised him, and both he and Etienne became very attached to each other. His uncle loved to cook and he taught him all the tricks of the trade, hoping he might go on to become a chef one day. Etienne liked that idea, and had every intention of doing so--until his uncle too sadly passed away.

The older man had had little money, leaving Etienne with hardly anything, thus making it nearly impossible for him to make his dream of becoming a chef come true. But his uncle had also taught him how to play cards, and being as he was rather good at that, he decided to see just how much he could parlay that into making some money. After some trial and error, Etienne became adept not only at playing cards well but also at cheating. He won plenty of money, and while he should have taken that money and used it towards chef school, he found he was getting much too caught up in the rush of seeing just how much he could get away with.

He did get away with it for a good while, but eventually the casinos began to catch on. And once Etienne started to get banned from too many casinos, he turned to thievery, which he ended up being equally good at. Thus he commenced a spree of both small and large heists all over the world. But after a heist gone wrong, he narrowly avoided being caught and was forced to go into hiding. Etienne knew he could not go back to New Orleans since he assumed that would be the first place law enforcement would check, so he decided to head for Greenview, thinking it's the last place law enforcement will look for him.

Background:

Rance is from a family of several generations of farmers in Virginia. Despite this, he did not want to be a farmer. Rather, his dream was to be a bronco rider in a rodeo. His father did not take too kindly when Rance finally told him this, which lead to a row, which led to Rance leaving home.

He headed west and eventually made it into a rodeo, becoming one of the best bronco riders in the company. But tragedy struck when Rance was injured after a particularly hard fall from a horse. Despite his best efforts to literally get back in the saddle, his knee was wrecked and the owner of the rodeo told Rance he could not compete anymore.

Already reeling from the injury, Rance did not take kindly to this news, and he got into a fight with the owner, then stole one of the rodeo's prize stallions and left. After such an awful end to his life's dream, he couldn't bear to return home and face his family, so he searched for a new place to live, and ended up in Greenview.
