Thinking about having a big scary military gf JAJANSNSMS guys Simon Riley is so Butch lesbian coded I'm sorry the mask doesn't make it ANY BETTER like u guys don't know what's behind there and she's not telling youuuu i reckon her name wld be Simone but cuz of her thick accent everyone misheard her and she never corrected them
Anyways craving a slow burn fic with Simone so bad so I'm gonna write one myself and then forget about it so I can be like "wow I wrote this?"
A/n: sorry if this is boring it’s not as good as I wanted it to be (😢better at writing porn w no plot) I want a nice slow burn tho soooo hm Imk if this is too rushed? It's only like 2k words but l'd like to aim for 3k I just wanted to get the base of their relationship established ya know
I’d imagine she met you after getting home from deployment being gone for well over 6 months. A lot had changed in her area, and she was surprised to see you working at her favorite cafe. Pink apron tied around your waist, hair sticking to your cheeks as you hurriedly tried to get everyone’s order out.
Granted, she only went once every time she got home from missions (as a treat ofc she has to stay toned), so who knows how long you’d actually been working there. Eyeing you, she takes a seat in the far corner of the cafe, waiting for the line to die down before she went and ordered, watching as you worked and kindly chatted with everyone.
After 15 minutes or so, the cafe had cleared out a lot, and Simone got up, walking over to the counter, seemingly a little more eager than she’d expected from herself. Turning around, your eyes trailed her up and down before landing on her own as you smiled up at her.
“Hi! Welcome in, what can I get for you?”
Stoic expression on her face, your smile slightly faltered as she glared down at you, thinking of a reply. And she assumed it was because of her brooding silence she was used to it making others uncomfortable but she couldn’t deny this time it felt a little bothersome. As she tried to work up the courage to speak, she wasn’t used to being speechless on accident but she ignored the weird feeling in her stomach as she finally spoke up:
“Black coffee, no sugar,” she mumbles as she looks down at you, taking the time to admire you, watching as you enter her order into the system.
A moment of silence passes by, and she shifts before quietly speaking again.
“Ya new ‘ere?”
She sounded like she was asking out of boredom, mask covering the lower half of her face made it hard to tell, but her eyes seemed cold and distant even as she engaged in conversation.
“Ye, I’ve just moved ’round while back. And your total’s 7.50.”
Nodding, she takes in your answer, noticing your subtle shift from one foot to the other, fiddling with your hand as you continued to look up at her. She pulled out her card and handed it to you.
“Likin’ it ‘ere so far?”
Nodding eagerly, you smile once more at the thought of moving to a new area.
“Quite nice actually. Nothing like where I’m from, that’s for sure. And you? Haven’t seen you round either.”
You walk over to the coffee machine, looking up at her as you pour her drink. She pauses before answering. You’d assumed she wasn’t used to conversations dragging on this long by the way she took long pauses, carefully considering all her answers. But to be fair, she’d initiated it — so she’d have to deal ‘til you gave her her coffee and sent herself on her way.
“From ‘round ‘ere. Just been gone.”
She nods, as if confirming her own words more to herself than you. Watched as you walked back to the counter and handed her drink over. Nodding, she’d take it out your hands, mumbling a quiet thank you.
After that, she wouldn’t have come back in for a while maybe a week or two passed. But that didn’t mean you weren’t occupying her mind the whole time. So instead of confronting her cafe crush, she’d opted to watching you from afar. Would walk ’round the corner, eyeing the inside of the cafe with her hood up and mask on.
She notices you, of course pink apron, same messy hair sticking to your cheeks and forehead as your job wore you out. She never let her eyes linger for too long, just enough to check in, that’s all this was… her checking in. I mean, someone new at her favorite cafe of course she’d be curious. This had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that she thought you were a pretty little barista. So much so that last time she definitely didn’t forget to get her usual sweet treat, mentally gawking over the pretty bird working behind the counter. She’d ordered a black coffee, quickly blurting it out to end the silence before it was too awkward to salvage.
She wasn’t a fan of black coffee, but for some reason she drank it anyway. Tasted better than she’d expected when she remembered you’d been the one to make it. She’d be back tomorrow maybe this time she’d actually go inside again.
So the next morning she wakes up bright and early, going on a long jog to plan how she’d approach you today in a friendlier manner. And after thinking it over for a while, she heads home to freshen up before finally dragging herself to the cafe and getting in line.
She’d waited maybe 30 minutes in line some lady ordering for a whole village it seemed like l and when you finally got her order out, you were spent. Simone rolled her eyes at the lady’s excessiveness. Finally being able to step forward, she looks down at you, and you playfully roll your eyes.
“Lady was takin’ the mick, I swear to ya. So what can I get started for you?”
She lets out a small chuckle, and you smile before she exhales deeply.
“Muffin and a tea, pleas’.”
Nodding, you key her order in, deciding you’d comp the muffin, so you remove it from the transaction before pouring her cup and placing her treat in a brown paper bag.
“Sure, total’s 7.50 again.”
You pause before looking back up at her.
“And you know, if you’re going to window watch everyday, least be more discreet? Sure the mask thing works for idiots, but not when you’re a super buff giant who looks like they’re about to go on a murderous rampage.”
You smile, and she looks a bit dumbfounded at your words and quickly hands over her card, looking away. You could see the annoyed glint in her eye as she waited for you to finish with her card.
“Don’t know what yer talkin’ bout,” she rolls her eyes, taking her card back after the transaction was successful. She puts it back in her wallet, reaching for her items. You hand them over, slightly pausing to speak.
“Don’t play coy with me. ‘M not bothered think it’s cute, actually. But own up and ask me out, yeah?”
She blinked, that same dumbfounded expression etched on her face, before she nodded and finally spoke again.
“Alrigh’ then. Be back tomorrow mornin’ to ask ya properly.”
She gave you a slight nod and took her purchase, turning swiftly, footsteps heavy as she left the cafe.
She said she’d be back in the morning.
So of course she showed up.
Spiraled the whole night about it too looking up flower arrangements and how to properly ask out a pretty lady. Paced around her room, hands behind her back like she was preparing for a briefing with the president. Practiced what she’d say to you, knowing her stoic nature wouldn’t do her any justice when the morning came.
So 7:30 AM rolls by and she’s stood upright outside the small cafe, waiting patiently, bouquet of baby blue nigellas and a small white bear in hand. And you could tell she’d really prepared for this giggling up at her as you opened the store for the day. She stepped in quietly behind you, focused on the task at hand: taking you out.
She handed you the flowers with the most faint smile if you blinked, you surely wouldn’t have seen it, but that made it all the more sweet.
“Meant what I said yesterday,” she muttered, looking down at you as you admired the bouquet in your hands.
You smiled up at her, brows furrowing in slight confusion.
“Bout which part?”
She chuckled deeply before taking a step closer.
“Told ya ‘m gonna ask ya out proper.”
She took your hand into hers, shaking it gently.
“Name’s Simone, and I’m shit at this but I’d like to take ya out to dinner. See ya when yer not covered in coffee. ‘Fs that alrigh’ with you?”
She said it quietly as she eyed your face, looking for any sign of you wanting to back out. She wasn’t used to asking women out on dates, nor had she taken the time to learn to flirt, but she felt like she’d done alright. Her eyes stayed locked on your face as she awaited a response.
Holding the bouquet against your chest, you smile up at her.
“Hmmm, Simone. Cute.”
You paused for a minute, letting her name sit on your tongue as you pondered for a bit. You could see her starting to crack more by the second as your silence filled the cafe.
“Dinner sounds great. I’d love that.”
laughing to yourself, you walk behind the counter and set the flowers in an empty vase, taking the note from inside of it and slipping it into your pocket before putting your apron on and tying it around your waist.
“Ya know, if you keep bringing me nigellas, just might have to marry you.”
Her expression didn’t change at first as it took her a moment to process what you’d said. Her eyes widened slightly before she turned away, clearing her throat as she nodded. “Right.”
She paused, speaking quieter this time.
“Noted. So when can I take you out, then? You just tell me when. I’ll be there.”
She awaited your answer, hands in her pockets as she looked down at you.
You stop to think for a second.
“How about tomorrow? I’m off, so I won’t be so tired.”She nods in response, trying not to look too eager even though mentally she was doing backflips.
She lingered for a second, like she wanted to say something else, but she’d stopped herself. She gave a small smile and a wave before turning on her heel and leaving the cafe.
she couldn’t wait for your date tomorrow.
can u tell idk how to end stories ? LMK😭🐰
Also I just know simone would go home and spiral about that marriage comment looking for engagement rings and everything SHE NEEDS A WIFE.

when you grew up as a lonely uncool girl it will never stop haunting you by the way. you will meet a cool person at a bar or the train station or at a friend's party and you can wear your most stylish outfit and striking eye makeup and you will swear that they can see through all of the facade and see the lonely terribly insecure teenage girl you used to be who desperately wanted to connect and you will swear that they know that there is like an insurmountable gap between you. this will happen forever
