Something I’ll note is that the gifted usually have something off about their soul. Pearl’s is more luminous compared to a normal one, shining like a star. I’ve also seen the soul damaged from the incidents that cause them, Will had a hole in his…. Louis wasn’t fully gilded soul wise but still he’s the reason. I’m not mad at them though, they didn’t ask for it. ~ Lys

Greetings dear fellows! Welcome to the network of Eden, I am the star child Lys and here is where I’ll guide you to the lives of the knights!

This is the Giftedverse blog, and I need to set some ground rules before we begin. For one: I will need ygs to respect my boundaries (main is @phantoms-domain) and especially this is a non sexual blog for the stranger parts of the world. If you do not like vore, slimes, transformation stuff (including TGTF), possession, or hypnosis: this is not the blog for you.

What is "cozy fantasy"? 🧺🪵

Cozy fantasy is a subgenre that is characterized by a more everyday approach to fantasy.

While its definition is not as clear-cut (everyone will have a sightly different idea of what it needs to look like), there are some general approaches to writing in this subgenre.

Elements of Cozy Fantasy 🕯️ೀ

A comforting, healing ambience 🍪

Rather than bloody battle and cunning witches, we have our next door wizard baker chumming up his special pumpkin pie.

Every magical book at their deepest core evoke a healing quality, but for these cozy novels, this warm element takes control.

2. "Kindness” and ‘gentleness” tropes 🍂

Found family/community, a sense of togetherness

Kind hearted protangoists

Plots gull of joy, hope or happy endings. Give your readers reassurance that everything will work out. And they do.

Ambience woven in the worldbuilding that gets the reader intitamely close to the world

Slower pace, allow the reader to delve into the story world and build stake in these kind, loving characters.

Slice of life: provide personal insight into the character’s “mundane” lives. 

The plot must take this "happy" nad kind" element as the MAIN theme. Every book provides catharsis at the end, but if the process if filled with dark, dangerous adventures, that's not cozy at all!

3. Cozy doesn’t mean “no/low stake” 📖

No novel would be interesting without conflict and some kind of loss.

Think of “personal” stakes. Cozy fantasy can be grand adventures, quiet magical quests, fairytales or healing slice of life stories.

For example, the protagonist can develop new relationship around town and figure out her passion to express the theme of importance of enduring. 

4. Generally slower pace, focusing more on the inner development of the protagonist and the main side characters.

Okay I am asking tumblr for a couple of things. Both within an AU and an Original story context. Mostly because I do not want to mess up a character.

For OC stuff

What advice would you give for someone writing in a modern setting

Any advice you’d give for writing college students with superpowers

Advice for dialogue in regards to making characters distinct

Writing boys (as a demi girl)

Writing mix background character(s)

What’s the best place to begin when creating a magic system

What is the best place to start for advanced technology

Should I write within my hometown or create a new setting (for the story)?

This is generally what I need for this section, now for the other end

For AU stuff (specifically GID)

I don’t want to screw up writing any of the characters so this is specific to keeping the characters (especially the main duo) accurate (note series belongs to @peachnewt)

An extra note is: Should I have Watch within the same city as the Arcana Knights if I do decide to use an alternate city.

Any advice to making sure these sillies stay in character especially in dialogue because I suck at it.

design notes:

- will likes to wear character tees and fun designs underneath his watch uniform. he finds it as a way of expressing himself! he also rolls up his sleeves on his watch jacket so he doesn't get the sleeves dirty while taking out recycling and also just, because it Feels Good to have his arms free

- louis tucks his pants into steel toes work boots, just to be prepared in case he has to run or get involved with field work on a whim. he is also wearing the silver glasses Will gave him 90% of the time unless he's worried about breaking them or if he needs to use his contacts. they are....comfort items

GID Fandom

I support all ya’ll freedom to do transformative works. I welcome anyone to play in the sandbox of the GID fandom (there is a fandom of gid holy sheet).  

I want you to be free to do whatever transformative works you like: body-swap, gender-swap, transgender, race change, cultural change, species exploration, hair-cut (Will: WHAT?), sexuality, mentality, physicality, whatever themes or situations you want to explore, you have the freedom to build any kind of structure in the sandbox.  

People might have full on balconies and turrets on their sand castles, respect that.  Some might build a cozy underground bunker like a hobbit home, that’s cool too.  We all have our own sandcastles, and are free to build what we wish.   Just be aware that my sandcastle is gonna have a moat, cause I like moats.

If you don’t like another person’s sandcastle (fanart, fanfiction, headcannon) keep it to yourself. It is NOT your job as a fan to defend the cannon of characters. That’s not the point of fandom. The point is to enjoy the work and play with it.
