Firework Flowers in Our New Watercolor Workshop

Good morning!

I’m so excited to share with you all the beautiful works of watercolor art that the ladies in our Monday Night Muse Watercolor Workshop completed during our first meeting yesterday evening. I am blown away by their creativity and color! Each of our artists really has such an individual style and interpretation of the project. It’s so inspiring to watch them work!

We enjoyed nibbling on some appetizers and sipping some drinks while we worked, laughed, shared stories and just had a plain ol’ great time together! What a great group! I can’t wait to see them again!

Whimsical Watercolors Wrap Up

Monday morning was our last meeting for our Whimsical Watercolors class and I’m sad it’s over! We had such a wonderful time meeting each week and painting together. The strides that these ladies have made during their time in class is epic!

Last week we worked on lakeside landscapes both in class and for at home work. As you can see from the photos above, my sweet CH did a fabulous job on her landscapes! The gorgeous color and textures that she created are stunning!

Monday morning we worked on colorful owls and it’s amazing to see the personalities that evolved from each painting. EC and CH did a phenomenal job painting their beautiful owls! And I love the colors that they chose! Stunning!

Doodle Bugs Drawing Video

Hello my dear fellow artsy folks!

Happy Monday!

I was thinking about bugs this weekend as I worked a bit in my garden. And then I remembered that I made this video a while back, sharing my process for doodling bugs onto recycled envelopes. Such a good way to recycle and get some really fabulous patterns into our artwork.

Treat Yourself to an Online Watercolor Spring Wreath Art Class

It’s that time of year, thankfully, when the snow has melted and the birds and buds are starting to make their entrance along with sunnier days and warmer weather! Using watercolors and a few other supplies, we’ll paint a lovely Spring themed wreath painting that you can use in journals, framed on the wall, for greeting cards or whatever else you can dream up!

Whimsical Watercolor Wonders

Every time I have a regularly scheduled class, I look forward to the first few minutes of everyone arriving so I can see all the beautiful paintings they’ve worked on for “homework.” And yesterday was no surprise that the Whimsical Watercolor students blew my socks off with their doodles and paintings! Take a look:

Aren’t they just lovely? It never ceases to amaze me how the same project can be translated so differently among students. I love their use of color and their interpretations are stunning! Way to go, ladies!

Watercolor Bar Mitzvah Card

Over the weekend, my son was graciously invited to a classmate’s Bar Mitzvah. Nobody in my family has ever attended one, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Luckily, we’ve got a few friends (and a couple of art students) that know the ropes when it comes to such a special event so they walked us through the process. And it was super interesting. I’m actually bummed I didn’t get invited! My kiddo said it was really interesting to listen to the ceremony and watch his classmate read from the torah, reciting difficult passages. And both the luncheon and afterparties were more on the scale of a wedding is what he said. Tons of food, dancing, laughs, desserts.

From the sounds of it once he got home to seeing all the photos taken, it sure did look like a fabulous event!

I ended up painting this kiddo a card because I wanted to make something special for him (even though I never have even met this kid nor his family). And I’m happy with how it turned out, being the first time I’ve ever created one! Come take a look at the process and final result.
