Two years earlier:

A slam of a door was heard from the downstairs. With her dance bag slung over her shoulder, Bomi skipped up the hallway. Earbuds were stuck in her ear and her head bobbled up and down, making her hair swing back and forth. A loud voice yelled at her from a upstairs room.

“BOMI-AH!” Still oblivious of the voice, Bomi started to dance around the hallway. Suddenly, she felt arms around her waist. She whirled around to face her older brother, Hyunwoo.

“Oppa. What are you doing?” Not saying anything, her brother handed her a pretty envelope and walked away.  Bomi stared at the envelope. It had been a while since anyone tried to contact her. Most of the time, she was just a loner in the corner, listening to music. No one at school talked to her at all. She didn’t even think anyone knew her. Running up the stairs, Bomi threw her stuff onto the ground and jumped on her bed. Knocking her music sheets on the ground, she carefully opened the envelope. Reading it, a smile unconsciously appeared on her face. Unknown to her, this was a start of a good, long friendship.

  Now:

Breath in. Breath Out. Breath Out. Bomi stood in front of the dance studio. Her hands hovered over the door handle. One. Two. Three. She counted in her hand before opening the door. Crowds of people were standing in little circles. They were all talking, smiling and having a good time. Never in her life did she see so many people in a dance rooms. There were girls and boys, of all different sizes. Bomi kept her eyes on the ground, almost admiring how clean the floors were unlike her old dance studio. A woman with short hair stood in the front of the room and hushed the dancers. Like a person pressed the mute remote button, a hush of silences fell on the crowd. Feeling even more uncomfortable, Bomi shifted her balance from one foot to another. She felt eyes burning into her head as she bowed at over a 90 degree angle. Saying it in a loudness voice, “Annyeong! Yoon Bomi imnida! Please treat me well.” Looking up, a familiar face appeared in the crowd. She squinted her eyes and almost gasped out loud. It was her penpal. Totally ignoring the teacher, Bomi’s mind just wandered around.  When the teacher stopped her, she threw her bag onto the corner of the ground and tapped her penpal’s shoulder.

“Remember me?” Bomi giggled.
