Rating all of HSR's main story arcs because I'm bored :

Warning : extremely biased

Arc 0 : Herta Space Station - 5/10

Not really a story arc and more so a very long introduction cutscene, sets the characters decently well, however besides the Astral Express, Stellaron Hunters and Herta none of the other characters ended up being that important unfortunately. But as a tutorial it is quite decent and the Space Station itself is quite well designed. Decently happy that we are somewhat back in it, to a degree, in current story, but since it's not related to the MC we barely see any of it and don't get to walk around much ; still good.

Arc 1 : Belobog - 7/10

Belobog is quite the nice story, mixed in with familiar faces for the Hi3rd players (unfortunately that early on we couldn't realize how much of a curse it was), but unfortunately it suffers from the "Early MiHoYo Story Syndrome" meaning it is quite bland and very straight to the point and rushed, probably the fastest paced story we have (in insight this might actually be a positive) and doesn't exactly let us explore the themes of class differences/prejudices, and how the rich turn a blind eye to the suffering of the poor and all, and also doesn't really let us connect to the characters, but it does have 2 of the best boss themes of the entire game (Godfather and Wildfire). I wish this planet was even glanced at by hoyo for like 2min because I'm pretty sure they straight up forgot about it entirely.

Arc 2 : Xianzhou Luofu - 6/10

If Belobog didn't have enough exposition and dialog, Xianzhou was the complete opposite ; too much all the time, it honestly felt like an history lesson with some fighting in between. I am not a big fan of Dan Heng so the story being centered around him and his past didn't click for me, felt more like a chore than anything, the Phantylia reveal was cool and one of the less directly obvious one (compared to the more recent "mysteries") but didn't feel like it got to live it's full potential and the solution was presented just as fast as the problem was introduced, Phantylia didn't get a lot of time as herself, just one boss fight, which is a shame considering she was the best character of the arc, also i wasn't attached to Tingyun so her "death" was kinda whatever for me, and that being the sole "emotional" moment was unfortunate since it did nothing to me.

Arc 3 : Penacony - 9/10

More like Peak-acony, on a serious note this is the best story Honkai Star Rail has shown us at the moment, it will be hard to top it (especially seeing how the current story is going), it is very good but not perfect, quite far from it, the few flaws i find it are quite major. It's biggest flaw is the amount of characters it has introduced, with such a large cast it would have been an actual godsend miracle if all the characters got equal treatment, so it was obvious that the writers had bitten more than they could chew, this is especially major considering my favorite character was one of the unfortunate few to be side-lined ; the second major flaw is the very confusing ending, the overlapping amount of dreams made it confusing to know what was reality and what was not. Now that the negativity is out of the way, everything else was near perfection, the overall story was beautiful, Sunday's boss fight too (i love "Hope is a thing with feathers" but the fact that we will never get a phase 3 climax for the boss ost is terrible), and the characters, mainly Firefly, were so well written and had beautiful arcs ; the pacing might have been on the slower end but honestly? Any faster and it would have felt rushed, any slower and it would have felt dragged out, so it feels like a good middle. The location itself is also brimming with such personality and fun. It is very sad that we will never reach such a high again.

Arc 4 : Amphoreus - 1/10

I know we're not even half way through but, i have a hard time believing Amphoreus will be able to climb back up. It is cursed to be the 3rd generation of inbreeding of the 2nd worst Hi3rd arc : Elysian Realm + Elysium Everlasting. I just cannot care about most of the characters, i cannot care since i know mihoyo won't even make their deaths matter there is nothing at stake, nothing to risk, it's all a memory everyone is already gone anyway. I cannot care to read a story i hated again and again, Phainon and Castorice are HARD carrying this entire arc, well might as well just say Phainon since one of them is fucking gone already. And the pacing is horrendously slow, unnecessary dialog endlessly repeating what we already know and providing nothing of substance to make me like the characters, how am I supposed to like the character if they just keep dropping like goddamn flies, at this point you might as well just King Crimson me to the end because i cannot go through another useless loop, even the twist of the MC being dead was resolved within the SAME patch, like, we're introducing problems and solving them 2h later what was the point, and nothing even changed and nobody even cared that we were dead, it seemed like a random half assed plot point created after the whole story just to extend the time because MiHoYo thinks they can make a story last for almost an entire goddamn year, they aimed way too high and the story is gonna get worse from here ; they already killed everyone in patch 3.3 when the last patch is 3.8, i assume 3.4 will solve the Phainon mystery so what the fuck are we supposed to do for the 4 last patches if not redoing it all but "omg changing the fate of something that doesn't matter because it's a memory and they're all already long dead so whatever we're doing is useless in the long run". Amphoreus shouldn't exist, it is just an excuse for hoyo to slap Elysian Realm, and more importantly El*sia into HSR because god forbid they make a single game without her in it (genshin is unironically our last hope, they have yet to be contaminated by hi3rd hopefully it stays that way). MiHoYo NEEDS to be original i am fucking begging them.

Mihoyo wonderful company that they are somehow re-introduced an old bug, you can now (on beta/CN servers) have a valk play the wrong animations/animations from a different valk.
