Tell me a famous fanon theory or headcanon that you love, and one you hate!

ive held onto this for a while bc my brains been dead lately but

a theory that i hate is the "grusha is definitely transmasc" because it kind of makes me feel icky. just cause hes very feminine you clock him as trans? thats kinda,,, transphobic imo and also gross because theres more male characters in scarvio and for some reason you pick the pretty and feminine one for your trans headcanon? hmmmmMMMMMMMM. makes me think idk just makes me feel like youre clocking someone. just cause a guys trans doesnt have to mean hes hella feminine. and cismen can be and are allowed to be very feminine as well. i hate the idea that just cause a dudes feminine he must be non-cis in some way. theres something very gross about it even if i cant exactly name it. feels like it denies cismen the right to present as anything but super masculine. i think thats harmful. maybe im thinking too much about it, but its something i feel very strongly about, even if im not a man myself. i think we need to do more as a community to support cismen that might not be super masculine. they deserve to feel represented too. thats the same reason that when i play grusha (which i nowadays mostly do on discord), his cis and bi with a preference for women/fem people, and i also like to explore themes of that sort of struggle as well as dynamics with his family who dont accept him for his preferred appearance.

my opinion on this may be controversial and potentially make other people feel attacked over their headcanons but yknow what, theyre entitled to feel however they wanna feel about it. it doesnt change my opinion. all i ask is that you re-evaluate WHY you have that headcanon you have about a character, and if it may be because of an enternalized bias of some kind. i think in fandom we do that far too little.

as for a fanon theory i love.... ill have to say, even if it may be contrarian, i actually cant think of one rn qwq i dislike most fanon ideas come to think of it. im not sure why. most of them simply either completely dont interest me in the most indifferent way possible, and others veer into the dislike territory. ill give this one more thought and link it to this post if i find one.

It should be notable that Leon lies through his teeth whenever it comes to his love life. It's a gut reaction he's developed over his time as the reigning champion of galar, both because the board encouraged him to curate an image of being always available for his fans (in their fantasies of course), and because said fans could sometimes get rather pushy and be downright harassing him at times. It's why he always reacts incredibly awkwardly and avoidant when someone confesses their feelings to him. He has a trauma response, only bolstered by the fact he's already uncomfortable with the idea of being someone's target for romantic interest.

He doesn't have the best reactions to this comfort though. Frequently, when someone confesses their crush to him, he tends to ghost and avoid them for a while before he feels ready to talk to them about it. He's aware it's not cash money to do that but also doesn't know how else to face that situation without having a panic attack.

There's also her more trauma related reasons for not really ever experiencing a crush, but that's not something she'd want to talk about openly with strangers.

Champion Leon! – Sorry, are you Former Champion now? They’re so conflicting back at HQ, you know! The reporter adjusts their glasses as the wooper on their shoulder does the same. How is the wooper wearing them? Irrelevant. Continuing! What’s your thoughts now that the mantle has passed? Are you sad? Happy? Mixed feelings? What is our illustrious champion doing now that he’s taken the time to breathe?

He lifted his hands at the questions, a gentle gesture in defeat to slow down as the reporter more or less descended upon him. The cute wooper made it easier for Leon to relax though, amused by how it wore its glasses the same way that its trainer did.

"Easy there! Yeah, it's Ex-Champion now. Originally, my feelings were overwhelmingly excited that I'd finally been bested! It means I still have room to grow, potential within me to unlock. That's how losses in battling should be seen, rather than a shortcoming on one's own end. As an opportunity to grow!"

Leon put his hand over his chest where his heart was, a genuine smile on his face.

"I used to be terrified that I couldn't improve. That I was stuck, stagnant and in a rut I couldn't escape. I loved being Champion, don't get me wrong, but when you're - allegedly - the best your region has to offer, and you remain undefeated for that long you're starting to wonder what there's left to discover."

"A little after that, I felt a bit mixed about it. I'd known little else for the longest time, but you know what? That meant there was so much about myself to re-discover! And I get to spend a lot more time with my friends and family now."

"And for me, that's the thing that matters most about it. I support Gloria with all I can, just like I do for my brother and my dear friend Professor Sonia, the latter of which without whom I would have never become who I am today."

"So if I can say anything for my fans, I'm sorry if you felt let down by my loss. But I hope you're happy for me because I feel happier now, knowing I have still room to grow. And say a big thank you to your region's Professor if you're from Galar, she deserves the praise!"

Sonia pouts, but there's a playfulness evident in her voice, like she's sharing secrets at a slumber party instead of talking to the press.

"Hehe, I'm just kidding. I guess it has been a long time since I was in the spotlight, so it makes sense that people would forget. The two of us have been friends since we were little kids; I seriously can't imagine my life without him, you know? We even did our League Challenge together. I was his rival first, before Raihan—but that's practically ancient history. Everyone already knows how that went. Basically, Leon is my best friend in the whole world. And what kind of best friend would I be if I didn't cheer him on?
