To Love and Trust - END!!!!

After basically being MIA at this point, and being thankful past me decided to upload everything to a draft on Tumblr, I decided to go on ahead and post the rest of my smau. It was definitely fun writing it, and maybe I'll come back to Genshin sometime soon.

But right now my fascination is with the original Bakugan show. So maybe I'll write something about that.

Y/n and Kazuha

You and Kazuha currently are not married, though are still engaged, frustrating your family and friends

Kazuha ended up getting a signing with a large music company right before he graduated college

He's super busy so right now is not the best time for you two to get married

Currently, as of right now, he is on tour, his second album having just come out

You do all the graphic design work for him and some of the other artists in the music company

The music company hired you after seeing your work for the university

You often go with him on tours, either making sure everything goes as planned, or singing for a couple of his songs

You constantly appear in his songs, as either the inspiration or as vocals.

For both of his albums so far, you two have sung a duo together. 

You read the vows for both weddings involving your cousins and brothers.

You decided to do this since you really couldn't be a part of both the groom's AND the bride's party

You danced with both Scara and Xiao for the “mother-son dance” since you were their sister

You and Kazuha of course sang the first dance songs at both parties for the newlyweds

Aether and Xiao 

Was the first couple to get married right out of college

Xiao ended up going back to his high school to be the athletic trainer, though soon he found himself helping out with the track team a lot

He ended up becoming an assistant coach on the track team

Aether ended up having his picture taken at the concert, and soon he got contacted to model a clothing line

He was hesitant at first, but now enjoys what he does

Instead of the “father-daughter dance”, he ended up dancing with Lumine, followed by you

Any chance he gets, he goes with Xiao to whatever track meet to root the team on

You know better, it's just to watch his hot husband coach lmao

Scara and Lumine

Lumine ended up graduating top of the School of Social Work Class, and immediately going into her masters

Works with kids with a history of family trauma

She and Scara recently got married, right after she graduated with her master's.

She wants to spend a little bit out in the field before going back for her Doctorate in Social Work

Scara ended up taking over a portion of his Mothers' business

Scara and her are still in a rocky relationship, luckily he has Lumine to help find ways of working things out. 

His portion of the company here recently has talked about splitting off and becoming its own smaller company

Childe and Yumiya

Was the second group to get married

You were a bridesmaid

Childe and Yoimiya ended up getting jobs at the same school Xiao went to

Yoimiya is a preschool teacher

Childe is also an athletic trainer

Currently, baby number one is on the way

Childe tries to say that Scara’s going to be the uncle, but you all laugh at how Scara still can't deal with his antics

Hu Tao Yanfei

Hu Tao graduates with her degree and opens her own funeral home

Yanfei ends up working for the same law firm that Zhongli works at

They are in the process of planning everything for their wedding, and it is in the next couple of months

Albedo and Kaeya 

Albedo gets his biochem degree, though he ended doing painting full time

You constantly commission him for painting to put on artists' album covers

Kaeya ends up helping his brother Diluc with marketing

3.13 Christmas PT 2

Written Part Under Cut

You all had managed to make it to your grandma's a week before Christmas, with the plan being to stay until at least after new years. Your grandmother lives in a small town, making 1,000 people or so, much more of a tourist destination and vacation spot during the summer with the nearby lakes being the main focal point. You remember when you moved here during high school, it was quite a lovely small town, the couple's family-owned restaurants, and diners being some of your favorite places to visit. Your grandmother owns the hotel in town, and it was currently in the slow season due to it being winter, not a lot of tourists came during the winter. 

Which was a good thing, since she would be having the 6 of you for the next couple of weeks, she was going to have a handful. 

She lives about 5 minutes outside of town, back in a wooded area. The house she lived in was quite big, with about 6 bedrooms, it was a boarding house back in the day. She usually hosts a few kids to work in the town for the summer so kids that needed help could earn some income while living in a safe place. A lot of times, the kids would work at the hotel and she would shuttle them to and from the house, which honestly was a great thing. Your grandma only had you, having lost your grandfather before you were born. From what she always told you, it was his dream for the two of them to run a bed and breakfast. Your father was MIA still, and you don't know if she counted him as her son after all this time.

You guys arrived around 1:30 in the afternoon, pulling up the long drive to her house. You guys took your SUV and Scaras car, as you guys had to pack for almost a month of staying there. You were giddy with excitement. You were barely able to see her last year, having to cram to graduate early, and with immediately getting a job at the university, you didn't get the chance to see her in a while. As soon as you parked your car, you jumped out of the car and ran to the door, her having been waiting and seeing you guys drive up the driveway. As she saw you running up, she threw her arms open, saying, “Oh, there's my little girl!!!!” You had tackled her into a hug, you two swaying back and forth, happily. You two didn't break for a few minutes, trying to soak each other in. 

You hear some laughter behind you, which finally made you pull away, turning and looking at everyone else who were still getting out of the cars. Your two cousins were next to hug her, her hugging them individually with as big of hugs, happy to see them. You had run back to the car as Kazuha and Xiao were pulling out your bags from the trunk, trying to help before being body blocked by your boyfriend, a smirk on his face. You simply sulked as you knew he wasn't going to let you help him with the bags, so you managed to get into the backseat and grab your backpack which had your laptop in it and other essentials that wouldn't fit into your luggage. 

You all had eventually made it inside, your grandmother going upstairs and showing each couple their respective rooms so the men could put the bags in to get out of the winter coats. At this point, you had thrown your coat and backpack in your old room, before running into the living room, hearing the meows of your two cats, who were excited for you to be home. No sooner did you sit on the couch did the two jump up onto you and rub against you, purring crazily. Lumine and Aether had come downstairs to see you petting your cats, squealing with joy at how cute the two of them were. They had managed to slowly sit on both sides of you to pet them, the cats loving the extra attention. Eventually, the men came downstairs, Xiao and Scara going straight to your grandma to get their “hello” hugs out of the way. You hear her asking them how they were doing, here Kazuha finally comes down the steps. You leaned back to look at him, causing Sweet Pea, the older of the two cats, to put her paws on your chest and try and sniff your face. 

This causes laughter out of the 4 of you, Kazuha leaning down and kissing you before petting Sweet Pea, her purring like crazy and practically climbing you to lean into his hand. All you could do was simply laugh. Eventually, everyone joined you in the living room, your grandma having hugged Kazuha tightly, and him finally introducing himself in person. Everyone was sitting next to their significant other, your two cats sitting in your lap before your grandma speaks.

“So kiddos, what are the plans for the next couple of weeks? You know this old woman hasn’t had this many people in the house since the summer!!” She was sitting on her old recliner, one that your grandfather had gotten her because it was her favorite style. Now that you think about it, their relationship and yours were exactly alike. You simply shrugged, “I’m down for whatever. I know the winter festival is happening next week, so I figured we should go and look at it so that the people who have never seen it can enjoy it.” She nods, “Oh yeah, it's always amazing each year, I know a couple of the diners are also holding specials, and I know Y/n going to have to go at least twice to each just so she can get her to fill.” You all laughed at her before you all talked about what could be in store for the next couple of weeks. 

Your grandma did need help with getting some firewood chopped up and inside, and before you knew it, everyone was doing something to help around the house. Your cats wouldn't leave your side, practically becoming your shadow. Over the next day, everyone had something they wanted to do to help their grandma, which she greatly appreciated. You had looked outside to see Xiao and Kazuha chopping and stacking firewood. You heard Scara in one of the other rooms helping your grandma with some of the lights that had gone out, and she in her old age, couldn't get to those in particular as she couldn't get up and down the ladder that well. You knew that the twins were currently up in the attic organizing some boxes, trying to find the Christmas decorations. That just left you trying to figure out what you were going to make for breakfast over the next couple of weeks. Making breakfast was your specialty, and you wanted to make sure that it was good for everyone. 

After making a list of food that you would need, you started to walk to where your grandma currently was, before stopping and looking at the wall full of photographs. A good ¼ of them were of your grandparents, smiling throughout the years together. One of the biggest ones of their wedding day, to which you smiled at them being so happy. The rest, surprisingly, was of either just you, you, and her, and here recently, newer photos of you 6. You had actually sent her the couple's photo that you took on your porch, the 3 couples standing next to each other, in each other's arms. You smiled fondly that night, before getting startled at your grandmother coming up to you. 

“So many memories, so many good times. To think that in all these years, a life like yours has grown into something so amazing. Makes me happy that all the pain that you went through when you were younger is worth it, I guess.” You look at her, tears welling up in both of your eyes before hugging her. 

The days flew by leading up to Christmas and new years were a blur. Joy and happiness truly were in the air. You all managed to go to the winter festival, enjoying your time there. You were getting so many pictures, simply enjoying the time you had got with all of them. Kazuha barely left your side, enjoying the happy gleam and glow that you had. You were as happy as the concert day, if not happier.  Christmas day had rolled around, and everyone had gotten gifts from everyone. Scara got Lumine a necklace, and Lumine got Scara a flamenco hat. You laughed at it, you remember when he used to wear one religiously, guess he was going to get back into the habit. Xiao had gotten Aether matching bracelets to wear, it was one of those 10+ feet of rope in a bracelet. Aether had managed to get a photo album of him and his siblings together, with help from his Uncle Zhongli. Xiao thumbed through it, simply stunned. You gave Aether a big old thumbs up at his gift. You had gotten a voucher at a local tattoo parlor, and you wanted to get matching tattoos with your two brothers and a different matching tattoo with your cousins. Kazuha had gotten your tickets to a Neoni concert, and you had practically tackled him off the couch, having wanted to go to one. Everyone else was giving out their gifts, before your grandma smiled at you, taking your attention away. She had sat down next to you on the couch, an old photo album in hand. “It seems I wasn't the only one who thought that someone could use memories of people long past.” 

As you opened it, you realized it was a photo album of you and your mother beforehand. It was all of your baby photos, along with a good amount of photos of either you and her or the both of you together. As you got to the end, you were tearing up, before the last photo had gotten you caught off guard. The day before your mother had suddenly passed, you and she had gone to the local park, your grandma having gone with you all. It was the only picture she took that day, but it would be one you treasured forever. You were in her arms laughing, and matching the look on your mother's face. You looked more like your grandmother, but at that moment, you were spitting images of you and your mother. You didn't have many memories of her, but the ones you did were always good. You always wonder what she would think of you at this point.

Christmas break continued to go by quickly, and before you knew it, it was New Year's Eve. Everyone was gathered around the tv in the living room, simply talking and enjoying each other's company while waiting for midnight. You smiled at the fact that both Uncle Zhoingli AND Aunt Buer had managed to come to Grandma's, surprising your respective brothers. You had forgotten something in the room you and Kazuha were sleeping in, so you quickly scrambled upstairs to go get it. It was actually Kazuha's gift, so you secretly hoped that he would follow you. 

As if on cue, you were looking around in your luggage, when you heard him come into the room. “Dove, you need help finding whatever you're looking for?” He asks, coming over to stand behind you. You found it before standing up and turning to look at him, shaking your head. “Nope! Just found it now, close your eyes.” You said excitedly, keeping said surprise behind your back. He quirked an eyebrow at you, smirking, before holding out his hands and closing his eyes. You quickly maneuvered his hands, putting a ring on his ring finger. As you slid it onto his finger, you didn't see him looking at you with wide eyes. As soon as it was all the way on, you looked up at him happily for him to inspect it. It was a simple silver band with your initials on it, followed by the words “my muse.” You had held up your hand to show that you had one the exact same as his initials, only it said “my song”. He continued to look between both rings, before looking you straight in the eyes.

“When did you get these?” He asks, tears edging to well up in his eyes. You bite your lip before replying. “Well, over the last week, grandma had found these stored in the attic. They were my mom's and dad's respectively, and she wanted me to have them. I felt like it was good enough time for me to give them to you. I guess this is just a physical showing of my promise to you, that I'll always love you.” You wrapped your arms around his waist, him returning the embrace, before continuing. “You know, I find it funny how my parents and grandparents seemed to have a similar relationship to us. I guess we really are products of our environment.” 

You stood there for a few moments before he let out a light airy chuckle. You looked at him confused before he simply shook his head. “Well, I was going to wait to do this, but it seems everyone has had the same idea these last couple of days.” you continued to look at him questionably, not quite getting what he was saying, He pulled away from your arms, before swiftly taking something out his pocket, opening it, dropping to one knee and grabbing your hand to look you straight in the eyes.

OH, that was what he meant.

Well, guess you were gonna ugly cry here in a minute. 

“My dove,” Kazuha starts, eyes never breaking contact, “You have made me the happiest man of my life. I know we still have quite a long road ahead of us, but I couldn't imagine anyone else by my side. I love you soo much.” Tears are beginning to flow down your face, though the smile on your face would show how happy you really were. He continued, and you realize he was reciting a poem from memory.

When I met you,

I met my destiny.

My one true love,

You’ll always be.

If you feel the same,

And I truly hope you do,

There’s something very important,

That I want to ask of you.

Instead of “you” and “I,”

Let’s become “we.”

I’m asking you to share my life,

Will you marry me?

At the end of the poem, he holds the ring closer to you, a hopeful but scared look in his eyes. You simply nodded your head, yes, not knowing why you would say otherwise. He smiled before putting the ring on your finger, it now on it with your mother's. In one fell swoop, he picked you up into his arms, your feet coming off the ground. You wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him, before hearing cheering coming from your door. You both pulled away to look, seeing your cousins and your brothers standing in the doorway. Lumine was taking pictures, and Aether took the video of your proposal, smiles on everyone's faces, though you could have sworn Xiao’s and Scara’s were the biggest. All you could do was simply shake your head at them, before turning to kiss Kazuha again. 

You were definitely going to have to thank Venti for the party.

Oh, and Diluc for the paper and pen.

3.12 Please Don't

Written part below

Kazuha couldn't keep his hands off of you as you two made your way back to your friend group in the pit. You two were smiling, laughing, kissing, quick little pecks whenever you two had to stop for a moment. You guys eventually got down there, when you got jumped on by the friend group. Your cousins were the first ones to get to you, them screaming happily in your ear. You had both of your arms wrapped around them, laughing at them. Kazuha still had a hand on his back and the bag of your clothes in his other hand. You were still in your performance outfit, deciding that you were going to be too lazy to change out of it. 

“OMG Y/N, YOU WERE AMAZING!!!!!!!” Both of your cousins screamed in unison, pulling away at the same time. You laughed, before everyone else descended on you, talking about how amazing your and Kazuha's performance was. You eventually made your way through everyone, before you finally went to the last two. Xiao and Scara, your two unbiological brothers, stood there for a moment just looking at you. They both had proud, yet somber looks on their faces. You smiled, starting to tear up, before opening your arms wide, saying “You two better get over here before I start bawling my eyes out.” They laugh, before they come to you, you three forming a big group hug. 

You three had been through everything together. Puberty, high school, family deaths, horrible people, shitty family members. You three had an unbreakable bond that no one else could exactly describe. You were family, and nothing was going to change that. You pulled away from them, to look each of them in the eyes, before letting a tear fall. “I love you two, you are the best brothers I could ever ask for. I’m so happy to have you guys in my life, and I know that the future looks so much brighter for the 3 of us.” They both nod, tears threatening to fall before Scara speaks up. “We love you too. You're stuck with us whether you like it or not. Even if we may part in person, you know we're only one call away.”  Xiao nods, a few tears falling down his face, “He's right, you're never getting rid of us. You always have us, whether you're happy, sad, or mad, we'll always have your back, like you have ours. We love you, Y/n” 

At this point, tears wear streaming out of your eyes, and you laugh before saying, “When the fuck did you two become emotional? Man, hearing you guys say that is making me cry more!” The three of you still had your arms around each other, tears streaming down your faces. It was a sight one would almost bank never on seeing again. You felt Xiao put his hand on the back of your head, pulling you in to kiss your forehead. You laughed, not expecting it, before having your head pulled by Scara, receiving a kiss there as well. You three finally separated, the two boys trying to wipe away the tears in their eyes. 

You turn to Kazuha, trying to wipe away your own tears. He was looking at you, a small smile on his face, before wrapping his arms around you. You buried your head into his chest, taking a moment to recollect yourself. You hear him murmur in your ear, “You did so amazing today dove, I’m so proud of you. You made me feel like the happiest man in the world up there.” You pull away, still in his arms nodding. “You're the one who wanted me to sing and gave me the confidence and support I needed to do so. You made me the happiest person ever, both on and off the stage. Thank you Kazuha, I love you. So much.” you looked at him straight in his eyes, rubies eyes that seem to hold the world in his hand. Eyes that showed the soul of someone who would love you for the rest of your life. “I love you too, my dove,” Kazuha replies. You two slowly brought your faces together in a kiss, not breaking away for a few moments. You hear someone wolf whistling from behind you, causing you to take one of your hands to flip your group of friends that were behind you. You break away once they all start laughing and look toward them. 

You simply smiled.

As you walk out of the venue, you and Kazuha were walking behind everyone, you take note of a few things. One, Childe and Yoimiya were walking shoulder to shoulder, practically bumping into each other with every step. You could see that they were talking to each other lost in their own world. The same goes for Yanfei and Hu Tao, but they were already in a relationship, so you didn't pay them much mind. Even Albedo and Kaeya seemed to have gotten closer, them both holding hands and simply walking together. That's when your eyes landed on the last two sets of couples.

Scara and Lumine were walking hand in hand, then talking to each other. You kept seeing Scara constantly looking at Lumine, a look of adoration on his face. When Lumine's feet started hurting from the shoes she wore, he without even asking, gave her a piggyback ride the rest of the way to the cars. This caused you to laugh at the two of them.

Xiao and Aether were glued at the hip, teal harried man arms over Aether's shoulder, both of them looking at each other constantly, looks of love between the two, you swore a couple times they both would whisper something into the other's ear, causing a blush to form and grow every time. 

Finally, you looked at the man you were holding hands with, his eyes staring straight at you, nothing but love in them. You looked back at him the same, and you swore you saw a slight blush on his cheeks. “What's up?” You ask him. He shook his head, before leaning over to you and whispering in your ear, “If it wasn't for the fact that the 4 of them were staying over tonight, I would be making you feel even more amazing.” his tone dropped as he said that, and you were bright cherry red, shaking your head at the man, causing you to laugh in embarrassment. You smacked him on the shoulder, looking away trying to get your face to calm down. 

You all got to your separate cars before saying goodbye for the night, Childe driving everyone else to their respective homes for the night. As you were going through the goodbyes, you hugged Yoimiya, and as you were about to pull away, she whispered in your ear, “I’m going to be staying the night at Ajax’s, house wish me luck!” You pulled away from her wide eyes, and at her knowing look, started laughing your ass off. Everyone looked at you confused, and you simply shake your head. You see, Yoimiya was the first one and only one who found out what you and Kazuha did after the pasta place, and it was a little quip between the two of you. As she began to walk away, you smacked her in the ass and pumped your hand in the air, causing her to blush at you. You laughed even louder as you got in your SUV, Kazuha in the driver's seat. 

You all managed to get back safely to your place, you all tumbling out of the car, laughing and talking about the night. You had taken your shoes off and walked across the lawn barefoot, Lumine having done the same. As you all got into the house, you yawned. You hear a laugh from behind you, before hearing Scara say, “What, are you tired?” You roll your eyes at him, turning around to look at everyone except Kazuha. “Yes I am, thank you very much, the lights while onstage felt like my energy was being drained.” You see Lumine and Aether nod, agreeing on you being tired, then going to the couch to sit on it, her taking one side, and him taking the other. You see Xiao carrying in his and Scaras bag, handing the latter to the said man. You begin to walk up the stairs behind Kazuha calling out, “I'm making french toast in the morning, so don’t try to run off as soon as you all wake up!” You hear the other 4 laugh before they all call out good night. Before going a couple more steps, you made sure everyone had enough blankets and pillows, knowing that the respective couple was going to have to share a side of the couch. After making sure everyone was set, you managed to make your way to your room, seeing Kazuha already undressing to get into his pj’s, you closed the door behind you, leaning against it and closing your eyes. 

You think back on the last couple of months, reminiscing about everything that has gotten to you at this point. You stand there for a few moments, before feeling a pair of lips on your forehead. “What are you thinking about my dove?” you what Kazuha asks, arms going around your waist. You don't open your eyes, deciding to instead bury your head into his chest, which you realized he hadn't put a shirt on yet. You were glad, feeling his warm body against yours, before pulling back to finally answer him. “I'm just thinking back on these last couple of months, not realizing how time has flown by. It just seems like yesterday when I met you at Venti’s party.” He nods, understanding what you mean by it. His lips in a small smile at you, and you reciprocate it before you decide to say this next part.

Cupping his face in your hands you look deep into his eyes, saying, “I love you Kazuha, I love you so much. Thank you, as well, for loving me and making me a better person. I don’t think I could ever live without you. You make me feel so whole inside in a way I never knew I needed. You really are my better half.” By the end of that, happy tears were streaming down your face, before you said one final thing to him. “Please don't ever break the promise we have between each other.”

You watch as his eyes fill with tears, shaking his head at you before replying back. “I never will, my muse. You are the light to my shadow, the melody to my song, and the lyrics of my heart. You have made me a better person than before, and it's all thanks to your selflessness and that big heart of yours. For as long as I live, I will always treasure and love you.” He kissed you passionately after his declaration of love, you two not breaking for a while. When you two did, you saw that he had something else to say, so you waited for him to speak. He pulled away from you, to walk over to his nightstand to pull out a notebook. He opened it to a bookmarked page, before reading what was on it. You knew that book was where Kazuha liked to write his poems down, and you also knew you were probably one step away from crying again.

And before you knew it, you were right on the crying part.

If only this poetry could define,

how your presence takes me toward cloud nine.

Your touch brings sensations that feel divine,

yet, my tongue is quiet, fighting this muse of mine.

Waiting for the moment our lips can greet,

your sweet voice takes control of my heartbeat.

I sigh hallelujah, as our eyes meet,

the taste of your mouth makes my life complete.

Suddenly the pen flows like buoyant streams,

describing love that's only seen in daydreams.

I'm just a star within universal schemes,

basking within the passion of your moonbeams.

Our love can't be hidden in a metaphor,

you're the poem my pen will always adore.

As soon as he ends it, you start tearing up again for what seems like the 10th time tonight. You throw your arms around him, feeling him return the embrace. You two kissed again and again, before deciding that it would be best for you two to go to bed. You had an amazing day, and you know things were only going to get better. 

And from how it looked when you came downstairs in the morning to make breakfast, you could only assume the same for those 4. Lumine and Scara had their arms wrapped around each other, laying on their sides facing each other. Scara's hand was holding Lumines into his chest, a peaceful expression on his face. Xiao and Aether were also locked into an embrace, but Aether was laying on top of Xiao. Xiao also looked to be in complete bliss, his mind finally at peace. 

You made sure to take pictures of this moment, for your own little memory.

3.11 Eivane Longfellow?

BTW THIS IS LIKE A FAKE NAME I CAME UP WITH, I HAVE NEVER MET ANYONE NAMED THIS.

Written part below

Eivane Longfellow was your typical, spoiled rich brat that had grown up. He had entered college the same year you, Xiao, and Scara. He didn't think much of you guys, as his ego was inflated beyond belief. You and he only had a couple classes together, and him finding out that you were incredibly talented in graphic design, and were possibly going to be graduating in 2 years instead of 4. He couldn't understand. You were just average to him. He was the cream of the crop.

You two had gotten put together with other people for an assignment, and that was when he started talking to you. He could see you were smart when it came to everything in graphics design, though you not being rich was a waste of your smarts in his mind. He found himself talking to you a lot more over what would be his and yours sophomore year, well, if you had graduated in 4 years instead of 2. He could tell that you were getting attached to him and that he decided he wanted to “play” with you a little bit. Unfortunately, he could never get you to fall in love with him, which made him mad. How could you not love a guy like him? You frustrated him to no end, you weren't like all the other girls that tried to get his number. You just wanted someone to hang out with and talk to. 

Eventually, once he could tell that you were not budging, he decided to cut you off completely. He went from talking to you to pretending he never knew a single thing about your life, like your favorite songs, your favorite food, and why you were best friends with Xiao and Scara. Every time you went to confront him about it, he just brushed you off, saying, “if you didn't have your head in the clouds, then you would have seen that you were just an annoyance to me.” After you finally gave up on talking to him, it was a few weeks after that that he realized what a mistake it was. He couldn't get you out of his head. He couldn't talk to other girls without you flashing into his mind. The other girls were boring in their conversations, about him, money, and other simple things. You wanted to know his future, his dreams, things that no one else would get close enough to talk about. It was at a party at the end of the year that he realized that. 

But it was too late.

You had graduated by then and were living on your own, and anyone that knew you knew not to tell him a single thing about you. Every time he came up to Scara and Xiao, they would threaten him to get away or else something bad would happen to him. He had tried slandering your name around campus in order for you to come to him personally to talk to him, but that just ended up with him getting the shit kicked out of him by Xiao and Scara. Those two never told you that they did that, having told him that if he were to tell anyone, then they would bring out the evidence of him slandering your name to the school board, which would cause a lot of trouble to him. 

He was actually at Venti’s party when he saw you, but wasn't friends enough to go down into the basement where you had gone. He tried, but Venti had blocked his way, saying that if he even tried to go downstairs, he was going to get Diluc and your two best friends to beat the shit out of him. He had seen you go up to the bar with Kazuha as well, waiting for the platinum-blonde man to walk away from you before he went up to talk to you. But the glare he had gotten from Diluc was enough of a warning for him to stay away. 

He also saw how Kazuha's number had gotten into your pocket. He saw Diluc subtly give Kazuha a piece of paper and pen when you were distracted with the 4 that came with him. As Kazuha was quickly scribbling it down, Diluc continued to glare at him, making sure he stayed away. 

He was there at the track meet when Kazuha and his group joined you in the bleachers, him at the top, all the way behind you. He saw how you two looked at each other, a look that he once had gotten from you. It was another nail in the coffin, the one that told him he fucked up.

And now here he was again, all the way at the top of the venue, looking down at your performance, hating himself. There you were, smiling while singing, you and Kazuha in love. That could have been him if he had gotten his head out of his ass. But no, you were there, in the arms of someone who actually loved each and every part of you. Your body, your mind, your soul. And he could do nothing about it.

3.10 Shows Packed

You were glad you guys were all in the pit area, because boy, was this place PACKED. You don't think you saw a single empty seat in the stands. The pit area had some seating, with a dance floor in the middle, and luckily not a lot of people were in this area. You even saw the bar, where you made a note not to drink too much tonight, you actually wanted to do well when you eventually sang. You guys arrived around 6:15 and were all currently chatting it up with other people in the area. It was mostly other people who were actually playing in the Battle of the Bands, and a few sponsors, to which you found out that Child had sponsored Kazuha. You watch Childe sneak away for a few moments, coming back 15 minutes later. He came over to you, nodding, a knowing look in his eyes. Kazuha also walked away, having to go make sure everything was set for his and your performance.

You were talking to the 4 lovebirds, asking them if they were excited. You had made note that Scara was standing a lot closer to Lumine than normal and that Xiao’s hands had not come off of Aether. “Yeah, I can't wait to see who all plays during the battle!” Lumine says, excitement evident on her face. You got Scara looking at her happily, chuckling at him. This causes him to notice you looking at him, his face turning sour, asking “What the hell are you looking at?” “Awwwwwwwwww,” you said, “You've grown up soooo much!!! Come here let me give you a big kiss and a hug.” You started walking towards him, his face scowling, but he opened his arms to reciprocate the hug, knowing that you would be an ass until you did it. You rocked him back and forth, hearing the other 3 laugh behind you, before grabbing his face and giving his forehead a sloppy kiss, much like how you gave Xiao a kiss on the night you two had made up. 

When you pulled away, a bit of blush on his cheeks had risen, causing you to laugh more.  You turned to look at Xiao and said, “don't laugh too much now mister, I gave you a hug and kiss on the night we made up, I'll do it again!” You pointed your finger at him, seeing Aether turn and laugh at him a little bit. Xiao had looked away, hand on his neck, blush on his face, though his other hand hadn't left the small of Aether's back. At this point, the other of your big group had returned, and them all going to the bar to get drinks. Kaeya had a laugh overhearing you say that last bit, asking, “You gave them a hug and a kiss?” “Yuppp,” you reply, hands on your hips, “we're basically family at this point, so I see why not.” Everyone else laughs at your statement, and hears Childe say, “Man, I want a hug and a kiss on the forehead too!!”

 You laugh and tell him to “come here”, giving him one as well, causing the group to laugh more at your hysterics. When you pulled away from Childe, you wiggled your eyebrows at Yoimiya, causing her to laugh and get even redder in the face, and you practically pulled her to replace where you were at Childe’s side. As you step back from the two of them, you hear someone ask you, “So are you like the mom friend of the group now?” You turn, looking at Albedo who was the one who asked the question, shrugging, “I guess? I mean it's between me and Yanfei!” You had pointed to her when you said her name, causing more people to laugh. 

You all continued talking while waiting for the performance to start, even talking about how you had called Kaeya “zonked out of his mind from sex” on the day he had come into the marketing department right before the beginning of the semester. Kaeya got a good laugh out of that, saying it was actually true. At this point, you hear the announcer come over to the speakers, saying the battle was about to start. You hadn't realized that Kazuha had walked up behind you, lacing his arms around you. It shocked you for a second before you relaxed into his arms. “Are you excited?” He asks, a knowing smile and look on his face. You nodded at him. 

About a week and a half after that first night you two stayed together, Kazuha had come to you and asked if you would ever sing in front of people again. You told him you weren't quite sure if you ever would, saying that it would have to be on one of those days when your confidence was through the roof. You had told him that the reason you only sang at Venti’s party was that you had a few in you and were inspired by his singing. He nodded, and you two didn't talk about it for a few days. He eventually asked if you would ever sing with him at the concert, and you were very hesitant at first. You had gone to a few of his shows at Diluc’s bar, and eventually one of the days, you decided to get up on stage and sing with him. You were surprised to find that you had ACTUALLY LIKED singing with him. You on stage with him gave you the confidence boost to sing your heart out. After that night, you said that in the future you would and could sing with him at the concert. You two had practiced a bunch of songs together throughout the weeks leading up to it. Every time you got done singing, he would praise you up and down, like you were some kind of goddess. You would always blush, knowing that he was just praising you to bring your self-esteem up, which worked. 

You had also sung once with him while your grandmother was on the phone. In fact, that was how your grandmother met Kazuha! She and you both text each other quite frequently throughout the week, usually having an hour-long call twice a week as well. She was very happy about your relationship, and when she heard you sing for the first time in a long time, she actually cried. She knew you were happier than you ever have been in your life, and she couldn't stop the tears from flowing because of that. You had worked so hard to get where you were today, and she couldn't have been more proud. 

The battle of the bands was an absolute blast. You all had fun dancing to the different music that was playing. There was even a country artist that played a few songs, and Yoimiya and Child started showing off their square dancing moves. You were happy at how those two were getting closer. You looked over everyone, laughing to yourself at how lost in their own little were your 4 lovebirds were. Hell! Even Scara was dancing, spinning Lumine around, his hands never leaving hers. You remember how you told her Scara actually knew how to dance, and her falling head over heels at the chance to dance with him. They couldn't take their eyes off each other. Xiao and Aether were both dancing as well, Xiao's hands never leaving Aether's waist. They both had such loving looks in their eyes, much like Lumine and Scara. You didn't think your heart could swell any bigger with joy. 

You got a peck on the cheek from Kazuha, causing you to turn back to him, a smile on his face at your joy, the same loving look in his eyes. 

You had not left Kazuha's arms at all, loving every minute of it. About 3 songs before the battle was over and the winner would be announced, he, unfortunately, had to break away from you. “I'm sorry my Dove, but I have to get backstage for the first part of my performance.” He said, a sad look in his eyes, though his smile was as big as ever. You nod to him, giving him a loving kiss, before pulling away and saying, “I'll be here till then!!” He nods, making his way through the group to head backstage. As soon as he was out a few, you smiled and chuckled to yourself, knowing what the second half entailed, you being excited to see everyone, including Kazuha's face. 

You were ready.

You continued dancing with the 4 lovebirds, laughing with them as the battle was drawn to a close. They announced the winner after a short while, the country music artist being the winner, causing the crowd to cheer and whoop. You guys cheered as well before the announcer came over to the speakers again.

“Well, folks, that was the battle of the bands. We're so glad you all enjoyed the first half. Now without any more delay, we have an artist ready backstage, for our second half. He was last year's winner, and now he is ready to close out the night. It’s Kazuha!” Your group cheered the loudest, ready for his performance. The light turns off, and it was the crowd's cue to quiet down before Kazuha started singing. For many in the crowd, they were here to hear Kazuha singing, as this has been the biggest crowd ever to grace the competition. He had gotten quite popular over the first half of the semester, and you knew it was only a matter of time before someone would come to him to sign him into a studio. 

He started out with one of his newer songs, causing the crowd to get riled up (NEFFEX - Go! 🚀). You were singing along to every one of his songs, having memorized the lyrics to every single one. You continued to dance with everybody till it was your cue. Throughout his performance, his eye constantly landed on you, seeing you singing along bringing him so much joy and warmth to his heart. He loved you with everything he had, and his lyrics showed it. He constantly had to tear his eyes away from you, in order to keep his mind on his performance, but you were just too beautiful in his mind. 

Eventually, a couple songs before you knew it was your turn to get up there and sing, you told everyone you had to go use the bathroom and that you'll be right back. Childe had also managed to sneak off from the group, and he managed to lead you to Kazuha’s dressing room, where your change of clothes was. You were extremely giddy, ready to knock his and your friends' socks off. As Childe walked away, you hear him call out, “Good Luck Y/n!” You wave back at him before entering the dressing room. You quickly got changed, and you put on the necklace that Kazuha had gotten you. It was the Anemo charm that was originally on his necklace, but he gave it to you as a symbol of his love. The electro symbol, which was a symbol of Tomo, was still on his necklace. 

You hear a knock, and as you opened, you saw the event organizer who was going to lead you to your place backstage. As he led you, he was excited, saying how Kazuha practically begged to have you come on stage, and how once he got approval, Kazuha was practically over the moon. He also said that he was able to add one more song to the end, a song you were going to sing by yourself. You nodded, and as you reached backstage you heard him end his final song before you came on. The event organizer gave you a mic, nodded at you, and you nodded back, signaling you were ready. 

“Now, normally I would continue on, but tonight I wanted to do something different.” You hear Kazuha say. You smiled, pumping yourself up. “I've got someone who I love with all my heart backstage right now, who's going to help me finish out the night.” You hear your friends screaming after he said that, now realizing what the big secret you two had been planning was. You could only smile and laugh to yourself. 

You couldn't have been more ready. 

“Please help me welcome to the stage, Y/n!” you hear Kazuha yell into the mic, excitement lacing throughout his voice. You hear the crowd go wild. That was when the first song started playing, and it was your cue to start singing. The second you walked out on stage, everyone's jaws had fallen to the floor in a collective gasp, mostly coming out of your friends and Kazuha, who looked like a deer caught in headlights.

During this first part you sang, you walked out from backstage, walking towards Kazuha. His eyes were wider than ever, mouth agape. You looked like an angel had just descended from the heavens, and he wondered how he was so lucky to have you.

As you reach him, you look down at your group of friends, eyes focusing on your two best friends and cousins. If you had not met them before, you would've thought that the smiles on their faces were a common occurrence. They were amazed at the fact you were on stage singing. In fact, your two cousins were cheering as loudly as possible, while your two best friends simply looked shocked. After knowing you for so long, they couldn't even understand that you were currently on stage singing. Guess you still had a few tricks up your sleeves. 

Turning back to Kazuha, adoration all across his face, before taking his hand and continuing singing. You start swaying with him, a gigantic smile on your face.

You two were practically singing to each other, and the crowd was loving it. You kept looking down at the main group, smiling at them, and even waving at one point. You got waves back from all of them, and you could see a smile on both Xiao’s and Scara’s faces. They looked proud that you were up there singing your heart out. You turned back to Kazuha as he finished.

You ended the song, wrapping your pinky around his, signaling to him that your pinky promised to love him for the rest of your lives. From the look of love on his face, you could tell he was doing the exact same thing. 

You guys continued to sing the other songs, dancing with each other, singing to your heart's content. After every song, the crowd went wild cheering. You even saw the two boys who were your best friends, hell, they were your BROTHERS, singing along to a couple of songs, singing to the ones that they were dancing with. It was amazing, and you felt lighter on your feet than you ever had before. 

At what was supposed to be the last song, where Kazuha knew at least, he ended up wrapping his arms around your waist, picking you up, and spinning you around. You threw your head back laughing, before looking at him and giving him a big old kiss on the lips. You two broke away quickly before he realized another song had begun playing. He looked at you, eyebrow raised with the biggest shit-eating grin one could ever see. You then started singing again.

This time though, by yourself.

(Davina Michelle - Beat Me is an amazing song and one that I thought would fit for you to end the show with. It's an amazing song, I absolutely love it. I feel like it encompasses the story very well. Especially the next part.)

This song meant a lot to you. You knew you were singing it to yourself and someone else you had actually seen that was there. It was the guy who you almost drank yourself to death because of. He had made it seem like you were someone special, but turned around and make you feel like you were never enough. He went from talking to you every day to acting like you two didn't have each other numbers. You found strength in what he did to you, turning it into the loving relationship you have now with Kazuha. He may have tried and break you, but you're still standing here at the end of it all. You came out first in the end. You had Kazuha to prove it. 

As you ended your song, you got crushed in the most loving hug you have ever received from the platinum-haired man. You could feel a couple tears down your neck. You hugged him back, before separating and nodding your head towards the crowd, you took your hands into his, and you both took your bow together, causing a standing ovation from everyone.

3.9 Concert Day!

Written part below

The 4 of you, Lumine, Aether, Yoimiya, and you had a great sleepover last night. For most of the night, you just bullshitted around till it was time to sleep, planning outfit ideas, hair, the whole assortment. You guys decided that you were going to go out tomorrow before the concert to buy some clothes for it. You all also decided to talk a little bit about your man, and it was at this point You decided to speak up about something. 

“Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo, guys I kinda need help with something.” She starts off, twiddling with her hair that was down. You three look at her intently, waiting for her to continue. She bites her lips for a few moments, before speaking, “I was kinda thinking maybe, just maybe, I could use this concert to try and flirt with someone?” 

“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GURL, who is it!!!” You ask excitedly, hands clapping together. She starts blushing, getting all shy. You 4 were in your pjs, sitting in a circle on the floor of your living room. “Yeah c'mon, tell us!!!! You just heard us talk about our “Significant others'', you might as well spill the beans.” Aether says, using his fingers to air quote “significant others”, as you knew that you and Kazuha were technically the only one that was official, other than Yanfei and Hu Tao. “Peer Pressure! Peer Pressure! Peer Pressure! Peer Pressure! Peer Pressure!” Lumine starts chanting before you and Aether start joining in before laughing at how bright red Yoimiya’s face becomes. “OKAY, IT'S CHILD!!!!!!” She finally says, exasperated, waving her arms to try and get you guys to stop chanting. Aether and Lumine had shocked looks on your faces, but you had a knowing smirk on your face. A couple of weeks prior, you and Kazuha had gone out with his friends, and you had noticed how smitten Yoimiya had seemed around Childe. Kazuha was actually the one to point it out to you two, and it's been a little secret you guys have kept from everyone else. 

“OMG, good luck, Childe seems to be the most oblivious person ever,” Lumine says, putting the back of her hand on her forehead. “Yeah, what do you plan on doing?” Aether asks, leaning forward, bouncing a little. She simply shrugs, “I don't know, but I figure since everyone else will have a date, I'm just figuring it would be a good chance to get his attention to stay on me longer than half a second.” You nod, agreeing with her, before you get a knowing smirk on your face, and look towards the twins, before asking them, “You gonna try and make moves on Scara and Xiao to try and make it official?”

It was the twins' turn to get cherry red in the face, neither of them speaking, confirming your question. You put your hands on your stomach, laughing, and then fall over. They both proceed to then grab nearby sofa cushions to smack you with them. “Hey hey hey, that's not fair, I'm laying down, ya shitheads!!!” You try to defend yourself from their onslaught, arms raised. “Whatever, we know that you've got some big secret plan that nobody seems to know about but Kazuah and you,” Lumines says, putting the cushion down and crossing her arms, a playful put on her face. “Yeah, yeah, I know, but that's what a secret is all about. Besides, you guys will like it!!” You say propping your head against your hand, still laying on the floor. 

They nod, before deciding that it was late enough at night that they should probably go to bed. No, your couch is one of those huge ones that take up most of your living room, so two people could sleep on different sides without touching the corner. Lumine and You decided to sleep on the couch, while Aether was going to come upstairs and sleep in your bed, as Kazuha was staying at his dorm tonight. As you were about to doze off to sleep on your side, you hear Aether behind you, “Hey, cuz, can I ask you a question?” You turn over, replying, “Yeah what's up star?” You two were facing each other, Aether biting his lip before continuing. “Do you think we really have a chance of becoming official?” He has a hopeful look in his eyes. “Of course, if anything, you two will become closer at this concert. And if not, “you say, “I'm sure he’ll have his reasons why and he will tell you.” Aether smiles, before laying on his back and looking up at the ceiling, a bright smile on his face. You pat him on the shoulder before turning back over, telling him goodnight, with him replying back softly.

You guys were at the mall at this point, going through some of the different clothing stores to see what you might wear. You guys decided to go to the men's first, so that way Aether could get his outfit out of the way since it was unfortunately 3 to 1. Aether managed to find a couple shirts and pants in one men's store, and now you and the other two were sitting outside the fitting rooms, waiting for Aether to try and show off what he found. You three were talking amongst yourself when he came out with his first outfit, something modest and casual, something you would see him wear every day. You all look him up and down, before hearing Lumine say to your left. “I like it, but it looks like another outfit you would wear to your classes.” You nod, agreeing with her. Youmiya adds, “I'm sure Xiao will definitely notice you, but I don't know if you'll “wow’ him, ya know?” Aether nods, before returning to the fitting room.

At this point, you were texting Kazuha to tell him where you guys were and what you were doing. Lumine and Yoimiya were chatting with you in between them, before hearing someone pipe up at the entrance of the fitting room, “Ah didn't realize you all were here.” YOu three looked over, realizing Kazuha was leaning against the door frame. You smile and get up quickly, running into his arms for a big hug. “It's funny,” you say slightly pulling away, “I had just texted you what we all were doing. He laughs, nodding when you hear Aether exit the fitting room behind you. 

You turn and look at Aether's outfit (in the outfit shown for him), and you wolf whistle at him. You turn in Kazuha's arm fully and take it in, nodding your approval at it. There was a little blush on his ears before you decide to point it out. “Oh,” he answers you, scratching his chin, “Well, I didn't realize how short this was, and it's basically a crop top on me.” “And?” Your reply to him, “you look cute as hell in that crop top! That looks to be more of a concert outfit!” “Yeah, Xiao’s hand will surely be on you all night if you wear that” Yoimiya pipes in, both her hands in a thumbs-up position. Aether gets redder before nodding and turning quickly back into the fitting room. You turn back to Kazuha, asking, “So what are you doing here?” 

“Same as you, though I've already got most of my outfit, I was trying to look for a jacket before I went with one of my old ones,” he replies to you, hands tucking into his pockets, a happy smile and loving gaze on you. You nod, before remembering to see a jacket you thought he would like. You quickly rush back out into the shop floor, hearing laughing from the two other girls at you. You managed to go straight to the rack, finding his size immediately. You took it off the hanger, turned around, and bumped into him, you hadn't realized he had followed you. He looks at the jacket in your hands, nodding and taking it from you. “Who knew you already knew my style?” He asks, a smirk and a knowing look in his eyes. “Well,” you say, “considering the vast majority of your wardrobe is either red, orange, or black, I figured you would like it. I was probably going to end up buying it for you anyways.” He nods, before giving you a peck on the lips, you giggle at him. You two headed to the counter, him paying for it, much to your displeasure, before you were joined by the other 3 you came with. 

“Man, of course, you're with Kazuha, wasn't it supposed to be a girl's outing?” Aether asks, walking with his arms full of the outfit he had decided on. You had put your hands on one of Kazuha's shoulders, sticking your tongue out at Aether, before replying, “Well, he just so happened to come into the same store we are in currently, so meh!” Kazuha laughs beside you, taking his bag with the jacket in and pulling you away from the cash register, allowing for Aether to pay for his purchase. Aether just shakes his head at you, Lumine and Yoimiya behind him. You had ended up walking to the entrance of the place, hand in hand with KAzuha before turning to him. “Well, though i would totally love to spend more time with you,” Kazuha says turning to you, putting his hands on your waist, “I've got a couple things I have to do before we meet at your place before the concert, so this is where we will have to part my dove.” You nod, a little sad because you really weren't going to see him much before the concert. You wrap your arms around his neck and give him a long kiss, before hearing your two cousins making gagging noises behind you. Without breaking the kiss, you take one of your hands and flip them off, earning laughter from Yoimiya. You two-part, a smile on both of your faces saying goodbye, him leaving you with a kiss on the back of your hand. The rest of the time at the mall was a blur, the three of you that still had to buy your outfits finding them rather quickly. You had also managed to secretly find a second outfit, your own little secret from even Kazuha, as a surprise to him when you were going to sing with him tonight. 

You all had managed to make it back to your place by 4, knowing that everyone else was supposed to meet there at 5:30, so that way you all could leave there and carpool to the venue and get there by 6:00. You all had scrambled to get ready, laughing and joking with each other while doing so. 

INSERT THE DRIP

It was 5:15, and you had managed to get yourself together the quickest and were currently helping Aether with braiding his hair into a fishtail braid. You had gone simple with your makeup, just some winged eyeliner, light mascara, and some clear lip gloss. Your hair was half up, half down. Aether was sitting in front of you, you did not have to put your shoes on yet to save your feet as much as you can since you figured you were going to be out till midnight. Yoimya was helping Lumine with her makeup, Yoimiya decided to leave her hair down for tonight. You had just finished putting the hair band in Aether hair before hearing a knock at your door. You slowly peeked your head out, seeing Kazuha's group outside, Child having been the one who had knocked. YOu looked at the crowd, saying hi, before your eyes locked on Albedo’s date, it was the blue-haired man you had seen earlier in the year. 

“Hey, Y/n, is it just you 4 right now,” Childe asks as you open the door more. You nod, “Yup, Kazuha, Xiao, and Scars aren't here yet, you guys are early!” “Well we figured we wanted pictures before we went, so we thought we could get here early so we could do so!” Yanfei says, her phone, her hand waving it, the other locked with Hu Taos, the two of them matching to a T. You nod, before hearing Yoimiya pipe up with a hello behind you, trying to get out of the doorway where you had put yourself. As Yoimiya had walked out onto your deck, you caught a slight blush form on Childe’s face, hi meekly saying hi, while everyone else had said hi as well to her. “Where're your shoes at Y/n?” Hu Tao asks. “Hey now,’ You say, “I was wanting to make sure my feet were not dying before we got there, so I hadn't put them on yet, give me a fucking moment.” You walked back into your apartment, hearing laughter from everyone. Lumine and Aether had both finished putting on their shoes, looking up at you and walking over to where your shoes were. 

“Is Xiao and Scara out there yet?” Lumine asks. You shake your head no, chuckling at how nervous the two of them were. “They ain't here yet, so you two have a movement to calm your nerves before seeing them.” This causes the both of them to flip you off, you laughing at the slightly peachy faces. You had to see, your cousins could really up the sex appeal with their outfits. Childe had come in at this point, saying, “The last three are here, which is good because it's almost 5:30 now.” You nod, watching your two cousins quickly exit your home. You laugh at the two, before sliding the bag that had your other outfit to Childe. “Are you sure you are going to be able to slide this into his dressing room?” You ask. He nods, him grabbing it, and winking at you. You had gotten with him, having to tell of your little secret performance, in order for you to change into your outfit before you got on stage. 

You got your shoes on, mad that you had missed Xiao and Scara’s first reaction, but considering how everyone was laughing at them, you realized you weren't too late. Both of your cousins were still on the porch, and you were behind them looking at your two best friends. Shocked was exactly what you would describe the two, eyes and mouth wider than you have ever seen them, throwing you into a fit of laughter. You came up behind Lumine and Aether, putting your arm on each of their respective shoulders, saying “Aren’t my cousins soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute?” At this point, you had snapped all 4 of them out of a trance, causing them all to blush, laughing even harder. You saw out of the corner of your eye Kazuha coming up to you, him laughing at you and them, putting a hand on your lower back to stabilize you from falling over laughing. You hear Yanfei pipe up, saying that we had a few minutes to get some pictures before you all left.

You decided to take turns getting your picture taken. You even managed to get a “couple” picture of you, Kazuha, and the other 4 lovebirds. Eventually, Hu Tao got out her selfie stick to get everyone, Albedo and Kaeya included, in a big group photo. You all had a serious one before everyone started to get goofy. Once all of the pictures had been taken, you had been pulled back by Kazuha, while everyone else headed to the car that was going to take them to the venue. He had looked at you up and down, eyes in a dreamlike state. You wrapped your arms around his neck, giving him a quick peck. 

“Ready?” He asks, looking you in the eyes, a smile plastered all over his face.

“Ready,” you answer, nodding at him, before hearing your car honk, looking over to Scara reaching over to the front, honking at you two to hurry up, the 4 lovebirds laughing at you two.

3.8 The Redemption

Written part below

It doesn’t take Xiao too long before he arrives at your place. You were sitting on the couch, on your phone texting Kazuha about both your days and how Xiao was coming over to talk. He was concerned about you, but also knew that the two of you needed to talk alone in private in order to overcome this obstacle. He understood that this was just a rough patch in your relationship that needed to be smoothed out. 

You hear a knock on your door, and yell out, “It's unlocked, come in!” Xiao slowly enters, the hoodie of his sweater pulled up over his head. After he closes the door behind him, he turns and stands idly, staring at the ground. There was an awkward silence between you two before you spoke up. “Well,” you say, “Are you going to come over here and let me give you a big hug?” He looked up to see your outstretched arms, and you could see he was worse for wear. He had major bags under his eyes, and his face was pale. The last time you ever saw him look like this, was when his siblings died.

After a moment, he finally crosses the distance between you two, sitting down, and burying himself in your embrace. His face was shoved into your neck, arms wrapped around your waist. He was holding on to you tightly, as if he let go you would blow away in the wind. You wrap your arms around his neck, one hand pulling his hood down, reaching to stroke his hair, the other stroking his back. At this point, small sobs were escaping his throat, and you knew he needed a moment to simply cry in your arms. You two sit there, slowly rocking, trying to shush and calm him down. His tears were warm running down your neck, his sobs sounding relieving yet heartbroken at the same time. 

Eventually, he managed to calm down, and slowly pull away, wiping his eyes. They were swollen and bloodshot, and you can see that his hair was slightly greasy, more than likely having not taken a shower since that night. He was trying to control his breathing for a few moments, before finally starting to speak. 

“I'm so sorry,” he says, voice hoarse, “I never meant to come at you like that.” You smile at him, helping wipe his face with your sleeve, “I know, I'm sorry too, I didn't mean to push you that far for you to lash out. I was stubborn in wanting to help you.” He shook his head frantically, “No, you did nothing wrong, I was the one being the ass. I couldn't see that you were trying to help me. My thoughts were everywhere before you texted me that night, and I wasn't in the right mindset to talk about that kind of stuff.” You look at him for a few moments before he continues.

 “I knew that I was starting to get complacent with Aether, but I didn't know how to keep moving forward with it. I was trying to sound like I was nonchalant and not really caring about him when that couldn't be further from the truth. I do really care for him, I just didn't know how to get it into words at all. I knew I could come to you about it, but you asking questions made me realize that I didn't have any answers. I started shutting down at that point, and I couldn't stop being a complete dick about it. I don't even know why I said half the things I did, it was like someone else was talking to you for me.” You nod at him to continue.

“I know you aren’t going to leave me and Kuni just because you're in a relationship now, but I was just scared at the potential possibility. I couldn't tell you why, but at that moment, I thought of him as a threat. It was just so many emotions hitting me all at once, and I just couldn’t……” He was beginning to sob again, and you wrap your arms around his neck. After a few moments, you respond to him. “I know that me being in a relationship is hard for you and Kuni, not being able to talk to you all as much. I know that you don't know how to form your thoughts into words at times. I won't ever hold you against that.” You pull away from, “What I will hold against you, is not being able to think for yourself. I know you've worked hard on keeping your emotions in check. You've also worked amazingly at your anger. I just wanted to understand why a guy like you wasn't thinking. Just in general, you always have been the smartest when it comes to thinking about problems and solving them. After seeing you act like that, I was worried you had regressed slightly back to when we were kids.”

At this point, you were staring him straight in the eyes, a serious look on your face. “You have to understand, this isn't just about you, Aether is also involved. He's my baby cousin, and I love him as much as you, so I wanted to make sure that if it was something that you two truly wanted, it would go as smoothly as possible. I'm not trying to get in the way of you figuring yourself and him out, but it was hurting me, that it felt like you weren't even trying.” He nods, begging to understand your point before you continue, “how do you think I would have felt if my baby cousin got his heart broken by my best friend? I don't know what I would do. But it would hurt even more if you didn't try anything at all.”

You smile and, without realizing it, let out a single tear, “Nothing would make me happier than to see you two thrive in a relationship together, but I’m not just gonna sit idly by if something seems wrong. You should know that. I have your back, and I always will, just like how I will have Aethers.” You put your hand on his shoulders, making sure the next point got across to him.

“But, you need to have your own back, Alatus. You have to have your own back first, followed by the people you love. I'm here to support you, but I can't hold you up, you have to do that yourself. Once you do that, you're set for life. And part of having your own back is being able to understand your emotions. You have to truly understand how you work, so that way you can be better. I can sit here all day and be here for you, but if you're not gonna be here for yourself, what good does my help do?”

It takes him a few moments to process what you were saying before realization crosses his eyes, and he nods.”I understand I know what I need to do in the future. Thank you, Y/n.” You nod back at him with a smile on your face. “Good, because if I had kept up, I was going to seriously get even madder than I was. I was gonna send Kazuha after you honestly.” You hear him chuckle, you two now sitting beside each other, shoulders pressed against one another. “Yeah, I could tell he wasn't happy when I saw him yesterday. I was doing my daily jog and I saw him walking to class.” You laugh at him, smacking his shoulder, “Yeah, he was quite mad that night, he came over to stay the night. He comforted me, I was a wreck after we had stopped talking.”

There were a few moments of silence, before Xiao spoke up again, “Y/n, I'm happy for you. I really am. After what happened last summer, I was worried that you wouldn't have someone special in your life, or wouldn't even try to find someone. He seems to compliment you quite well.`` You laughed even more at his words, “Well yeah, you could say that, he sort of takes all the bad parts about me and vice versa, and it's great. He can sort of wander at times, never knowing what the next step might be. I ground him in a way no other really has. It’s amazing, really. He also takes my jumbled-up thoughts and turns them into something that I can actually understand. We make a good pair.”

After hearing you say that, he pauses for a moment before flicking you in the forehead. You reach up with an “ouch”, before he said, “Don't get too soft now, can't have your head in the clouds.” You laugh and swat at his hands, before looking at him smiling bigger. He had a small smile on his face, one that was genuinely happy. You open your arms, before saying, “Now come here and let me give you a big ass hug and kiss on the forehead, I've missed you.” He lets out an airy laugh before returning the hug, letting you kiss the diamond on his forehead.  You two rock back and forth, happy that you two were able to get some understanding between you again. 

At this point, the door opens, and Kazuha enters. You hear him laugh behind you, “Well, I don't think I ever expected to see my woman in the arms of a man now.” “Hi KAzuuuuuuuuuuu”, you reply to him, straining your neck to smile at him. He comes up to the both of you as you two split apart, you standing and opening your arms for him. You receive a big hug and a gentle peck on the lips, before turning to Xiao. “I can assume you two are better now?” He asks, looking directly at Xiao. Xiao nods, standing up, before seeing you two separate. They stare at each other for a moment before Xiao speaks. “Take care of her will you? She means the world to all of us.” He asks, a trusting look in his eyes. He slowly holds his hand out to shake, waiting. 

Kazuha, without missing a beat, nods, before answering. “Of course, I can't go and break everyone's trust with her now, can I? Just make sure that you take care of her and yourself.” He returns the handshake happily.

Xiao nods, a thankful smile on his face.

3.7 The aftermath of the talk with Xiao

Written part below

No warnings, but a lot of angst is down there

You couldn't hold back the tears from flowing. It was like your heart was completely smashed into a million pieces. You had just sent your last text to Xiao before dropping your phone onto the bed, hands slamming to your face, a loud sob coming from your throat. You hear Kazuha turn off the water in the bathroom and rush to you, having just gotten out of the shower and brushed his teeth. You were sitting on your bed for the entire conversation, and haven't moved at all. He threw his arms around you to cradle you into his chest.

“What happened,” he asked, worry laced into his voice. When he had gotten to your place, he could tell you were frustrated at Xiao but did not want to overstep his boundaries. The second he heard you sob though, he knew your intuition had been right before you had even started the conversation with the teal-haired man. 

You couldn't really form a coherent sentence, choosing to instead, pick up your phone, unlock it and hand it to him. Before looking at it, he sits behind you, one of his arms holding you, while the other holds the phone. As he scrolled down, he couldn't even begin to comprehend what was going through Xiao’s mind. He couldn't understand how he could just be nonchalant about his own feelings and then get mad when you were just trying to help him. You were literally his best friend, and you've told him of some of the stuff you two have talked about. Dark couldn't even begin to describe it. So why now, when it is something that could potentially be happy, that he felt like that? To not care about what others think, even more so what he thought about Aether? He saw the two making out under the tree!

You had pretty much shut down, deciding to lie in his arms and listen to his heartbeat, hoping beyond hope that it was all a bad dream and that your best friend just didn't act like the biggest dick in the world. 

Kazuha finally looks down at you after reading the entire thing, completely torn and heartbroken for you. He turned to put your phone on the nightstand and grabbing his phone decided that he was going to need some help.

You hear someone pound at the door frantically, becoming startled. You were suddenly worried, what if Xiao had come to find you? You weren't ready to see him just yet after what had just transpired. Kazuha, seeing the look in your eyes, gently holds your face before saying, “It's not him.” He proceeds to get up, leaving you with a kiss on your forehead, “Don’t worry, I've called for some backup.” In his words, you were expecting his group of friends. 

What you were not expecting was your two cousins and Scara running through the apartment, crashing through the door frame of your room. 

“WHAT THE FUCK DID THAT ASSHOLE DO?” Scara yells, rage seething from every syllable. “Scara, give her a moment,” Lumine frantically says, having launched herself in your arms, “she looks to be in shock, I don't think Kazuha told her we were coming!” You frantically shake your head no before pulling one of your arms from her, grabbing Aether, and pulling him into a hug as well. Aether was sniffling a little bit, worry evident in his features. 

Eventually, once the commotion settled down, you managed to pass your phone to everyone, showing the conversation that you had previously with Xiao. 

Scara was the first one, and if you thought he was mad before, OH BOY, it just got a whole lot worse. “Why in the fucking hell did he act like that? Last time I checked, it was him that was the happiest for you guys to be in a relationship. He was bouncing off ideas on how he was going to ask Aether on a date, and that was a week or so ago?”

Next was Lumine, who had a horrified look on her face. “Yeah, this isn’t like Xiao. He absolutely treasures the times he gets with you, I've never heard him say any conversation about anyone was pointless! And why was he so defensive about what he thought, or I guess, the lack thereof? This makes no sense!”

You absolutely dreaded giving your phone to Aether, looking at him with so much sadness. You looked at him nodded his head, and said, “I can do it, don't worry.”

Aether was probably one of the most expressive people you ever met in your life, so for him to have no emotion whatsoever while he read broke you even more. You could see the swirl of emotions in his eyes. When he finally was through, he looked completely lost.  “I’m sorry Aether,” you say, “I was just trying to help you both. I feel like I pushed him too far.” 

He just sits there, eyes on him before finally taking a big breath, and on the exhale, a small sob comes out. “Why did he feel like he couldn't talk to me or you? I’ve been open about everything I have felt to him so that there was nothing hidden between us.” He takes another shaky breath before continuing, “I've never known him to be like this. I know you said an Angry Xiao was not a fun Xiao to deal with, but this,” he shakes his head, “I don't know what to think about this. It's like he's completely different.” At this point, everyone was sitting on the bed, Kazuha having taken his place right back behind you. Aether sitting you to your left, Scara and Lumine to your right. You all sit in silence before you hear Lumine speak up.

“There has to be something more to this,” she says somber eyes on the verge of tears, “We all have known him for so long, and this is the first time he's come out of the left field and acted like this.” You nod, knowing your voice is beginning to fail you. Scara was the next to speak. “Do you think something has happened to him since the pasta place?” “No,” Aether answers, “I've been with him practically every day since then, and it didn't seem like anything really had changed.” 

“So,” Kazuha says, having read the other conversation you had with the three of them without them knowing, “You don’t think he's doing this for attention then? It seemed like when Y/n was trying to end the conversation, he kept trying to bring her back.” “No,” Scara says, shaking his head, “It's not like him to seek attention. Whenever he knows he has fucked up, he’ll oftentimes pull what you just saw. I think he was getting defensive because he hadn’t thought about what he felt in Aether, and Y/n trying to help him must have set him off.” “That still doesn’t excuse him,” Lumine says, “He should know she's the most understanding of us all!”

“But,” Aether interjects, “He does have a severe guilty conscious, and once he knew that he had fucked up, he started shutting down. He only did it once with me, and I can't even remember what it was about. I think he realized that he was being a dick, but did not know how to basically stop being one, and because he feels the need to get the last message in, especially with Y/n, he continued to do so.”

“It doesn’t condone how he treated her,” Kazuha said, his voice firm, “I want you all to know that. He should know better. I know you all would.” Everyone nods at Kazuha before the room goes silent again. You finally found some strength in your voice to speak up. “If I know Xiao right now, he is probably beating himself up right now. Someone needs to check on him. Please.” No one immediately answers you, and you become worried. Luckily, Aether speaks up, “I’ll do it, if anyone else does, then it might set him off again. I’ll be right back.” He goes to get up, but you grab his arm in doing so, a look of worry across his face. He leans over to hug you, whispering in your ear, “I know, I'll go easy on him. This is the ugly part of him that he doesn't want me to see. I just hope he lets me in.” As he pulls away to look at you, you nod, squeezing his arm in assurance. He looks over to everyone else, getting a nod out of Scara and Kazuha, and a worried look from Lumine. You reach over to her, getting her attention before nodding at her, signaling that everything is going to be alright. She smiles, and turns to her twin, before nodding at him as well, a bright smile on his face. He smiles back, a look of determination on his face, before excusing himself from the room. 

At this point, it was almost 10 at night, and you knew Lumine needed to get to bed before long for an early morning class. “Good to bed,” you say to her, getting her attention, “I’m better now, I swear. You need to get to sleep before long and I don't want you to be tired from your hard class in the morning.” Lumine looks at you before nodding and pulling you into a hug. “I know, I love you cuz, I’m sorry this happened.” You reply back to her, a smile tracing her features, “I love you too, now get out of here before I kick your ass.” You turn to Scara, smiling at him before saying, “Don’t kill him yet, we'll see if he talks to Aether. Get her back to her dorm.” Scara nods, a somber look on his face. He doesn't say anymore. As he goes to get up, Aether comes back into the room.

“Hey Scara, could you drop me off at Xiao’s dorm?” “Yeah, you going to see him?��� Scara replies. “Yeah, when I got down to the living room he called me and was sobbing on the other end of the line. He didn't tell me why, only that he needed me.” You nod, before giving him a hug, “I love you cuz.” He hugs you back, replying to you, “I love you too, don't worry about me. I think I'm getting in.” You pull back and nod at him. You say goodbye to the three, Kazuha right behind you. As you close the door behind them. You turn to him, a somber smile on your lips. 

“You know, I never thought that would happen. But I'm so glad you're here. I don't know what I would've done had I been alone.” He looks at you, his rubies matching your mood, before grimacing and pulling you into a tight hug. “Like I said, I don't like how he treated you, and I hope you understand, I'm going to be wary of you two talking by yourself in the future.” 

“But,” He says as he pulls away to look you in the eyes, “I know how much he means to you. So I’m going to give him as many chances as it takes.”

“Thank you,” You say, “Let's get to bed, I’m fucking tired.” He nods, taking your hand, dragging you to bed, the embrace in bed tighter than any night before, as you two go to sleep.
