“It’s a tribute to Elvis,” Aziraphale said matter-of-factly, as if he was explaining that two plus two equals four. At Crowley’s blank stare, his lips curved into a smirk, eyes twinkling. “Honestly, Crowley, how can you not know that? I thought you always… had your finger on the pulse, so to speak.”

“I do!” Crowley protested defensively. Then, his brain caught up with what he had heard. “Hang on,” he said. He peered over the top of his glasses, eyes narrowed in suspicion. “How do you know all of that?”

Predictably, Aziraphale ignored him.

Summary: 

There was a buzz of excitement in the air, but Crowley could not work out why; despite how he liked to believe that he was always abreast with what the humans were up to, he still found that every so often, he was a few steps behind. He supposed that this was one of the inevitabilities of being… not human. He gave the cabbie a lazy wave and gestured at the traffic.

“What’s all this, then?”

The cabbie gave Crowley an unimpressed look. “Pull the other one, mate, don’t have time for any more wind-up merchants.” And he blasted on the horn again, stretching awkwardly to reach it whilst still standing outside of the car; his shout was directed to the upper floors of the flat: “Oi, ladies, get a move on! Let’s not wait for the bleedin’ grass to grow!”

Bookfest Fic! Jurassic Omens is now live!

As you know, dinosaurs have never existed. The fossilized bones humans are so obsessed with are a mysterious, ethereal joke paleontologists just haven’t seen yet… but things have changed.

Ten years after the world failed to end scientists in Costa Rica have claimed to “resurrect” the prehistoric beasts in the interests of delighting children and immense profits. Aziraphale and Crowley are the only two residents of Earth who know how impossible this should all be and take it upon themselves to come out of retirement and investigate what is going on on Isla Nublar.

What could go wrong?
