I understand that the lady said smth that's v tasteless to a lot of you but if a terf is threatening to dox her and everyone that interacted with the post in order to lead an irl harassment campaign, you have to set that disgust aside for 2 seconds. You can roll your eyes at the edgy thing but still understand that an exterminationist bigot threatening to leverage a system that's stacked against people like her and yourself is far far more concerning than a trans woman being tasteless online, especially given that we're comparing smth with actual hugely negative material consequences for a trans woman with a woman being edgy.

I’m going to phrase this very carefully because with the recent banwave against transfemmes, I don’t want this getting picked up and used to harass specific accounts off the site. I will not be showing examples, elaborating on what prompts this, or linking due to current site tensions.

Transfemmes, when you are willing to excuse explicit racism, or something based out of extensive racism, to “have solidarity with all transfeminized people”, you are inherently excluding solidarity with the vast amount of nonwhite transfeminized individuals. It is possible to have solidarity with individual transfeminized people without excusing racism.

White transfemmes specifically, I understand the urge to close ranks when there is a real OR perceived threat to transfemmes and defend by any means necessary. We all want to protect our sisters. But y’all gotta stop leaning on accepting and using soft white supremacist tools the second you feel that sense of threat.

ill take a break from grief posting to say that. there is a guy who outright threatens to harm trans women, that even said he should be allowed to hunt trans women. he still has his account. there are accounts completely dedicated to lying about transfems, misconstruing anything they say or do to motivate people to harass them en mass. they still have their accounts. there are white supremacists that get to keep their accounts, there are stalkers that violate the terms of service and block evade that get to keep their accounts, there are men who get to have blogs full of the most hardcore kink imaginable and they get to keep their accounts.

but isuggestforcefem is nuked cuz of....suggesting forcefem? for being a positive influence for transfems and encouraging them to transition? for wanting a better world for women and closeted trans women?

it's very on the nose what kind of site this is. misogynistic. transphobic. racist. we've known this for a long time. but it never stops feeling shocking.

we've built our own digital communities. if you don't have ways to contact your friends off tumblr, get that contact info. check in on each other. take care of each other. help each other where you can. the world is cruel, tumblr isn't any different. no one's going to help us but ourselves.

i get discriminated against regardless of if my natural hair is out or not bc the very idea of black ppl doing anything with our hair is both politicized and constantly dehumanized, i get followed in stores when i wear twist, i get harassed by strangers asking “is that all yours” trying to put their hands on me when i wear wigs, i get masculinized and seen as a threat with a fro out, i get assumed to be stupid / unable to understand english with braids, and lord forbid i cover it with a bonnet or durag then it dont matter if im nice or not imma seen as a lazy sloppy criminal, black existence is not treated as neutral ever, until u understand that ur never going to unlearn these biases u have over our hair or even just the absence of our hair
