Monografía

Yes, the title, in spanish but just saw how my friend Micaela posted something, and eventhough it's 1:15 am and I'm dying while reading about our shitty economy 50 years ago, just decided to post you my super-mega-extra amazing idea for my extended essay. I send this to a friend, and again it's suuuper late so, here you have the explanation of my EE in spanish!! Yo estoy en yoga desde hace ya como seis meses entonces hay una clase en específico que es de relajación (yinyoga) y usualmente en esa clase yo pienso mucho sobre la vida (recuerden, mi vida es el IB) entonces yo estoy pensando sobre la monografía, especificamente cuál va a ser el tema que voy a usar, y empiezan a tocar los cuencos tibetanos, que son como cuenquitos de metal y tienen algo como lo del pilón que se usa para machacar que también es de metal lo que se hace es que lo de machacar los rozan con los bordes del cuenco y produce un sonido y esta peobado que estos ayudan mucho para la relajación. Pero también hay grabaciones de los sonidos que produce y eso a mí me molesta mucho, más que nada detesto esas grabaciones, porque no me relaja ni nada los sonidos me parecen hasta irritantes. Asi que decidí que haré un experimento con niñas de noveno porque el estres que nosotros llevamos que (cito a María del Mar) "NO ES NORMAL". En el experimento planeare una clase de yoga y antes de la clase y después de la clase les hare un mini chequeo médico donde les mediré el ritmo cardíaco, la presión arterial y el ritmo de la respiración para relacionarlo al estado de relajación del cuerpo. Obviamente no dare yo la clase, contratare a un yogui para que cree una rutina y esta sea la que se haga en las clases, se daran dos clases: 1. La primera sera con las grabaciones de los cuencos tibetanos (una semana después) 2. La segunda clase será con el sonido original de los cuencls tibetanos *** Ambos sonidos se intentara que sea una replica. Al final relacionare las conclusiones de los mini chequeos médicos y puuufff tengo mi monogragia de biologia listaaa!! Eso si creo tengo que abordar el tema de comprimir sonidos pero eso es física asi que no se, y por lo tanto tal vez cambie la cantidad de clases de yoga o tal vez tenga que grabar a los cuencos tibetanos con un microfono polifonico. Classes with Mr. P

As you may know, I’m taking HL with Mr. Peña, classes with him are productive, we always have a project or an activity, last month (December) every single tuesday we had an exam of different chapters from the novel Othello, usually one, or two chapters per exam, the exams in general were easy, so usually we finished in half an hour or 20 minutes, the rest of the class we were doing activities related to the next chapter we were going to read.

Before the “Othello Unit” we had a unit related to poverty and how to end it, we studied different Microcredit organizations.

Right know we are studying Climate Change, how the sea level was risen and the normal average temperature has increased 2 degrees, a fact that was determined not long time ago was that in 2100 the sea level will have risen 23 inches and the global temperature 8 degrees, these facts are extremely alarming, so right know we are creating a project of how we can not exactly stop this, but how we can decrease these predicted numbers So basically is interesting classes with Mr. P, you just have to pay atention and if you end the activities and projects (he gives enough time) in class, you are english-homework freee!! A dream come true for a IB student❤

Hello!! I've been disconnected for a while!! first of all week ago I landed in my little island, I was visiting Spain and all my spanish family, my cousins they were all soooo grown, and I've missed them soo much!!! The first day I saw them we were all super shy but the next day, I was on snap mode (I have a vice with snap, many of you know that) the thing is that it created a connection, my little cousin Alejandro (he is 4 months younger than me) was just horrified with the fact that I had a cellphone on my hand, because at any moment the possibility of me recording him was around 70%. The best thing of me making a connection with Alejandro again is that he is a great photographer, he is in particular photography with professional photographers, but the best thing is that he doesn't have to pay not a cent, is a whole organization that has as a purpose to promote photography as a passion {fact, after this time, the last time that I saw my spanish family it was 2 years ago, we usually travel every year}. So Alejandro and I were always making plans for photography, we had 2 plans: 1. While we were in Valdelinares, we were going to walk all the way up the beginners ski slope, but by the side where peope weren't skiing. After that we were going to take chair lift, all the way up to the ski slope for very advanced people, the summit of that mountain was 2,000 meters, and the plan was to see what we had around, take pictures and then go all the way down skiing, yes all that time we had the skii boots and our skii in hand, including camera and tripod, each one; the plan was a holy mess, but the worst part was that the only way to be back on time (before 5pm) was skiing a 50 degrees ski slope, I like to skii but I DON'T PLAY WITH THAT, this was my 3rd time ever skiing, how I was supposed to skii a black ski slope? I had the cameraa!! I certainly wasn't going to put that on risk, I mean, Are we crazy? Well, my cousin is, he did the whole plan, he has more experience skiing than me so he didn't crushed the camera that he had on the backpack. 2. The result you see up here, this plan is also very dangerous, we were in an old town called Alcoi/Alcoy, is in 1hr away from where I was staying, and Alejandro and I took the 1hr bus, frist of all we took the last row of the bus so we had 5 sits, but he decided that he owned 4 out of 5 (yeah, he was the "owner" of those sits) Then we got to Alcoy, we had no idea where to eat, what, the plan, anything, we had 40 euros and Google Maps, suddenly he knows where he is, so I just followed him because I was reaaaally lost, I knew we weren't on the right direction when we had a whole lonely road across, it was really weird because it was the day before "Dia de Reyes", the day with the "Cabalgata", and Alcoy is famous because it possesses the oldest "Cabalgata" in Spain, it is 125 years old and has no sponsorship, is beautiful because is pure and you will never see a carriage of "El Corte Ingles" or any other big company. So we where in Alcoy alone and then we realize we are in the most dangerous place of all Alcoy, my cousin freaked out, we started telling me that someone was going to rob us, I started taking pictures and pictures, and the panic went away, we where in love with the beautiful disaster we had right there, it was pure chaos but at the same time it had an order; I was astonished, so many details, it was the mother of chaos with such a singular beauty, I have no words to describe the place where I was, until we see one guy that was staring at us constantly, we saw them and immediately we changed the road, same thing, beautifully disorganized, and then a bum sitting in middle of the road, he wasn't staring at us so Alejandro decided to take pictures of him, I wasn't able because I have a lens with a very limited zoom in, Alejandro at the beginning was dealing with ISO, velocity and diaphragm, then he took one photo, ant the exact moment he was about to take the second photo because he didn't like the first photo the bum looked at us, so we pretended to be taking pictures of the building next to the bum. No conclusion paragraph because I'm in middle of my break (yes IB exists and I have to work). Love you all!! Okayyy!! We all know that we barely have time buuut, right now in 3 subdivisions I'm going to explain you my last 3 shoots. 1. {Pictures 1-4} Based on urban ambience and nature, did this shoot las monday 5 in middle of the class on the rooftop. 2. {Pictures 5-6} Christmasy vibes, we had to do a christms shoot, did this two weeks ago inthe studio. 3. {Pictures 7-9} Inspirated in the "International Day for the prevention of Violence to Women", it was a homework where we were able to choose which type of photography we were going to develop in the shoot, I choose conceptual photography (MY FOREVER FAVORITE). Did this homework 2 weeks ago. Enjoy life! And hopefully y'all do well in Lomachichi's exam!!

Tomorrow I will finally leavee!! We land at midday and go directly to the hotel, next day we visit Princeton's Campus and then shopping, that same night is the Opening Ceremony and then start Committee Session I. And then next day (Friday) 2 Committees Sessions, but the hard work comes with the Saturday, we like to call the quantity of Committee Sessions "Chinese Torture". From 10:00 am to 6:30 with two breaks of 30 minutes and a lunch break (2h). Best day Sun-day (even though NYC it's going to be rainy and cloudy) because we leave to NYC!! We have a ride in a limousine, we will visit Times Square and the Empire State. Comes Monday with the most beautiful outfit I will ever wear for the UN Headquarters visit. Later I'll show you everything. Enjoy lifee!!

Tomorrow is mondayy!! Which means that I have photography class, so usually I have to hand to the teacher between 3-8 photos depending in what she asks. But tomorrow is a special monday is more *OH FCK* because now we have the other teacher, he is specialized in ilumination (my weakness) so, 1. we weren't supposed to edit the photos and 2. I didn't know that so 3. I'm kind of f*cked up because I can't reverse what I've done. Apart from my crisis he is super tough, every detail counts, for example: for the photos with the candies I was cleaning the little sugar crystals because I was nervous that the the light reflected in those little crystals and everything went wrong, I was panicking while taking thos pictures. But I also loved to take those pictures because I was able to express my feelings, I've never expressed my feelings clearly and with those pictures it was magical, I've never been so happy while creating art and hopefully I'm able to take more pictures like those. Good byeee my loveees!! PS. -1 for PMUNC!! (I'm beyond exiteeeedd!!)

📅 November 16. We leave this country and land in the United States. In one week we will visit Princeton University, United Nations Headquarters and have the privilege of participate in the PMUNC (Princeton Model of United Nations Conference). Most of us (including me, and my partner Patricia) will represent the Syrian Arab Republic, even though we have companions that will represent USA in Security Council. Well, that was all formal and 💩, but the thing is that with the position papers I've felt so stressed, but I have to say that I'm proud of our work (patricia and mine) 11 days we've had 7 monthly exams, lots of work and 2 position papers (worst thing ever). If y'all don't know what a position paper is: torture a.k.a. an essay in which you have to summarize the topic that you will have to discuss during the working sessions, the position of your country in this theme, and finally solution (kind of like hell). It sounds horrible because it is, but it's worth it, after all you learn a lot about your country and its position, and helps you a lot in middle of the working sessions. Right know Patricia and I are (postion paper) stress-relief but know comes the other part, prepare arguments for the few hours that at the 4th working session (second day of the MUN) happens where nobody has nothing to say and people just start talking about irrelevant sub-themes. We need those arguments so we can out of nowhere pull out a interesting theme that people will want to talk about, but, how one of these arguments can become interesting: by pointing out a mistake made by your enemy. Well good night fellas!! Have fun and enjoy life I'll go back to no-sleep yes-syria's medical healthcare is sh*t. Ohhh!! I didn't told you!! Okay: Patricia and I represent Syrian in the WHO (World Health Organization) it is super interesting because the main theme is about how to respond to different disasters (anthropological {caused by men} and natural), this relates to medical health a lot, because if you don't have a "nice" medical healthcare how are you going to respond to a disaster? By external humanitarian aid, so what we need to discuss is how and who is going to provide the help. PS. I will film a few videos of us in the middle of the MUN, or sleppy at 2 a.m. working, and everynight I will try to report you of what we've done during the day. Syria's fact: there are only 72 ambulances actually working in the capital of Syria (Damasco) and these ambulances leave the patients in hospitals, only 42% of the hospitals in Syria are working, and gotta say they are working poorly because of the super population in the hospitals and lack of medicines.

Hello guyyss!! Yes it is 2:00am and no, I didn't program this post, yes I went to sleep at 2:00 am, first why? because chemistry is a science, that is why and I have no I idea how I haven't learned or at least memorized the reaction about "electrolisis del agua". Well let me drop the whole "chemistry theme" because I'm here to talk about photography AGAIN, because I love photography and I want to study photography in SCAD university (I already have my life plan for the next two years and it is beautiful, it is beyond goals!!). So the here I uploaded 3 photos, 1 of me recreating a pose because apparently my sister and I are almost twins, and my friend Beky from the class saw a picture of my sister that was part of the homework (because of minor rights I am not allowed to post the picture) and she forced me to recreate the same pose, so the class was able to compare us. And the other two pictures are form a montage of the poster of "Black Swan" it was homework to bring all the materials to recreate a poster of a movie an ours was legit. Well Good Night/Morning!!
