Then she had surprised him with the informality that she always addressed him with. Hearing his name fall from her tiers elicited some sort of sweet, vengeful satisfaction–satisfaction that he was being recognized, finally by someone who saw him as Dorian. Not as the first prince of fotia, or the walking sex on a stick, or Blaise. No one seemed to recognize that hunger in Dorian’s eyes to be recognised as an entity of his own, but here was this servant girl who had done exactly what he always wanted others to do. 

“We’ll see about that.”  Hye spoke while letting out a sigh at his words and cheeky expression “A safe distance between you and me, that’s what it is.” She said before adding “A meter or so will do...or better a kilometer” The last words were said as a wispher yet she wasn’t sure if he was close enough to hear it, “Gee thanks, the words every girl wishes to hear. ” Hye complained with a roll of her eyes at the comparison between her and his flings. “You ain’t getting a kiss if that’s what you are aiming for.” She replied almost instantly to him.  “Oh so now you like me?” Hye asked in disbelief to his words.

Dorian was confusing her and she didn’t like it at all, his way of addressing him was making her mind torn between thinking it was him teasing her or actually using it as a term of endearment special for her. Arching her eyebrow as she listened to his words while eyeing the male carefully trying to understand what his intentions where from saying all of that. Her brown orbs never looking away from him only widening at his suggestion before it was replaced by a frown. “...friends? you want to be friends?” She asked again, being left even more confused by his last words yet she kept quiet to hear his explanation. 

That day was certainly odd for Hye and, for the first time, she was speechless because of him. The girl was torn between the usual her and the careful her when she was near Dorian because of such words, was this his new idea to flirt or was he pulling her leg or maybe he was being sincere with her this time? Hye wasn’t sure of what to do nor say this time, the gentle part of herself wanting to believe in the sincerity she had seen through his eyes yet her pride refusing to give in so easily and so she said the first thing that came to her mind “If we become friends, will you stop all this flirting and chasing, Dorian?” She asked testing him and his reaction.

Her angel eyes saw the good in many devils. Trust me, she knew with who she was dancing with the entire time. She just chose to see the good in everybody. I personaly don’t think she should change that about herself. It’s possible her energy could even bring out the best in the devil.

Hye wasn’t sure why on earth she asked such question, a soft pink tinted her cheeks as she waited for his reply. The woman had been reading about such romantic topics earlier that day and being the hopless romatic she was, the idea got stuck on her head and as childish as it sounded Hye wished it to be true. At his question the girl shrugged. “I want to believe it’s true” She replied honestly though still embarrassed.

As they walked, Hye listened carefully to what he had to say, actually curious about the view he had on the whole thing.She nodded from time to time to show that she was still listening while she struggled with what she was carrying yet the object in her hands wasn’t what had her attention, it was him. “Oh?” She said surprised when he stopped talking to offer her help. “Thank you.” She smiled at him before they continued walking and the conversation.

“I’ve never thought of it like that” She said in a soft voice, he had given her so much to think over “I guess it’s not as simple as I though.” Hye offered him a small smile as she spoke. “I didn’t know you were so deep Florent”

so the heart always come first than the mind—isn’t that how it suppose to be? because in the end, mankind are bound to feel something, they can’t help but to feel; the happy, the sad, the guilt, and almost everything the world has become. it expect one to feel too much, yet sometimes too little; barely in the between, it is a grace from above and only happened to those it chosen. but they are still young, emotions are meant to take it place on the top priority and kicking away those in its way; such as logical reasoning, and others.

soulmates does ring a bell to florent. it surely feel weird when it roll in his tongue, or slips in his mind– just how many years has it been for him to think of it.

“do you?” florent asks, with a pure, genuine curiosity gleaming on his eyes. a man full of curiosity yet he knows his boundary. he doesn’t ask much more and keep walking side by side with her.

“romantic, isn’t it? the very idea of having part of your soul in a form of someone that might understand you; with or without your flaws that mimicked yours. for the better, for the worst. one who will hold your hand with so much—so much meaning even if its coming from the simplest things such as that. maybe that’s what we’re looking for.”

what are we looking for? some looking for fame, poverty, safety, happiness—everything. isn’t that what human’s biggest guilt? greed? of wanting all and not realising it might have been unfair and unreasonable. but really, what is he looking for in a soulmate?

“we long for someone who will understand us. the very low life us, the filled with flaws us, the clinging on the edge of the cliff us, the almost giving up because the world is too cruel for those with delicate heart us—” he stops, helping the maid with her belonging after stealing a glance and taking a signal of how it must have been a little heavy for her to carry with her two delicate hands. “—miss bae, may i?—”

and he continues. “—i used to believe it too: soulmates,”

“but i thought of so many, if not too many, what ifs in my sleepless nights. of what if the part of my soul is still intact within me, that there will be no one out there to understand me but myself. there will be no part of my soul in a form of anyone in this world, just me; all alone by myself in this big bad world. it’s kind of sad, a little tragic what if, isn’t it?” a dry laughter slips past between his rosy lips. “you are left with one option, the only option we are all should understand that being alone is not a bad thing—or i should have phrase it as: to understand oneself is not a bad thing. to accept yourself and to stand up for yourself.”

then another smile blooms from him. 

“but if there is a soulmate, then i hope for the best and happiness for them.”

A weird think to say, Hye was sure, yet it was something she wished to say to Cain since in her mind those words were something that people assumed the rest of the people or friends knew as if there were no need of words for something obvious, like telling someone how much they meant to you or the love you had for them yet to her everything, especially such things, should be voiced. Telling them from your own mouth instead of assuming things and hoping for the best. Hye chuckled at his automatic response yet she was glad she wasn’t questioned on why she said such things.

Hye smiled thankful for his words, people often criticized or questioned her for the choice she did of working in the palace as a chambermaid, most of them didn’t understand the way her family (or at least most of it) viewed the traditions and how much it meant to them but he did. He understood and those words made her feel at ease. “Thank you” She smiled at him

“Of course there isn’t.” Its an automatic reflex–a response that has been ingrained in him like a clockwork of repetitions, but Hye is someone that he knows. They’re similar, having served their own masters faithfully, and without any further questions or qualms. 

He admires her tenacity, as well as the kindness and gentleness. Perhaps its the purity that draws him to her, or the tradition that they share the same scope or similar scopes of work and responsibilities that they both need to have towards their royals.

“There’s nothing wrong with you either.” Cain’s socially awkward, but a sweet, dimpled smile glitters its way through to Hye as he grins, the shade of stoicness that usually encased his very self slipping away completely for a momentary moment of impish mischief.

“And no–not that I’m out of people to annoy.” He rolled his eyes at the young maid. “God, Hye–please, if I were to say the quantity of annoying people that I could very well annoy, I would say that there would be an infinity list trailing all the way down to the depths of hell. But no.” Dorian smirked at her, fingers tilting her chin upwards as he leaned in, lips nearly ghosting her own as he smiled softly at her. “You merely interest me, Hye. And when I’m interested, I don’t let go of that interest until it wanes. Which as blissful as that sounds–isn’t going to be anytime soon.”

Hye’s eyes widened slightly at his reply, out of everything she said did he only focused on her using his name to address him before composing herself with a roll of her eyes rejecting calling his name “Don’t let it get to your head, Prince Dorian” She spoke using a formal tone giving him a smile at the end, remembering where they were and how many eyes and ears were around them.

To say that Hye wasn’t surprised by his actions would be an understatment for she was shocked by the placing of his hand and the words addressed to her. “What?” She didn’t understand, why call her Princess, something she was far from being and he knew it very well, she was a servant of those who owned such title yet he called her that. Hye was about to push his hand off her once again when he spoke once again, she hadn’t realized it until he pointed out making her look back to the stairs,the woman rolled her eyes once more at his teasing before she was flushed against his chest her hands instantly flying to it as if to try and get some space between the two, certainly if she was surprised before now Hye was shocked by his actions, what on earth was he doing? She wasn’t sure yet she gladly took a step away from him when he let go of her. “So touchy” Hye complained in a soft voice.

“Why do I feel that I’m the number one on that list?” She mumbled as he spoke about how long his list really was. Hye looked up glaring at him by his actions, it was starting to piss her off how into physical contact he was that day. His lips far too close to her own for her liking still she only rolled her eyes “Of course that would be my luck” She spoke before she pushed him by the forehead with her finger trying to make some space between the two. “Personal space, ever heard of it?” She asked annoyed by how close he was to her lips, before returning to replying to his words after snorting “As if...You will find a new toy soon” Hye spoke crossing her arms over her chest, “So until then please keep your hands to yourself.” She knew very well about his nature and his intentions yet she refused to be part of it, she refused to be one more of his succesful coquests, that was why the usual kind and innocent hye used her tongue as a weapon against the boy. They were different she was searching for love yet he lived for lust. “Sounds good?” She smiled.

~ The greatest thing ever could happen to me ~

Lately for the pass few days she has been busy with many things from her studies to even her “parents” putting her to work with different things in the kingdom that she needed to learn. Due to her busy schedule Ruby really haven’t have time to herself or to even hang out with her best friend, she was the only one that Ruby could actually call her best friend the two grew up together and would always watched over each other whenever the two just want to go out and have fun. 

Entering her room she noticed her friend so focused into her work that Hye didn’t even noticed Ruby walking into her room which made her smile a little. Closing the door behind her was when the other, watching a smile form on her best friends face she walked closer towards her seeing the flowers which she was arranging in a vase. “Yes of course, they are very pretty.” Ruby replied, it been so long since the two could have time like this where it was only the two of them. Sitting down on her bed the princess let out a sigh as she stared at Hye once again. “It was very tiring as usually. For some reason they really have me working hard lately. How about we go somewhere later on? Come to Areti with me.”

“Yay!” She spoke without realizing, Hye smiled happy by the reply of Ruby, glad that she liked the little surprise she had done for her that day. Truth was, Hye knew how hard being a princess was, it wasn’t only beautiful dresses and balls, there was so much more behind it with tons of hard work and pressure placed on their shoulders and sadly, Hye knew she couldn’t help her best friend in most of her duties yet she tried to ease the weight that was on her shoulders as much as she could by sharing it and trying to get her mind of things, just like now. 

Now sitting on the bed, it felt like a throwback in time when the responsabilities were less and the laughter and happy days were more. A pout formed on her face as she heard about her day yet she still tried to make the mood lighter “That’s because you are awesome. They can’t get enough of you” She spoke smiling at her and giving her a light wink before nodding her head enthusiastically at her words. “I would love to go with you!” She spoke clearly happy. “We can do anything you want and i will buy you something good!”

Hye had been working on a new set of flowers to decorate Ruby’s room, it wasn’t part of her job yet it was one of her hobbies and she had always loved to make some bouquets for her, while one was a princess the other one was simply a maid and so gifting her with flower sets made by her were the best thing she could give Ruby for being her best friend in the whole world, the two of them had grown up together and watched over each others backs.

The woman had been so focused on her work that she didn’t realize that the princess walked into her chamber until she heard the sound of the door closing making her look towards it, the smile still placed on her face. “Good afternoon” She greeted happily as she stood next to one of her arrangments. “Do you like it?” Hye spoke, happy that it was only the two of them, it felt more familiar like that, as if they weren’t from different words. Hye walked towards her to take her by the hand and pull her to sit down on Ruby’s bed. “How was your day?” She asked.

Hye had come with the Nams once again, serving them as best as she could with a bright smile decorating her features. Moving around the room while bringing things for her royals or talking and laughing with her best friend, Hye was actually enjoying her time that was until him came to the picture.

“Not again” Was all she could say before she found herself on the presence of the prince, leting out a groan. All previous trace of happiness was gone. Hye detested when she was cornered in public by him, like now. Dorian was royalty while she was only a maid, he might not be from the family she served but she knew her place and in the whole thing and how anything she did was also related to the people she worked for and so she did the best she could and ran away in the most subtle way as soon as her eyes landed on him yet it didn’t seem to work this time since she was stuck with him.

 Rolling her eyes at his words, the female took his hand that was by her face holding it tightly as the tried to push it away from her only to let it go almost instantly as if the simple touch was burning her. “Should I get someone to bring you some tissues for you, then?” She asked blinking a couple of times while looking at him innocently. Her eyes moved around them trying to see a escape for her. “What to you want Dorian? Are you out of people to annoy?” Hye spoke while taking small step back, trying to keep distance between the two.

She had to be one of the greatest, toughest conquest that Dorian had ever encountered. Dorian had always prided himself in him being able to score easily with almost any or every person that he had came across and desired to fuck with, but this woman–beautiful and innocently sweet–kinda frustrated him to no end. 

Dorian adjusted his collar loosely, blinking his auburn eyes as they tracked every movement of the woman’s like a hunter was to its prey, teeth embedded lightly in his lower tiers as he fought off a smile, admiring the curve and shape of the woman’s body with an ambiguous hum to his lips. 

Ohhh–she was wondrous. So innocent, so like an untainted flower that Dorian desired with a burning ache to simply reach out his hand and taint it with his colours, crumbling each petal of innocence and purity beneath his slender digits. Boots hitting the ground with resolution, Dorian got to his feet, the half tied shoe laces of his boots clacking against the ground with a strange purpose as he strode towards the nam’s chambermaid, a coy smile on his lips, feet lightly blocking her way as he stooped to peer slightly at her.

“I hope you haven’t been avoiding me, Hye.” He grinned, his intentions enigmatic but flirty as his fingers reached out to graze her chin teasingly. “I’d be so sad if you were.” He gave her a slight pout, leaning lazily on the railings of the stairs as he blocked the rest of her way with the slight lean of his body.

Hello wonderful people!! IM SO FREAKING EXCITED TO BE HERE!!! Anyway let me introduce you to my human puppy who has the beauty of a princess pulled out from a fairytale but the sharpest tongue: Bae Deokhye (Hye), the youngest of her fam!  her blog is still under construction (yay procrastination) Under the cut you will be able to read small bullet points about my kiddo and if you like this I will slide into your IM begging for plots! 

Daughter of a retired guard (a loyal to the core man who knows/wants nothing more than to serve the crown) and a lovely mother.

So she was raised with the same ideals as her father, loyal to the Nams yet her mother’s free spirit and soft personality were also thrown in her live making her a weird mix of the two of them.

Deokhye is quite soft-hearted and kind, the one to treat everyone with the same kindness friend or foe, royal or civilian or servant a smile always present on her features. Friendly yet smart as well, faithful to those close to her yet faithless to her current family situation. The creator of brilliant ways to answer back when pushed to her limit and opinionated when she is at home.

Her family was quite loving and sweet while she grew up but that changed when her father stated meddling in her big sister’s life wanting her to be part of the castle, just like him, something she didn’t like at all and so her rebellion began and his attention shifted to the youngest one.

He was harder with her making sure there was no mistake made as she learnt how to behave like a proper lady as well as know everything  she needed to as a lady of the bedchamber and she did everything to please him, she learnt everything by heart and she was great yet she was still a child.

Became the lady of the bedchamber for the Nams as soon as she was old enough. She did her best to make her father proud in hopes of making the shattered home a loving one again yet as time passed she lost hope and only did her job like she was supposed to.

A dreamer who doesn’t know of what she should dream, being a lady of the bedchamber is all she knows and that was her biggest dream back in the day yet now she finds herself thinking of what ifs more than not.
