HC: Ginny would wear Harry's Quidditch jersey while their time together at Hogwarts before the war and sometimes, just to tease her, people would call her Potter or at Hogsmead, once or twice or maybe thrice, a few people by mistake called her 'Potter' and she was over the moon.

Ginny: My partner needs to be graceful, sophisticated, and coordinated.

Harry: Hey Gin- *crashes into a table, falls and drags everything off the table with him*

Ginny:

he had spoken without thinking, and saw ginny’s face whiten. 

“so it’s true?” she said. “that’s what you’re trying to do?” 

 “i — not — i was joking,” said harry evasively. 

they stared at each other, and there was something more than shock in ginny’s expression. suddenly harry became aware that this was the first time that he had been alone with her since those stolen hours in secluded corners of the hogwarts grounds. he was sure she was remembering them too. both of them jumped as the door opened, and mr. weasley, kingsley, and bill walked in.

i really do love that this is the first time they’ve been alone since breaking up at a funeral and two things happen in rapid succession:

harry, who has been tight-lipped & on edge abt The Plan for several days now, is so comfortable with ginny that he completely blows his cover bc dry, muttered asides to ginny are apparently muscle memory for him

they mutually transition from “that’s a life-threatening mission” to “we have to make out right now immediately” in the space of actual seconds

rip james potter you would have loved your son's wife

james who gives prehogwarts!ginny one on one chaser lessons at least once a month because she liked to fly and when the boys were home they don't let her play with them.

james who would let ginny sleep over at theirs sometimes when the boys were all at hogwarts and he'd watch her and lily make cookies and chit chat.

james who'd gift her chaser gloves and harpys merch for her birthdays, christmas, and other occasions even if her mother disapproved. (that might be because he gave her and ron a nimbus when they made it to the team)

james who ginny turned to talk to like she used to do with bill because james simply adores her and always wanted a daughter.

james who turned a blind eye to her pranks at harry and ron and always made sure to deflect her mother's wrath away from her.

james who was the first person to know when harry first fell inlove with ginny, and threatened him to not mess this up.

james who was the first person to know that ginny got accepted by the harpys

headauror!james who once dreamed of playing quidditch professionally intentionally manipulating watch schedules at the ministry so it doesn't coincide with Ginny's games. He'd throw freshauror!harry under the bus as a last resort if had to as long as he'd get to be there.

As much as I dislike the epilogue, I do think that Harry and Ginny are an awesome couple.  Here they are at some fancy shindig.

The reason why I think Harry thought of Ginny before he went to die is because she helped him relief the weight of the world on his shoulders, especially with her lips.
