Rose sends future hubby a quick preview of what's to come before their marriage.

Whenever Rose watches her partner handle fire, it all comes back.

Not just the heartwarming fact that she gave him a chance, but also - and especially - the actions despite which she did so. The atrocities he committed.

It is something they'll have to deal with all their life together.

It won't get away, or lessen. To the contray, at first it'll get worse, when his new life opens Armi's mind to the idea that, no, he isn't the hero who saved the galaxy from disorder by obliterating first the New Republic and then the First Order, but a monster created by monsters.

What he has lost. What he has taken from others. All the things that could have been. The damage he has wrought even to those he didn't kill. The damage wrought to him.

The first shot was taken when Armitage insisted on striking a pose. After all, the galaxy is going to watch! Future generations will see this! The heroes cannot just wave sticks randomly! Well, Ben can, because he's a hopeless toddler. But not his new friends. Rose, Finn, Poe and especially Rey need to get seen dignified. Please...?

This more natural shot was taken after BB-8 lied to Armitage not to record anymore. (He knows it was a lie, by the way. He can hear the levels of activity on a droid and BB-8 was NOT giving off standby hums. But Rose wanted those recordings, so what else than play along could he have done?)

GingerRose Week 2025, Day 1 - Leather

This piece is inspired by my first Reylo fic, "In Focus." This dialogue would have taken place after Chapter 21, when Hux rescued Rose from the riot at La Cage @ Canto.
