ok ignoring the cgi that's involved in hotd being reason for why aemond's in an eyepatch constantly . i also am going to be very mad if we don't get like a few scenes w him and his sapphire bc it just doesn't make sense for him to always be wearing the eyepatch. he is scarred for life and it is now his trophy for life, he makes it into a symbol, something he's frozen in time forever by instilling the sapphire within it. corny but like it's where he pulls his strength from. people look at it and its a reminder of his resilience.

ok im going to shut up after this but aemond is extremely irrational. logic is important to him but when it comes to justice and vengeance ... or what he considers to be fair, how he can protect his family, how he can exact revenge on his sister's life ... logic suddenly seems like a silly little joke ... it's not like anything or anyone can stop him ? he's so arrogant to the point where he almost believes he's immortal, literally who can kill him when he's this powerful ( also thanks vhagar u made him who he is today ! ) and that makes him so crazy and so dangerous and on top of all of that he already had the foundation of a bitter childhood and pent up frustration and anger. add the need to fulfill his mother's wishes and make HER proud ... it's like this big SOUP of all bad shit and he just acts upon it bc why the fuck not !!! literally.... who's gonna stop HIM !

is it not so absolutely crazy to you how aemond gets his whole ass eye cut out and he's like ! it was a fair trade, mother. i may have lost an eye but i've gained a dragon. like lets not think about how he wants to reassure mommy in that moment ( well yes let's ) but also how like ... this night has literally changed the trajectory of his life forever and now he's the most powerful man* ( BOY! ) in westeros ( in his eyes ) HE'S A BOY ! he's just a boy with the oldest and largest dragon and a bucket load of trauma and it's like, everything in his life. has lead to that moment and he finally got what he wanted ( and MORE ) the wheels were turning in his head !!!! it's crazy to think that he would have killed luke on accident bc wtf this is his origin story !!! he's a boy who got his eye cut out and he's insane !!! he's angry and he's going to kill that kid he decides it right there like HELLO !! aemond vc : death ! to them all !!
