stoned. this shit has me creasing. S4E3 "Victory of the Daleks" we're 20m in and it's the terrific reveal of the pure Daleks of the Progenitor. flashing lights to set the mood, climactic music, dramatic shots of each of our main characters, all leading to...
the fucking Power Rangers
we got Whiteboard White leading the gang, his traffic cone pal to the left, Cherry Jolly Rancher behind him, Trademark Royal Blue on the right, with hazard yellow bbringing up the rear

perhaps someone more observant than I can explain it to me. S3E12 Utopia, less than 10 minutes in. the Doctor sees Jack Harkness running towards the TARDIS, ignores him, and promptly takes off. in the following scenes, the Doctor is completely aloof. Jack looks to be dead and the Doctor is unbothered, even when Jack states the Doctor abandoned him, the Doctor's response is "did I? busy life. moving on."
what is that ??? why ???
nevermind Martha being sharply reminded of where she stands with the man, Especially when Rose is brought up
obviously the Doctor gets more excitable at the mention of Rose, but why did he react to Jack that way? other than Jack dying, Bad Wolf, leaving him years into the future, etc. etc. the two seemed to be on good terms. what did I miss?

stoned again. I notice a certain dynamic between Martha and the Doctor
she's somewhat of a rebound for the Doctor. he's seemingly often oblivious to her affections e.i. when they shared a bed in S3E3 The Shakespeare Code and various other instances
whole Rose loves the Doctor, Martha "loves" the Doctor, worships him. Rose worshipped him too, but I feel Martha idolizes him. I wonder if the Doctor relishes that, it reminds him of his Rose. he takes opportunities to be reminded of his Rose. taking Martha to the same planets e.i. New New Earth in S3E4 Gridlock and repeating dialogue. at first he was resistant to keep Martha as his constant companion, insisting so for a number of episodes. he seems to seek reminders of Rose, her hopefulness, excitability, youth, but not the vulnerability. multiple instances where Martha attempts to get closer to the Doctor, only for him to shut down and shut her out. though also on occasion, he shares a tidbit with her. I don't remember many instances where the Doctor would shut Rose down so blatantly
Martha worships and idolizes the Doctor, like when she received the TARDIS key, she held out her hands in a way I can't succinctly describe, but it reminds me of bowing in prayer, palms up in praise and deference. her expression, reverence, everything
while I think the Doctor to be unattainable, he was closer and more "human" to Rose. she brought him closer to his humanity, he's quite literally a genocide survivor and that's clearly shown in Nine's run. for Martha, that worship isn't nearly as reciprocated. obviously he's wounded for having lost someone he so deeply cared for so maybe it all boils down to that

maybe it's just cause I'm stoned but I noticed something about Rose I adore. finally got the last push I needed to pick up Doctor Who again, my old love, after seeing the Doctor's new regeneration. so I'm rewatching back from 9
I'm in the classical S1E10 The Doctor Dances aka Are You My Mummy pt. 2. it's the scene from which the true title is named after
I absolutely adore how Rose flirts. perhaps it is cause we are close in age that I am so fond of her also. she's not entirely subtle, but she's not in your face either. there's a sweet coyness to her advancements. I've noticed it before but finally found a few words to describe it. side note
it's not just the way she flirts, but in another way, in which she loves. she loves the adventure. she's so remarkable and I wish I knew the order in which to string my silly little words to truly encapsulate and convey my observation. a simple example, her empathy and love turned a tortured soilder rewritten down to the cells to hate and exterminate, into something that could experience mercy, fear, understand love, and so forth. granted it could not handle it in the end, but that's not the point
more side notes
she very comfortable with the Doctor. thrill seeking, literally leaving not only a boyfriend behind, but her Mother, and a whole life too, for this wild adventure with a mad man, to understate
I love their banterful dynamic. the trust too, which plays so deeply into it. it's all so heartwarming and makes my feel mushy mushy. also it's the mad crush I have on Billie Piper but that's besides the point
am so envious of Rose, as I think many are. she's not a perfect character, she makes mistakes, but she almost always makes it out of disaster, as just a girl. not as a genius Time Lord, granted he is much help, but as a girl, who loves, and cares, and is exploratory, adventurous

I know I'm late to the party, but the best part of Madame Web was the ending. And I don't mean that in a biting way, but seeing the four of them like that gave me a giddy feeling.
Overall the movie had alright pacing, love the girls but their acting lacked in some areas, specifically Johnson. She didn't give Cassie the urgency I felt was needed at various points or convey the emotion I was expecting to come from her. A few lines felt forced, especially O'Connor's, but I'm blaming the script writers.
The dub was killing me.
The editing was a double wammy.
Good assortment of actors and actresses. They way they were handled fell short. Unpleasant at moments to be sure, but fun.
Honest, I mostly enjoyed how the girls interacted with each other and Cassie warming up to them, and them to each other. Julia is so funny. Anya the lovable up and coming NerdTM. And Mattie, I just adore Mattie.
I wouldn't pronounce the movie camp, more half-assed to "treat" the nerds and it borderline got to be about as appetizing as binge eating candy corn. But irregardless, pleasant and enjoyable if you don't have a stick shoved up your ass. I liked it, it was fun, amusing even.

Little Birdie
785 word count
triggers: animal cruelty, animal harm, animal death
"Gianna! Gianna, come look!"
The auburn raised her gaze from her book to her kid sister of 7 years, her mane of flaming red like a halo in the sunlight. The child's face was alight in excitement as she bounded across the yard, grass stuck on her clothes.
"What, Gemma?"
"I found a baby birdie." The girl exclaimed excitedly, bouncing on her bare feet now as she stood at her sister's bent knees.
Gianna hummed, returning to her book. "Let it be. If your scent lingers then the momma won't take it back."
"It won't fly though. I think its wing broke."
Gianna paused at that. A moment, then she closed her book and set it on the bench, coming to her feet. "Show me,"
Gemma took her sister's hand and guided her to the pond behind their home. At the base of a towering oak was a collection of Gemma's rocks and sticks and a chick, about the size of a toddler's palm, cocooned by one of Gemma's shawls.
"See!" Gemma declared, startling the bird, which let out a chirp and flapped one wing, the other twitching at its side.
"Not so loud, Kid. You'll scare it." Gianna said, coming to a knee. Carefully, she scooped up the hatchling. It flailed hopelessly in her palm as she examined it. "Looks like a hummingbird." Looking up into the limbs of the tree granting them shade, she spotted what looked to be a nest, quite a ways up. "Must've fallen out." She returned to her examination and realized that the flittering wing was indeed broke. "Doesn't look broke," She said, petting the warped limb, "Just some residue on the wing, likely bearing her down."
"So she'll be okay?" Gemma asked, leaning in over her sister's shoulder to watch.
"She'll be fine. Go and retrieve me a rag, would you? We can get her cleaned up."
The seven-year-old ambled off towards their house, a skip in her step. "I'ma tell Momma we rescued a birdie!"
Gianna hummed in acknowledgement, enthralled by the creature flipping back and forth. It's feathers were green and blue and brown and shined almost iridescent under the noon sun. "Aren't you a pretty little one," She crooned, bopping the top of its head with her finger. It chirped up at her, tiny malleable beak opening and closing to snip at her. Gianna laughed, amused, and moved closer to the shore of the pond. "Feisty,"
Reaching down, she dunked the chick into the shallow water, fist closed about it, a tight pressure on the creature. She pulled back and it chirped again, so she submerged it into the water once more, longer, rubbing it into the water's soil. She felt a crunch. When she raised it above the surface, its chirp was weaker, choked.
She opened her fist and both wings flapped, equally futile now. "Aw," She doted, "Both your wings broke now, little birdie?" It flopped in her hand, trying to run over her fingers, but she clutched it tight. "Silly thing."
She admired it a moment longer before pinching its head between her two fingers and squeezing. The chick shrieked, writhing, trying to escape. Gianna took her time, gradually increasing the pressure until a sweet snap rang through and the bird went limp in her hold.
"Hm," The girl hummed, "Kinda like cracking an egg. Apt." She suspended the body by its head, turning it left and right, before reaching into the water for a decent sized rock. She set the body into a dip in the water's soil before covering it with the rock, insuring it wouldn't rise and be found. Sure it was secure, she rinsed her hands.
"Gianna! I've the cloth!"
Gianna turned at the waist and looked at her sister, remorseful. "I'm sorry, Kid."
Gemma slowed in her approach, gaze moving from her shawl nest at the base of the tree, then to Gianna and her empty hands. "Where'd the baby birdie go?"
"Her wing really wasn't broken. I sprinkled some water on her to get her cleaned up and she hopped out of my hand and flew off."
Gemma's mouth pulled into a deep frown, "But I wanted to clean the birdie."
Gianna sighed, reaching out, "I know, Hon. I'm sorry, c'mere." She embraced the girl and pressed a kiss to her shoulder, "But at least she's okay. She went up into the tree, so she likely just went back to her siblings."
Gemma sighed but nodded, relenting. "Okay. That's good. Maybe I'll see her again."
Gianna laughed, ruffling the girl's curls, "Most likely, Hon. Wanna go for a swim."
The seven-year-old perked up at that, "Yes! We can play frisbee!"
"Sounds good to me, Kid. C'mon,"

I'm getting into the Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon fandom, right.
Just binge watched HOTD and currently 20 minutes into the first episode of GOT as I scroll Tumblr about HOTD.
Tell me WHY people like Aemond 😭 why is there so many fawning over him and writing about him 😭😭😭 he's a certified asshole and not one I'd like to see redeemed.
He's not only an enabler and a bully, but just a bitch. Has a superiority complex out the hizzow that isn't even based on anything except his dragon, which Rhaena should have got IMO but TBH fair is fair, he showed initiative IG... Anyway. He's just a dick 😭 he contributes nothing and the war to follow in season 2 will largely be his fault.
HE KILLED A LITTLE BOY. HIS NEPHEW
WHO WAS INCESSANT UPON NOT FIGHTING HIM UNTIL CORNERED
A BOY
He's a bitch and a coward. Literally picking on those smaller then him.
What the fuck.
