Gif loop of @/arythusas hyde tumbling down (a roof probably) via that rolling girl meme that was popular 2017-2020
this was a bit of a nightmare to color <\3 (thank god for r&b!!!)though I enjoyed experimenting with my animation,,,This was actually a set of frames from a much larger tgs related animation I made when I was 12ish 13 ish (omg…) and cleaning my old FLIPACLIP files, I decided to finish it!

Day 14 of my Women’s History Month art challenge! (Six days late :,D)
Rachel Pidgley from The Glass Scientists by @arythusa !! I LOVE tgs, it got me really into Jekyll and Hyde as a whole, and it’s also been a big art inspiration for me these past few years. Rachel is great, she’s a very fun, interesting character, and love that she seems to get along with (almost) everyone. The background is based on her kitchen, specifically what’s visible of it on page 15 of chapter 3, since I love the colors and the warm atmosphere, it looks very cozy in there :]

I stumbled across @arythusa’s The Glass Scientists webcomic early this year and fell in love, so I animated a little scene for fun 🧪
Tumblr media
I built a Front and 3/4 Front Jekyll and Hyde rig (fun fact, they’re one rig!) and animated them in Toon Boom Harmony, HalluciLanyon spawning and getting harpooned is a tweaked version of that rig, and him getting bodied was drawn in Procreate.  The layout was also made in Harmony. The audio is from the movie Drop Dead Fred.
Tumblr media
I used the comic itself as the ‘model sheet’ to build the rig off of- used various panels for their heights and body parts in place of character, hand, mouth, etc sheets, so many pieces are pulled right from the pages. I also got to experiment with compositing, which was fun!
The art and story of this comic hooked me and I’m so excited to see where it goes! ❣️

I discovered TGS in June 2021. I was obsessed with Jekyll and Hyde since December 2020, and saw an animatic of TGS on YouTube, and clicked the link in the description that brought me to the comic. The Glass Scientists is a story that greatly impacted my artwork and creativity.
In September 2021, I posted my first TGS fan animation, and in January 2022, I posted a video of me animating bits of the comic. Although they are old (and a bit jarring to watch now,) they still hold a place in my heart because I remember the passion and excitement I had animating them. I remember when Sage announced the comic was being published in book form. I was in my math class, and I told my friend who sat next to me. I saw so excited, but it also reminded me that the comic wasn't something that was going to last forever, so I had to enjoy it while it was still going.
An announcement of an interview with Sage on discord was made, and I joined the server. This was the very first time interacting with the fan base, and on the same day I posted my Confrontation animatic, which now has over 43 thousand views, which is INSANE! When I finished the animatic, I began working on the Doctor Sunshine is Dead animation, which was the first fully animated thing I made for TGS. The DSIS animation is still one of my favorite things I have ever animated, and I am so proud of how it turned out. When that was done I began working on my TGS animated part 2 video, and even got some voice actors to make it seem like an animated show.
When I joined this fandom, I was introduced to many incredible artists, voice actors, theorists, and commenters, and even though I don't talk to many of you guys much, I just wanted to say I think all of you are incredibly talented people and it's been a pleasure to be a part of this fandom with you.
Happy 10 years of TGS, hopefully 10 years in the future there will still be people talking about this comic!
