This post doesn’t belong on here but because she’s someone I look up to and care about I’m gonna put it on the blog where the most people will see it.

Emily Gwen, who created the sunset/orange lesbian flag, is receiving threats and is having rumors spread about her. To be clear, this is not the pink flag or the flag with the lipstick mark, which was made by a biphobic and transphobic racist. It’s this flag:

Emily is trans inclusive and ace inclusive, as is her flag, and it always has been.

Her flag, the lesbian flag, was almost featured in the google pride doodle, up until the final draft. All because people told the heads of the project that she was transphobic and acephobic, and that her flag didn’t “deserve” to be featured, so they told the artist to get rid of that flag and put in a new one. Those things aren’t true. Emily believes in including everyone and has not participated in discourse for years now. The artist wishes he had known this, but in the end he didn’t have a choice and had to do what the heads told him.

Please stop spreading rumors and lies about her. She is a struggling human being. She has already had to quit so much social media and use a fake name because she is worried about being known due to how people treat her, and how they choose to believe lies over her.

Stop spreading rumors about the lesbian flag too. You have no right to judge what flag lesbians use, especially now that it’s literally bled into the mainstream that “lesbians don’t have any good flags because the creators are all horrible people so let’s just not use any for them!” Let lesbians have visibility. The rainbow flag doesn’t count. Keep in mind it’s the community flag, and that while most places don’t use the actual MLM flag the rainbow flag has always had the strongest association with gay men. Most people don’t even known Gilbert Baker made it for all of us.

And let Emily Gwen have some peace for once in her life, she is going through really terrifying and hard times right now with her family.

Stop harassing someone based on lies, and when she gives you truth, stop ignoring it and tell other people they’re misinformed.

new aesthetic: cottage punk

-cool and fun blend of cottagecore aesthetics with punk values

-what’s more punk than reading abolitionist literature while sipping your tea and having some fresh fruit

-baking fresh bread from scratch and then making little sandwiches to give out to protesters

-romping around in a meadow wearing your old beat up docs, stopping to rest in the shade, laying on your DIYed leather jacket like a blanket

-fingers stained with spray paint from making ACAB murals by the road, a crown of wildflowers in your hair

-mutual aid!! free soup for the revolution!!

-guerrilla gardening, basically vandalism but with gardening. making use of unused spaces to plant a nice community vegetable garden or some pretty flowers

-covered head to toe in tattoos of various herbs, wildflowers, mushrooms, fruit, and other nature things

-running away to a cottage in the woods!! whats more punk than abandoning capitalism and building a happy little life for yourself and living off the land. good for the environment AND bad for corporations. that’s how you stick it to the man.

-jam sessions in the woods when your bellies are full of fresh fruit and the sky is clear above you, everyone sings along to woody guthrie

-literally just gentleness. kindness. love. what is more punk than passionately loving yourself and the world around you?

Forager 🌱

You lace up your old hiking boots and fill your backpack with water, a spade, and some shears. You're ready for the day!

Someone who loves you has left a plate of muffins out to cool, how kind of them! You snag a few and get going.

It's warm outside today, and a few familiar bird calls come from the woods nearby. The sun feels good on your skin.

It isn't long before you are in one of your favorite spots, picking some fresh berries and packing them away.

You hop from rock to rock through your favorite stream and watch the fish dart around in the cool water.

You have the most productive morning, gathering lots of herbs and fruits. Your hands are dirty and your heart is full.

On your walk home, a crow swoops down in front of you. He does a funky little dance until you share some of your loot.

When you return, you wash your hands with homemade soap that smells like lavender and honey.

Someone who loves you laughs as you tell them about the snails and birds you saw on your walk, and they help you sort out your finds.

You go to bed knowing you've done well, that you are loved, and that you get to do it all again tomorrow.

Not sure if they're folk punk or not, but the Dropkick Murphys are a punk band from Ireland that sound both punk AND distinctly Irish at the same time, so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for

I remember Dropkick Murphys from the goblincore playlist I took submissions for back when I started this acc, can confirm that they slap and I love them
