“Wow so like… almost all of you voted. I had to take some time to totally count them all out. Only two people didn’t vote I think, that’s a better turnout than like most elections I think, yay! Anyway…” The headmaster pouts on the screen, “l You guys are all a bunch of hecking squares! Well like, most of you. Anyway! You mostly voted for a time extension which is… boring~🎵! But while I can’t wait to fill you guys totally with despair, I’m not a dictator or a tyrant, we had a vote and I will abide by that! You guys can get… seven more days, that’s a week! And also a prime number still! Don’t need to worry about that! Anyway I think that’s like… all I had to say? If any of you guys had any questions though, like come talk to me okay? I’m lonely…”

Now, I think it’s like… totes understandable that I’m not happy with this. So I’ve decided that in… hm let’s say, three days? First period, mathematics

“This is the hall attendant speaking.” A glitching voice came from the speakers, too low to be a woman and yet too high to be a man. An image of a person wearing a collar and chain flickered on the screen, holding a microphone, expression emotionless. The speakers crackled insistently. “Good evening students, are you all adequately settled? Class is in session, so please put aside all distractions and focus. The headmistress will be delivering a special lesson at the beginning of each class, then you will have 2 weeks for assignments and homework.”

The screen flickered again and you could faintly make out the outline of a person in a black suit pushed to the side of the screen. You could barely make out what they were saying in bits and pieces. “Headmi-? Shouldn- be- … students- waiti-”

Before you could hear anything else, the screen turned off. Silence filled the air for a couple of minutes, before the screen turned back on.

The familiar face of the headmaster popped onto screen, as if nothing happened, though somewhat rustled for some odd reason. She closed her eyes before announcing a rather unsettling message, “Four by four, one has been erased to date, yet not to trust the eight. Nine is no longer, yet seven shan’t be the cause of such sleight.”

A sadistic smile washed over the headmaster, as she waved off the cameras… leaving you all alone with your thoughts and how to proceed with this message.

—Heart of the Maze

The heart of the maze is dense with flowers that cover the greenery, perhaps you can identify them by taking a closer look? A bronze fountain sits in the middle of the clearing, a poorly sculpted naked baby spouting cloudy water from its mouth, leaking from its arm. A book sits on one of the benches lining the fountain’s perimeter. A person, unconscious, remains lying on the ground, black hair shrouding their body.
