Crowley pretending to die for plot reasons and out of stubborn spite but then aziraphale starts holding him and cradling him and sobbing like in a pieta bible painting and he’s trembling and stroking his hair and crowley starts feeling realllly kinda guilty but can’t quite figure out a non awkward time to say uhhh just joking lol

I choose to ignore s2 Good Omens ending and instead I offer this: Aziraphale turns down the job and there's no consequence for that. Muriel stays behind and discovers the wonders of the internet, they have a TikTok account where they post occasional bookshop aesthetic videos, sometimes Aziraphale gives a lesson on a particularly old book, people comment about the appearance of the tall skinny goth guy with the glasses interrupting to rant. What better way to introduce him than to do a couples challenge "how well do Aziraphale and Crowley know each other?" they get every question right, It's an instant hit, Muriel makes them do several ones.

The booktok lean.

"what's so 'challenging' about leaning on the doorframe?"

"Oh, I think this one is called a 'trend' actually"

"right"

Muriel is setting up their phone, yells action and on cue Crowley puts his hands up top on the doorframe and towers over Aziraphale like all those other couples, except he leans too close, nose to nose. Aziraphale turns every shade of red. It goes viral.

Okay, so we all saw how Crowley's Bentley LOVES Aziraphale in season 2, but what about Aziraphale's things loving Crowley?

When Crowley argues about how the Bentley is his, Aziraphale uses his bookshop as an example of how they basically share things anyway... SO I implore you to imagine: - Cups of espresso just miraculously appearing on the nearest surface to Crowley, and the cup's content changing every time depending on Crowley's mood (one time Crowley took a sip of what he thought was water and got absolutely CHOKED by straight vodka)

- Velvet Underground immediately starts playing for Crowley the moment he steps foot into the bookshop

- The lights in the bookshop get amped up to 1000 so Crowley can see properly with his sunglasses on indoors

But it doesn't stop there - what if the bookshop loves Crowley so much it ACTIVELY tries getting him and Aziraphale together so he'll stay forever???

Crowley got kicked out of his flat after Shax replaced him, right?? So what if now the bookshop is just doing things to try and make Crowley move in???

May I suggest:

- Aziraphale's bed becomes a double bed - A pair of red slippers starts appearing by the said double bed, right next to Aziraphale's white pair

- An absolutely GIANT snake enclosure just randomly appears one day at the back of the bookshop. I'm talking the fucking Beverly Hills mansions of snake enclosures - ANOTHER TOOTHBRUSH. AT THE SINK. - Some of the most beautiful, LUSTROUS plants starts growing in the crooks and crannies of the bookshop just so Crowley has a reason to come over and inspect them

idea: Crowley convices Aziraphale to start a tiktok channel ("Just for funsies, angel. To show your ah cooking skills!"), but then edits the videos to make them look as lasciviously as possible. You know...like That foodporn guy.

I need Muriel to give Crowley a hug, actually.

They learn from books and movies and tv shows, they talk to Nina and Maggie, they go native rather quickly because they're just completely immersed in it.

Crowley is miserable, of course he is. He refuses to talk about it, refuses to even mention Aziraphale, refuses to explain why he didn't go with him. Most of the time, he curls up in his armchair by the window and watches life go on around him.

One day it's particularly bad, he goes for a drive that lasts several hours, and when he comes back to the bookshop he is drenched to the bone because he refused to seek cover from the rain and just stared at the sky for ten minutes.

Muriel stops in front of him and says "I'm going to hug you now" and then does exactly that. It's a bit awkward since neither of them has actually ever properly hugged another being, but Crowley couldn't resist if he wanted to. He melts into, all long limbs and pain, and Muriel holds him without a care for their clothes and doesn't say a single thing the entire time.

They cling to each other for an hour without tiring, and Crowley takes off his glasses at some point and properly hugs them back. Aziraphale is- was his world, and without him, he is aimlessly drifting through space, and there's nothing anyone could do or say to give him the gravity he is missing.

But it's a start.

Muriel is an anchor, kind, understanding, and without centuries of history stretching between them, so he allows himself to be centred by them while he figures out how to create his own gravity again; how to make a star that can exist without its twin, free to hurl through space all on its own.
