Its #GroceryBagTuesdays ! Every Tuesday our team of nutrition volunteers pack ~50 grocery bags for our clients living with HIV/AIDS, whose health is stable enough to cook for themselves. On Monday our Director of Nutrition Services Lisa Zullig headed to Washington, D.C. to present at the annual #HealthyAgingSummit on #MedicallyTailoredMeals. 🍎🥕🥦 The elderly population is growing 📈, and malnutrition in seniors has become an increasingly pressing issue. Studies show that a healthy diet in later years reduces the risk of osteoporosis, high blood pressure, heart diseases and certain cancers and can help keep older adults in their homes 🏠 longer, instead of in expensive institutions. 🏥 We’re thrilled that we could bring our expertise on nutrition and aging to our colleagues in D.C. and that we can continue to give sick seniors the nutrition support they need as they navigate their illness and treatment. ❤️ When older adults contact God's Love, they find a community that cares deeply about them. ❤️#HealthcareStartsWithHealthyFood #wellnesswednesday — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/2LuxhQv
